I published a report on Florida before, but I might have been in Scandinavia, not Florida. Anyway, last time I must have been lucky to find the place, but this time it took me two tries to get there. Directions: say you're starting at the Uruguiana subway stop. Go down President Vargas, make a left at Rio Branco (making a right gets you to #156, which is next to the Carioca subway stop.) Near the end of the street, there's an alley veering off on the left-hand side, which is full of small booths. Reach the end, and you're there.

This place gets started late! I got there about 7:00 p.m., went up the stairs, and it was pitch black. They turned on the neon sign about 9:15 p.m., and a dancer started about 11:15 p.m.

I took a seat in the outside Florida bar and had a beer to kill time. There's a grill man there who works for the bar/restaurant, so you're not eating 100% street meat. I thought the beef and the chorizo were the best, the chicken was disappointing, and the sausage was okay. The grill man is a funny guy and will try to help you in English if you stumble in your Portuguese. He will also bring you drinks.

Beware when sitting outside the Florida bar. There are several FLs which will aggressively hit on you. The worst is that they were not that attractive. US flight attendants have poor attitudes compared with other world ailines. It is not just to Brazil, it is all international flights. There attitude is that they are doing you a favour by actually serving you. There is no surprise why the US airline industry goes belly up so often.

Most of the Asian carries and some of the euro airlins have much better service.
