Forest, How about sites like GPguia that give results of performances? A few people have used the websites with sucess but there are only a few legit ones out there. Plus I think calling the girl before you arrive and set something up would be better but there is always a chance something can go wrong.

I have used some of the sites listed on the GPGuia. Some of them are reliable, or even very reliable. The only thing that I don't like with escorts sites in Brasil (or I should rather say in São Paulo, because I haven't used them in other towns or locations in Brazil) is that you have to describe eveything you want in advance.

In the past, whenever the night got late and I was still alone, I would try calling various agencies. I probably did this 3 or 4 times my first two trips to Brazil. On each occasion I was ripped off. The girl was NEVER the same, the service was NEVER what I requested and the girls ALWAYS requested more money than the agreed upon figure. I recommend unequivocally that agencies be avoided, just as my colleague Sampa Guide suggested.

If you get desperate in Sao Paulo, go to Kilt. Its open 7 days a week and there are always one or two pretty girls at a minimum (and often many more) to relieve the pressure. I agree with the guys who say you can do better than Kilt, but not on a Saturday night when none of the internet girls are picking up the phone! Or on a Sunday, when Millenium is closed (although my favorite club, Bahamas, is open on Sundays. Beware- if you think Kilt can get pricey, the bills at Bahamas can reach into the stratosphere).

But, only use an agency if you feel the need to be punished.

Mercure Jardins is in the Jardins area of SP, not Centro. I did walk one time from Mercure Jardins to Centro, and it is a long walk (perhaps 30 minutes) on Rua Augusta that starts with a climb of a San Francisco-sized hill. The walk from Mercure Jardins to Hotel Ca'D'Oro in Centro is also a good 30 minutes. There was an Accor hotel in Centro (Mercure Downtown), but it has changed hands. I can't remember the name of the new operator, but the information is somewhere in this thread.

Opinions differ, but I find Jardins to be much more livable than Centro, and the Mercure Jardins is a very acceptable place to stay.
