I love Shanghai, however like any city there are the good parts and bad parts. I just describe things as they occur, if you want to interpret them in a negative light, it's UP TO YOU.

The last time I was at TRL I was pretty disappointed. I thought it had gone downhill; lower quality girls, higher prices and more hustle. Also, the beggers on the street had become very aggressive. The hamburger place is a ripoff and the guy working there tried to cheat me out of my change. I guess all of this is because of the huge influx of foreigners with plenty of money to throw around.

I didn't find any girls I was interested in, I didn't buy them drinks and I drank mine very slowly. I felt it was a ripoff. But remember, Shanghai has become a major international city, it's always like this in these big cities, so what can we expect? Compared to Singapore, Tokyo, HK, New York or London it's cheap.

Many of the other bars on Maoming Lu had closed down, so where else is there to go?

That's pretty funny since that night was the first time I went there. I went there to meet with AG hoping that the gang were a bunch of stand up guys who we could hook up for the KTV group outing. Instead we went to one bar after another on TRL which I hated. When in "Rome" do as the "Romans". I played along thinking that eventually we will do something other than wasting our time and money on those pathetic bars. Nope, the whole night was one scam bar after another, in which we were the only patrons. In light of the general ugliness of the girls and the EXISTENCE of "ladyboys" I am not a bit surprise that they have no CUSTOMERS, except of course your "gang".

At one bar the girl took the liberty of ordering another drink as I was getting ready to play pool with AG. I asked her nicely to take it back in which she comply. At another bar they stuffed the bill for another 250RMB extra. I was shocked that the entire gang said nothing. I watched in amusement that no one had the balls to call them on it. I am glad you guys had a good time getting RIPPED OFF:-) Gee, I wonder why no one goes to those bars? :-)

Yes, my night's total comes to 300RMB in which I had 3 Guiness Beer(I know those weren't fakes!) at the three bars and played pool with "the gang" and ugly girls(5 or 6). Met the infamous Peggy whom I was concern with shaking her hand in fear of catching something. I bought 3 drinks (at 2 bars) to show "the gang" not the girls (I don't waste money on 5s:-) that I was not a cheapskate. Overall, the night was a complete waste of my time except I finally got to meet "your gang" :-) Thanks, I needed that.

For the newbies out there, save your time and money and just read the forum and forget about meeting up with "the gang".

AND oh yes, I am still following my rule "I will NEVER go to a chat bar".
In fact, I never even knew the existence of such crappy establishments (I lived in Shanghai for 3 years and I like to go to the NICE places:-) except for the kindness of "your gang" :-)

Well, SN2, I know this is not true (will never got to a chat bar) since I MET you in a chat bar! :-) Nightshift is a chat bar, remember?

Agree with AG, I was being simplistic (ie, I know Katrina for example is one of the freelance girls) but the fact is, in order to get the freebies as you do, you generally have to live in Shanghai. I don't. The girls are much less interested in a guy who is only there for a few days and has limited language skills. So for the visitor like me, I think the rules do apply, mostly.

On the "get them drunk before they get you drunk" side, I do agree with your more nuanced approach. This is a particularly good approach at for example Nightshift. I think what you suggest is good. However, for Xstasea, where the girls are TOTAL hustlers, their aggression is best met by my less nuanced "get them drunk" rule.

However, note that Peggy at Xstasea is onto the game, and has started to counter by taking the tequila shot and then kissing you, passing the tequila into your mouth. Don't do it - make her drink it.

My First Day with the Gang

Take an short call to AG, and we met us in the evening…AG says he wait with an other Shanghai Gang Member in the Angels Bars at TRL, so I go inside and just see 2 Guys sitting on an Table ,I ask the Guys where AG is and just get an answer: playing Pool

Anyway I sit down and we start an Chat with GM and another Bro.

AG shortly came down ad we start the Evening with some Gin Tonic.

At first we was at the 1771 Club, for me it was an Club with real cute Girls I guess around 6-8 in the Game.

The only what I don’t like was the Backstage who is for my minds a “bit” too noisy for the others.

Anyway my Girl was nice cute with an beautyfull breast. The Sex was real good with an nice BBBJCJM
