Posts: 422It's a big deal. I bet most of them will be closed (if not all). A good thing to do on days like this is to utilize phone numbers you've collected from the previous week.

How big of a deal is Easter in Brazil?
Will the termas and such be closed on Good Friday and Easter?
Thanks!

So I think it has to do with the economic status, if you are middle class or above then the aging process is slower.

I think you should try another consulate. Every person who continually gets screwed over with a 5 year visa has said they used HOuston. So I think there may be a problem.
I use LA now and have heard of anybody but one person getting a 90 day visa.

Having spent quite a bit of time in Brazil, particularly Rio, over the last six years, I have noticed that the women do not age very well. I also have seen pictures of mothers of women I have gotten to know and many of them are downright unattractive.
However, Columbian and Argentinean women seem to retain their looks well into their 30s and 40s. I know most of you are not interested in bedding 30 & 40 year-olds, but I was wondering if others have made these same observations.Last edited by Exec Talent; 01-11-06 at 04:13. Reason: clarify

Guys,
After my 5 year visa expired in 2005 I got stuck with two 90 day'ers in a row. On the third request I got another 5 year. I specifically ask for a 5 year each time I applied. I used TraVisa service in San Fran because there is no Brazil office where I live. The guys at TraVisa told me it is up to the person who reviews your application as to which Visa you recieve ......
Very frustrating. I'm just happy I finally ot another 5 years before having to apply again....

I have to move my plans back and will be flying to Rio in Late March, is this still a good time to go? I wasn't sure if it is okay or better to wait for Spring?
Thanks,

Have you ever thought of attaching a letter saying that you require a 5 years visa because you will be visiting the place regularly?

What consulate do you use?
I am not sure if it makes a difference but I still may avoid using that one. My visa runs out in 2007 and I might renew before I relocate if it turns out I have to use your consulate.

Posts: 525Crap! Another 90 day Visa!
This is the third time this has happend to me. My last 5 year visa was issued in 2000, expired last year. I went twice last year and both times I got a 90 day visa. I am planning a trip for Feb, got another 90 day visa. I am tempted to boycott Brazil and go pussy hunting in other parts of the world, but I am addicted to that Brazilian azz too much!
