Saw from the Beijing thread that they grouped together to protect their pool of pussy assets by starting an adopt a Mongolian campaign. Has the time come to do the same in DG by sponsoring an adopt a CP gal campaign ? I see two sponsorship levels: adopt a KTV or adopt a BBS chick.

Sponsorship entitles the owner unlimited rights to access over the Olympic period. Plus the opportunity to rent out access to offset or defray sponsorship costs when not specifically in use.

Should be of interest to some pole vaulters out there ?

Why would somebody wear a neck chain (especially gold) on a foreign vacation?

Well, the guy I reported about is a businessman who lives in CP and was only walking from the resaurant to his car, not just walking around town on his own like a lost tourist.

I think these guys target their victims carefully and follow them secretly by using cell phones. I think they will also go for wallets and electronics.

They may also use girls to gain access to your apartment or room.

I don't know much, but from what I know, this is the picture I see. A few locals told me last night that this is very common and everybody knows about it.

And another neck chain theft story told to me today.

A guy standing outside the seafood restaurant near HuiMei Hotel on main street was the target. While looking at seafood this guy had his neck chain snatched and the thief escaped on the back of a moving motor bike. There was reason to believe some additional gang members were standing nearby using cellphones, ready to rescue the thief if something went wrong.

I think there are many crimes like this going on in CP that we do not know about.

This is a very organized gang of bandits.

I never wear any jewelery with the exception of a nice Rolex watch when I go out in China. Theivery are everywhere.

A few month ago while rushing through US airport security, I had one of those dumbfu#k TSA guys steal an expensive Mont Blanc pen from my suitcase. I did not notice it until I was up 30K feet up in the skies that the pen was stolen by those theives.

It is wise not to wear heavy gold chains around your neck. You will only be asking for trouble.

Actually, in the past there were posts of RAIDS in saunas in CP just before Chinese News Year. For KTV's, don't know or recall but I do recall several big KTV's were closed during the same time around CNY for a stupid excuse for remodeling. This is a frist for me about someone getting arrested and jailed in CP.

I have heard the same from a good friend that owns several high end ktvs'. They are sending in LE and undercover ones in to check things out. The last thing China wants is articles coming out about the stuff that goes on in most ktvs' frequented by mongers. The owners and customer caught will be punished. More so on the owners than customer. I would refrain from the mongering until mid or late October, it should be safe then. Just remember that Oct 1 in China's National day.

Back from CP yesterday. Seemed like business as usual. But be extra careful because Olympics is around the corner, and raids are highly possible.

Yes, I stongly agree with you. Be extremely careful until late September or best DO NOT fool around anywhere in China now. That's including high end KTV and saunas. Spoke with Santa earlier today and this is even worse than I suspected. These guys are not dumbnuts just off the plane and new to China but old China hands.

Things just went from bad to serious if this becomes the norm in CP then its the beginning of the end. Once the wrong element thinks they can get away this this its time for a correction.

Two big white guys, built like football players, walked out of Mito's Cafe the other day at 1.00pm. The second guy to exit the door was wearing a gold neck chain. A chinese guy snatched at the chain from behind and a struggle ensued. The chinese guy jabbed the white guy in the eyes with his sharp finger nails and then escaped on the back of a waiting motor cycle.

During the struggle the chain fell to the floor. Fortunately, the guys eyes were treated at a clinic but were not seriously injured.

Another guy told me today that he lost $100 US to a pick pocket.

Foreigners have become regular targets for criminals in this town.
