I've never stayed at a hotel, only apartments. That would be my suggestion. As for which one, that's a whole different story.

    Hotels In Rio...

So I'm planning my trip to Rio for the third week in february. My dilema is whether to stay in an apartment or a hotel. My last trip i stayed at the Princess Copacabana which I loved but since my last trip, there rates have almost tripled. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good girl friendly, nice place right around the Help area. Or should i stay in an apartment??

    update and a question

Just for everyone's info, Help was open on the 25th and actually was better than decent, I've never it like the 30th, I saw the fireworks from the runway on the 31st. Termas closed on the 25th and 31st, open the rest of the days, not so busy on the 30th but the 30th was the most ridiculous beach day I have ever seen on planet earth.

Question on two Brazilian songs I'm searching for, the first I hear in the termas and boates and second in every termas, taxi, help, etc.

    1) It's an upbeat song and the main lyrics of the chorus are "na praia que normal vesol. Carnival. Futbol (foo-chee-ball)". Kind of fast paced. Does anyone know where I can find the song or perhaps a link on youtube or something?

    2) There is this one song, my one friend called it favela trash, my favorite girl and Centaurus said she doesn't like it because it's way too dirty, it has a deep beat and a pretty annoying guys voice. Often going ehhhhhhhhhh. Ehhhhhh. And there's a word repeated over and over and over. And then the same word only it's repeated like 30 times in a row but faster. And again but faster. For those of you familiar with the place, you will probably laugh at how bad of a job I did at explaining this song but you will know it because it is truly ubiquitous. Any help is greatly appreciated. It truly is the Rio anthem of my four trips since Dec 15 2006.

This time around, I've never seen a lineup that could match that of Centaurus on planet earth, but they also jacked it up to 400 R. I didn't care, I spent 7 hours there on Friday. And Saturday. To me, L'Uomo and Solarium were both down, but many of everyone's fav's were there so I was fine, 4x4 was standard, never really a favotire of mine and some key girls missing, Boate Florida was up and is undoubtedly the best bargain in town if you get one of the top girls there, hell I took too but I'm greedy! For 150R for a dupla, I figured I would be silly not too. Monte Carlo was standard, pretty good. But the thing that got me about this trip was the beach, Cesar Park area, the massage girls we know, that everyone probably knows, said they never saw the beach that way, wall to wall all the way to the barracas, and there were no chairs left! Tons of termas girls on the beach, although both of my favs go to "Posto Gay" because they are so hot they get bothered way too much. They told me I could go one day with them, they will protect me because I look like a "Go-go boy" and there are so many hot women there just hiding, but I passed. Maybe If I had a pile of Centaurus girls on me. But no Posto Gay.

Back to Portuguese school, hope to be living there after 3 more bonuses collected, Spring of 2010.

Obrigado por algun ajuda com a musica.

Thanks for any HELPE with the music.

The Brazilian airline TAM provides a free shuttle between the domestic and international airports in São Paulo--it's just right outside the counters.

I was wondering was there a shuttle from GRU ( Sao Paulo) to GIG ( Rio) and if so who runs it? How much? And how often do they run. Since I would have no problem getting into Sao Paulo.
    Parkwood,

There are flights every 20 minutes from CGH to SDU on Varig, Tam, and Gol. It is more expensive and less frequent to go from GRU to GIG. Go to any travel agen in any mall. Their comission is ususally in the price of the ticket so it will be the same price as at the airport. They can find what time and what flight is cheapest. The other option is to go to the airport and shop the three big names for the cheapest flight at that time.

It is also cheaper to fly from CGH to SDU because you don't need to take the cab all the way out to the international airports (GIG/GRU). Both SDU and CGH are the local in town airports and are much closer.

Hope this helps. I will be in Brazil for 3 weeks at the end of January. I would love to catch up with some fun people to go out.

    first time visitor.

for a first time visitor i would go to rio. first stop would be the termas. the prices are fixed, the quality is high and the service is very high by world standards. i mean where else in the world will most girls call anal and bbbj standard? all for a set price. all receptionist's speak english. the hooks will know enough english to get by or at least have enough experience to be dealing with someone that doesn't speak that much porto. a language course is a great idea. those few words you will know will mean a lot.

after a couple of pops in a terma you will know what the standard is. then you will be less likely to be ripped off by some of the hardened pros in and around copacabana. second visit would have to be help. the biggest disco in south america. full of 200+ pros. prices are not fixed and one needs to be more aware of oneself. most helpee girls speak some english.

carnaval is a great once in a life time experience, but the prices are rediculous, the service way down and not a great time to be mongering. i think a month after carnaval to be a good time, weather is still warm, most of the tourists are gone and the girls are more realistic.

check out the "bubba guide" for a good start to your planning. scroll down the topics and you will see it.

I would seriously consider stopping off in Sao Paulo for a night or two, then fly from Congonhas airport to Santos Dumont, the domestic airports for the two cities. Sao Paulo has some great action.
