I can confirm this. I stay in touch with a WG who has been at Hillary on Soi 4 for years. She only does LT and often travels with customers. She said she averaged about 100 k a month pre-pandemic and also has an Australian boyfriend / sponsor. When the pandemic hit she gave up her apartment at the end of Soi, went back to Isan and built a house. Now her sponsor footed the bill of 300 k THB when she bought some farmland next to her lot.

She said she will not return to Bangkok until Thailand is fully open.

I hope you are right but it does depend on the Thai vaccine roll-out and vaccine passports. Thailand has to accept vaccinated foreigners first. Even with a best case scenario of some time late this year requires suspension of all beliefs about Thailand bureaucracy.

They have no choice but to open up to vaccinated tourists ASAP. The third lockdown in Thailand has all business barely hanging on by a thread. There ain't no safety net in Thailand like the very generous government handouts of the west.

I think they open up in the next 2 to 3 months to fully vaccinated tourists.

Actually, 10-15 per day doesn't sound too different from their pre-COVID numbers. In early March 2020 I posted that I was customer #13 at 10 PM..
