I am finally back from Rio trip and want to thank all my fellow mongers for their informative posts and PM. Rio was my 30th mongering destination and I wanted it to be special. I spent 5 nights and had the 5 prettiest girls for all those nights. I had to choose between a hotel and apartment, I chose hotel as they have breakfast as well as room service for cleaning. I managed to get Hotel Astoria for per day USD75.00 + 50 Rials to take a girl to the room. Excellent hotel with excellent breakfast, walking distance to the beach, balcony bar, Hepl and Lumno therma.

Day 1. I arrived Sao from Dubai at 6.30 pm , journey 15hrs 30 minutes. Since I was told there was nothing much to do in Sao I took the 9.30 TAM flight to Rio approx 100 Usd . I changed some USD at the Sao airport the rate is very bad 158 rials for 100USD.Arrived the hotel at 11.30 pm I had made a pre arranged transfer to avoid any taxi problems. The hotel gave me 180 Rial for 100 Usd. I then took a shower and went to balcony bar. As I was very tired I picked up a pretty black female to 100 Rial for 2 hours. I don’t remember her name but she gave me a good massage and 2 pops. I remembered the word completa and made sure all gave me one. I took some good quality condoms from Dubai.

Day 2. I went to the beach in the morning and then in the evening at 4.30 went to see a football match at the Meracana stadium Rio VS Sao. These guys really love football and most of the supporters wear the T’shirts of their favorite team. Selling t’shirts outside the stadium is a big business. At night I went to the famous Help. The cover charge was 23 Rials before midnight. That day Brazil forwarded the Clock one hour ahead . I believe the do it every year to save energy. In Help I picked up Claudia and beauty that looks like escort models. She asked for 350 Rials for the full night but I negotiated for 200 Rials. She agreed to my surprise may be because it is now off season. The sex she gave me the entire night was unbelievable.

Day 3. I went to vist Corcovado and city tour in the morning. In the afternoon I went to see a massive gay parade on the Copa\Ipanema beach. There was a lot o Samba dancing and music that I enjoyed. At night I again went to help, picked up Vanessa for 200 Rials for the night. Again an excellent worker and worked hard on me all night.

Day 4.Did not do much in the morning, just hung around on the beach. There are plenty of pick ups on the beach if required. I requested the hotel staff to take me to Villa mimosa. He obliged and took me in his car after his duty . Plenty of hookers I did not go in as it looked like a hard core joint. I then went to Frank’s bar to pick up for the night, seemed too expensive. I went to Balcony bar and picked up a cute babe, I don’t remember her name excellent tits for 150 Rials for the night.

Day 5. Being the last night , I went to Therma Lumno, It is more for guys who come with families and the can have a good quickie and come back to the family. At night I went to Balcony bar and picked up a pretty female , Her name is Falvia, she looks like Julia Roberts in pretty woman. She did not ask for money and told me to give her whatever I wanted. I gave her 150 Rials when she left.

The next morning I took a bus from Rio to Sao . It costs 68 Rials and very comfortable. It takes around 6 hours and from the bus stand there are busus that took me to the airport. I will surely relish the memories of RIO for a

I tried to post a map of Centro some time ago with the knock shops marked. But it was too big to get past the forum rules. If I shrunk it, it didn't show the necessary detail. Centro is pretty easy once you get the hang of it but can be a footslog in tiring circles for the newcomer. Of course, most of the maps you get just show you the main tourist bits and aren't much good for serious multi-location mongering.

The Ruas (Carioca A-Z) is a bit bulky for most people and you can only buy it when you get there (my map was based on pages scanned in from Ruas with additional markings for the many mongering spots). But today I saw the new(ish) Time Out Rio de Janeiro guide, which is pocket sized and has some of the most useful maps I've seen. Very easy to read, and includes most of the smaller Centro streets you need to find. The Lonely Planet equivalent, although well referenced to non-monger places of interest, is indecipherable by comparion.

A bonus is that (in T/O) there is a map that clearly shows named roads leading to and in Vila Mimosa.

(Techies might even want to scan the maps and put them on a good mobile phone - one where you can zoom on the picture display. I used to do this is Centro, where it's mostly quite safe, within reason, to walk around with an expensive phone. Use a cheap 'n' nasty phone when you're in Copa or VM.)

Needless to say T/O and LP don't include handy symbols for bundas, rates etc, You have to add those yourself from ISG <g>

Go to any of the termas mentioned on the board. I personally prefer 4x4 and Solarium. You may find more at Centaurus (I've never been). IMO its too expensive compared to the other talent available. Think R110 more for the same quality of girls and service.
4x4 has a great selection - can't go wrong there. While Solarium is a smaller place, they do have some killer looking babes in there. You can also try T65 and Cancun.

Prices run about R40 - 60 for entrance and R160 - 190 for a girl. Depends on the terma. Also if you take a girl before 5pm, some waive the entrance fee. You can also get free entrance at Solarium on Mondays - perfect for your arrival. Go to their web site now and look for promocoes, click on the top ad, fill out the short form (Name, age, have you been there - yes or no and your email), click ok. You'll get a reply email with the discount. Print it out and take it on a Monday.

I don't know what the situation is now, but when I left Rio in September, there was an 1-1:30 hour long line at immigration. I was taken by surprise.

There was a quasi-job action going on.

Heres what I did: I left my apartment with my luggage, went to Monte Carlo. They stored my luggage (manager's office). When I finished, they loaded it into the cab and off to the airport!

4x4, Solarium, Aeroporto L'Uomo and probably the rest will store your luggage for you. They are used to gringos doing a last terma run before heading to the airport. A few reais tip is always appreciated for the service.

You can go anywhere, since you are not leaving til 10.40. You can call in some entertainment, or go to a terma. Just be sure to get back to your hotel to get your stuff by 8.30. You will get to the airport with plenty of time to spare.

It's not just getting your boarding pass, you have to go through immigration too. Usually they only have 2 immigration officers on duty. More often than not, there is a long line.
And let's not forget traffic, on a non congested highway, its 45min from Copa to the airport. Give yourself plenty of time, lest you miss your flight.
