I had the same type of flight and the same type of question on my trip. First what I did was asked my hotel if I could check out late. I asked for 2 pm. Then I slept in late that morning till about 11 am. Got up, packed my bags and stuff and checked out late. Left my bags at the front desk and went over to 4 x 4. Someone had suggested taking my bags to the terma and I did see people who did that, but I choose not to. I was not concerned about my clothes in the terma, but my electronic stuff. Maybe I was too paranoid about taking my bags to the terma. Oh well. After a few hours at the terma, went back to the hotel area, got dinner at the restaurant near the hotel, went back to the hotel, picked up my bags and off to the airport I went. The hardest thing is realizing you have to pull yourself away from this place and leave. Was it the cheapest way to do things, from a cab perspective here and there? No probably not, but who cares unless you are a cheapo in which case you should not be going to Brazil anyway.

The other thing you could do would be to just pay for another night at your hotel, but that would depend on the cost of the hotel. Then you could eliminate some of the cab fees depending on which terma you are hitting and the terma cost and get an escort or some girl from the beach area cheaper. Then again, that depends on the hotel and really what you like to do and you would have to do some calculating to figure out which way would be better.

There are probably other ways to do this, but that is what I did and it worked like a charm and I had a great time except when I had to leave.

I had a wonderful dupla at Monte Carlo last night. We were going to go to the suite but the manager suggested we go to the special room for forty minutes and at the cabine price. I paid R$60 for the room (nice with mirrors all around) and R$130 for each girl. I liked the room, but forty minutes was not nearly enough time.

Have I mentioned I really like the new manager there. I found out last night that she used to be a receptionist. I actually don't remember her, but I must have been nice to her because she sure goes out of her way to make sure I have a good time. Huge thanks to Euro, Sperto, and others for their recommendation to use the Real bus from the airport to Copa!!

It is exactly as described. I walked past the taxi booths to the outside of the airport and there were two large buses and one small bus waiting to load passengers. These buses resemble charter buses in the US. I found the one with the COPA sign in the window, gave my luggage to the attendant to put underneath, and walked on the bus. Before paying my fare, i informed the attendent that i needed to be dropped off at the JW Marriott on Avenida Atlantica. He nodded an affirmative, I payed my R6 fare and grabbed a seat two rows behind him, and prepared for my *tour* of rio!

Honestly, this was a great experience as I have not spent to much time in Centro. Being able to drive through and see the locals walking the streets, was exciting to see. Haven't had this experience in a taxi from the airport before! My *tour* concluded immediately in front of my destination, the JW Marriott. The driver unloaded my luggage and wished me good luck.

Shame on anyone who doesn't take advantage of this cost effective, SAFE, comfortable, and relaxing resource!
