I don't know about that. Whenever I get a girl from BBS, and that's usually really early like 5-6PM or so, they all ask if I want them to stay with me all night. A few of the girls were real persistent about it too asking me multiple times. I always tell them no because I always have to go KTV later and don't want to bring a "lunchbox." I think a lot of the girls think a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. If they can get you for LT, it's a sure thing 400, as opposed to taking a chance of not getting picked again for the rest of the night.

If you think about it though, I have seen BBS girls coming in and out of the hotels on busy nights like Friday and Saturday. You will see a girl go up to a room and 20-30 minutes later coming down, then 15 minutes later going back up to a room and 5 minutes later coming down (she went to Bill Lee's room) and so on and so on. At 150/200 a pop she can make good money for the night.

Considering getting LT for 400/500 thats just 2 pops, which is much better on slow nights, but seems would not be the profitable choice on weekends. Now of course some girls do fall in love with guys like AG, so money is not the issue here ;-)

As most of you guys know, on Friday and Saturdays the shops are empty by 9 pm and when a girl come back from doing a trick, she is sent right back out for the next one.

For the KTV, on the weekends, there is NO chance you are going to get a booking if you book on the same day.

If you're a regular, they'll find a room for you. KTVs typically set aside a few rooms in case VIP or regular customers call at the last minute. When my US buddies are around, there have been many times when HH somehow miraculously found room for us on weekend nights.

That said though, it is of course better to reserve early. Usually a the day before is sufficient.

The girls from the BBS usually do no want to stay for LT if you finish them off before 7pm. you keep them for LT they get 400/500 for the night, they go back to BBS, they might get another ST + LT; that’s 150 (your ST) + 150 + 400 = 700. See the maths? If you have a girl after 7pm they are more willing for LT. The later it is the higher the chance.

Side note on money exchanges, taking a left out of the Hui Mei Hotel, there is a small shop attached to the hotel, actually the first shop you see as you take a left out of the hotel, they are exchanging for 740 rmb for 100usd. I remembered my HK budy took me there once and he said they are honest. I exchange $400 usd and had no problem with conterfeit. I know because we spent all our rmb on the first day. Just wodering if 740 is a good rate. The miraton is offering only 710. I remember 2 years ago I was getting 800. Damn dollar keeps falling.

Where exactly did you get the money exchanged at the Miraton? Cause a fellow monger and guest of the Miraton from the U.S. was told by the Miraton cashier that they did not do any exchanges. He was introduced to the bellboy by the cashier who took his US dollars, exited the hotel and came back several minutes later with RMBs.

BTW, when this same monger purchased a counterfeit Johnnie Walker whiskey near the New Century, he was told that one of his 100 RMBs was fake. But then you can't tell whether the bill came from the bellboy or the switch was made at the whiskey store.

If I were you, I make small changes (100 to 300 US), gives you more time for you to exam all the bills before leaving your money exchanger.

740? Bank of China gave me 750 but that was four weeks ago.

You were a little high at Versailles. Cheaper if you drink Tsingtao and stay away from the wine or hard stuff.

Drinking beer is not necessarily cheaper... The problem with beer for a lot of guys is... it's almost impossible to get drunk off it unless you drink a LOT. A couple months ago, my friends I decided to get beer for a change, we went through 180. With some food and stuff... the tab came out to like 4000. Typically when we drink about 20 bottles of wine, the tab comes out to like 2500. When we drink whiskey, bill is typically about 3000.

RE: Canceling KTV bookings.

This is usually considered an uncool thing to do, and even worse is a no-show. Depending on the place, the person who takes the booking might have to pay a fine if she can't get someone else to take the room and that fine can be VERY hefty sometimes. Obviously this is usually not a problem on the weekends, they usually have people calling to ask for rooms anyway, but most likely, the next time you call someone at the same KTV to reserve a room, they won't reserve it for you.

FYI: Those gypsy cabs you find that take you to the border of GZ and then nego with another cabbie to take you to your final destination.

Anyway, you can usually pay a LOT less than their asking price. I bet Dan could have gotten to his final destination for 200 or less. The deal is this, the guys at the airport are hanging around because they already drove there from the city. They don't want to go back without a fare because that would just be a waste. You could have probably gotten him to take you to the GuangShen Expressway for under 100RMB. Once there, you could negotiate with the DG cabbies. The DG cabbies are the same deal, they came all the way up to GZ and they would much rather go back with a customer than not. You can usually get away with less than 100 for those guys too. Think about it, they're already there, and don't want to chance having to go back without a customer, that would be loss of money in both tolls and gas.

I mean it's not big deal you paid a bit more, but just letting you guys know for the next time.

Here are some of our experiences:

Private car to GZ Airport from Hui Hua 200 last December.

Called ahead when stuck in rainstorm last month June 12 coming from GZ via Japan Airlines same flight as yours got me in about 9 but by calling ahead so they held the room for me. Other routes via China Airlines or United to HK could be substantially longer, some with multiple stops in Taipei and Narita so your route is not bad though you can do just as well from HK bus service to Meriton for 100 less.

Your sauna rate and experience was about standard fare. You did good on the Huimei bbs girls at 200 . You could get 150 late at night even for non locals.

You were a little high at Versailles. Cheaper if you drink Tsingtao and stay away from the wine or hard stuff. Its okay to drinkwith the managers to develop relationships with them. The DJs which you pick when you walk in should get tipped about 200 each for the evening as well as the room managers and their assistants. Thats if you are buiding relationships for return visits.

You need to get out to Yalan to the 2nd floor above the restaurant, the 5th floor Silver Star KTV next door or Baby's across the main street on the way to White Swan.

If you are concerned about getting ripped off PM me for Manager Fu Ling #at Club P.P next to Lion for a nice room at 800 base not including tips for DJ and her. Can also recommend a Manager at Hui Hua but it will be higher. Hope you get into Jia yi and give us the comparison to Versailles.

Exchange rate at Hui Hua for guests is 750.

Finally arrived in CP. It was agrueling trip here.We first got fucked by my travel agent because our reservation was cancelled. We were scheduled to leave at 830am but finally left at 1pm. Stupide travel agent, but I guess we were lucky that we could even get a same day flight out from Hawaii. It was a damn long airplane ride, 8hours to Japan, then 3 hour stopover, then 4 hour flight into GZ. ...............I have to thank Jackson and and all the members of ISG for empowering me with the knowledge to enjoy all that CP has to offer. Without ISG and the loss of my HK buddy, I don't think I would have ever returned to CP.

Tao Yuan (Jia Yi) or Hui Hua: It all depends, if you want quality girls; I say Hui Hua, If you like quantity; Tao Yuan. But sometimes, at Tao Yuan, since there is quantity, the chances are higher for you to get a girl of your type.

Actually, HH has a lot more girls. TY probably has about 300 girls, 400 girls tops on the weekends. HH typically has about 500, and usually over 600 on the weekends. Anyway, the attraction of TY is you get to see all the girls at once. To be honest, I don't find it at all to my liking. I don't mind the mommies doing the hard sell thing, they have to make a living too, but at TY, it's just ridiculous. At HH, even after you select girls, mommies keep coming... that gets annoying after a while too. I just tell the DJ girl to tell them to stop bringing girls, that usually works.

Well, having arriving in CP yesterday (Friday) I patiently waited in my hotel room for Dan Hawaii to call me! After waiting hours upon hours for his phone call, which never came, I just went to sleep and came back to Shenzhen this morning...

Haha, not really, but sorry we could not meet up! I will be coming back on Tuesday, for one or two nights.

When I arrived in CP, I had OD'ed on "hard on pills" and could have cut glass with that thing!! Checked into the Lucky and talked to a mommy I know to send me up a girl ASAP! 400RMB total for the ride from GZ Baiyun airport to CP is just about right. The only part; as you said, is the certainly the scary part. Especially in a country / city where you are not familiar with and where there are so much heard about locals ever ready to rip or rob a foreigner off. In future, you can pre-book a car to pick you up to or from Miraton / GZ airport for just the same price. If you are interested PM me.

For the newbies; Miraton will usually hold your rooms until 6pm. If you do not check-in by 6pm, they will usually call the contact person you had given during your booking of hotel. In the case where your contact person (phone#) is an overseas# they will not call. Normally any check-in after 6pm requires Credit Card# as a guarantee booking. This in fact is standard for most hotels around the world. However, sometimes on a non-fully booked day, you might be able to get away without any guarantee. The Sauna rooms are the buffers rooms where they will put guest in for cases like yours or some walk-in after midnight. However once the Sauna business starts at 10am, they would move you out. As you said, they will usually start kicking you at 9am, they need to clean up the rooms. The latest you can stay in there is till 10:30am if you are a VIP. But don’t you agree there the room is much better than the standard rooms?

Incidentally; if you are having Jet-lagged and could not sleep, you may try to hang around the car park behind Miraton around 2 – 3am and pick your choice of girls getting off work from the MBA KTV in Miraton. Usually you can get off by paying 300 - 400 for ST and 400 – 600 for LT. Remember; their rates if you take them out from the KTV is 2 /5 /8 (oops… sorry for newbies: 200 for sitting with you in the KTV, 500 ST and 800 LT) If you pay the 5 or 8 you don’t have to pay the 2. I had once pick up a late supper from there at around 2:30am. But on a busy night, there might not be any good choices leftover from the KTV.

Wait??? 1050 for 4 legit massages??? That’ about 260 each! Man… you just over paid! Go over to Walter Hotel across the road from Miraton. JohnnyK just did one there over last weekend for around 180. On well… what the hell…. The quality might different! Hit me!

However if they smell that you are a foreigner, 200 / 500 you can’t escape! Versailles nowadays always has a room waiting for you. After the Tao Yuan (Jia Yi) opened, they had pulled 50% of their girls/guests over. In CP, if you are not choosy, there will always be a KTV room for you on any day. You will not be ripped off if you know a regular DJ or Manager.

Of course the Miraton’s business center girls are good and helpful!!! They are trained by me!!! Hahahaha! Also please note that you can also ask the Bell-boy to arrange the hotel’s transport to send you or pick you up from any places in CP (Including the Yalan BBS  ). It is free of charge as a hotel’s guest. But please give advance notice of at least an hour. On a busy day, the transport might be fully booked. We usually give the driver a little 5 – 10 rmb tip but not entirely necessary.

Tao Yuan (Jia Yi) or Hui Hua: It all depends, if you want quality girls; I say Hui Hua, If you like quantity; Tao Yuan. But sometimes, at Tao Yuan, since there is quantity, the chances are higher for you to get a girl of your type.

As I said, Xingdi…. Good place for first time experience, watch your wallets and your back, go in a group. Get in and get out fast before you get into trouble.

finally arrived in cp. it was agrueling trip here.we first got fucked by my travel agent because our reservation was cancelled. we were scheduled to leave at 830am but finally left at 1pm. stupide travel agent, but i guess we were lucky that we could even get a same day flight out from hawaii. it was a damn long airplane ride, 8hours to japan, then 3 hour stopover, then 4 hour flight into gz. we were approached at the gz airport by a taxi person, but when we got to the car, he had no taxi markings. was kind of scared that he was going to fuck us up and steal our money. but he drove us to the edge of gz and made a bargain with a real taxi driver, just off the freeway, and we switched cars. the total price was 400 rmb to the miraton. 200 for taxi one and another 200 for the second taxi. i think the second taxi traveled longer and got the bad end of the deal, unless he was heading into cp direction anyway. i would not suggest going this route as it was kind of unsafe and scary. just proceed out the airport and wave a taxi down. you can negotiate the price, i think, because our taxi guy was bargaining with us. thanks to some replies from senior members, i stuck to my guns at 400 rmb.

finally arrived to the miraton at 1 am, july 13, crazier hooked us up, making reservations for us, but they got cancelled because we arrived later, we were suppose to arrive at 7pm july 12, but the fucken travel agent. i rememebered my hk buddy stayed in a sauna room overnight because we arrived into cp late, like 2 years ago. so i was wondering if miratonn would honor this, and they did. we requested the sauna service and asked if we could sleep there overnight, they said ok. so we paid the 530 rmb for the sauna package, if we just got the room, it would have been 409 rmb for the executive room, because that was all they had left. so an extra 121 rmb for extras was the deal of the century.

the service was more than i expected, because i did experience cp sauna at another forgotton location, 2 years ago. this service, i must say it was fucken awesome. don't know if it is just standard service, and my 2 year ago experience at the other sauna was sub par???? they had about 20 girls at 1am, not bad, from 6-7 in looks. i picked a girl that looked japanese, she had big natural d cups:

was a nice and big clubhouse, around 3 stories high. had lots of jacuzzis, 2 snooker tables, restaurant, massages, internet lounging with foot massage, card rooms, karaoke i think, and just a lot of stuff to do. there is no club membership fee, everything is just ala-carte. we opted to go straight to massage, after showering. there are several choices of massages, thai, hong kong, and some others that i did not understand the man saying, because he had a bad accent. but thank goodness that some spoke english. don't get the thai massage, freaking hurts. next time i'm getting the hk style. my uncle and i got the thai massage and was in pain, the girls were just laughing and just kept on going. my other 2 friends, who got the hk style massage was in heaven. we did receive 4 free dishes at the restaurant, i guess you get them complimentary with the 4 massages we had. the food choices was rice soup or fried noodles. the other guy who spoke english said "notary" and "gougee", we didn't understand wtf he was saying so we just said yeah 2 of each. we paid around 1050 rmb total, for four massages of 1.5 hours in length, beers, and a couple of extra dishes at the restaurant. was kind of worth it, but my friends said it was a deal. we did not end up staying there long to take advantage of the full services that this facility had to offer, as it was friday and wanted to get some girls before the hk rush came into town. so we headed to the hui mei bbs.

we are planning on xinde club tonight.but got some warnings about that place being really a "local" hangout. might have to reconsider. last time i went with my hk buddy, had no incidents and had a good time. maybe things have changed.

i kind of like the versailles rooms better than the miraton, bigger rooms, sauna type showers with steam, and better tv channels. had a music channel, which alot of the girls liked to watch as i slept in bed. i particularly liked it because i have alot of chinese friends in hawaii, and sometimes they play some music i recognize when i heard it in cp. just reminded me about the great mongering times of cp. only bad about versailles, i don't think they spoke english, and it is virtually next to nothing, except xinde club. kind of in a factory neighborhood. miraton has better service and the facilities here are more modern.

side note on money exchanges, taking a left out of the hui mei hotel, there is a small shop attached to the hotel, actually the first shop you see as you take a left out of the hotel, they are exchanging for 740 rmb for 100usd. i remembered my hk budy took me there once and he said they are honest. i exchange $400 usd and had no problem with conterfeit. i know because we spent all our rmb on the first day. just wodering if 740 is a good rate. the miraton is offering only 710. i remember 2 years ago i was getting 800. damn dollar keeps falling.
