Hello guys,
I will be in BKK April 18th. I plan to visit Tulips and looking for good looking young girls who are good performers as well.
Any suggestions?

Tulip is closed from 12th to 16th of April for the Songran holiday, as will most places in Bangkok.
Opens again on the 17th April.
If you are planning a mongering holiday in Thailand and like massage places then avoid the 12th to 16th as many many places will close and many bars will shut too, as the girls go home for the Thai New Year.

Bareback happens Everywhere and the risk of being infected is there if you choose to partake in this hobby. that's it.
Lifeingr booked a room for an hour and 400thb, he did not feel safe with his provider and decided to walk out.
As far as the shop is concerned, the room was his for the next hour. He could have asked to change girls and they would have done it for him immediately (which they did), or he could have chosen to go back to his room alone for the remainder of the hour.
In any case, there was no reason for him not to pay the 400.
In my opinion, the shop did offer him an alternative so it's not entirely their fault.
Having said that, it I was in his shoes, I would also probably have been put-off and refused the change in lady... paid the 400 and walked out.

I thought of you as an educated man with a "bad Mission" and I somehow, respected that. but lately you try and do everything to prove you're a complete idiot, I think it's time to stop before even the newbies take you for a fool.

You DID get wronged by Tulip, and in a perfect world, it would have ended the way YOU expected. Maybe it would have helped if the boss was there and you could have talked to her. BUT this is not a perfect world, it's Thailand, and you have to view it from their point, through Thai glasses:
TULIP delivered what THEY had promised:- a room, which you did use, even if briefly, and would now have to be tidied up
- a shower, which you did use, if only once
- a towel, which you did use and could not be used again until washed (or at least dried)
- clean sheets (well, hope they were), which would PROBABLY have to be changed (one can always hope, anyway).
- a masseuse for a massage (NOTHING more from the "house") which you found fault with. They did offer you another masseuse, which you refused. Anything extra was between you and the masseuse - Tulip's not 'all-in'.
Yes, it's not "right", and a "good" establishment would have handled it differently, but they chose not to. So you did what you could, will not go back, and warned others to be cautious or avoid.
Now, I have never lived in Thailand, but I've visited often enough that I understand the potholes that exist here. You don't think there's a contribution to the Police Christmas ball fund made by Tulip's... and they're not Christians... I've never seen it but I'm bright enough to know that Tulip has some sort of security around, for emergencies... and the good security, you don't see...
A simple phone call or a scream for help and you might find you have more attention than you want. You HAVE walked out without paying the bill... And do you really want to be answering exactly why you know that there's something wrong with this Thai's vagina to the Thai POLICE?"
Don't know about your neighborhood, but in mine, we can bad mouth all the neighbors, AMONGST ourselves, that we want. But let a stranger, let alone a foreigner, come in, and start taking advantage of a neighbor (from OUR point of view), and you know what? Suddenly, we're ALL brothers (as in brothers-in-arms).
400 baht compared, in the best case, to several hours explaining to the police why you were wronged? Well, to some, might be a lot, but for my hourly rate, damn cheap to be on my way, intact.
Same for "waiting for the boss". I might be willing to wait for 30 minutes, but after an hour... I've got better things to do with my time. Yes, they win, but exactly how much is YOUR time worth? You can try and go to the top, but there comes a time to cut your losses and move on, spending the time posting (at least Aey does read her establishment's reviews ) If it's that big a deal, call, find out the boss IS there, return and complain.
Now I'm sure some here will say that I'm just letting them threaten me as I always do, and get away with it (not quite understanding that while all the facts in an FR are true, some might be overemphasized for "entertainment's" effect). I'm the customer, and have "rights". Fine, go complain to the Better Business Bureau, or the Consumer Protection Agency (as the BKK Post DB column might say, "There's a BBB in Thailand?").
I've been around long enough to understand "discretion over valor", and do understand how easy it is to fall off a curb here. It all comes down to the business card you can pull out of your wallet (no, not YOUR business card, but the card of your Thai powers-that-be friend) compared to the card they can pull out. With Tulip, I'm willing to bet theirs has a "General" in the title, and could trump any that I could produce.
Besides, for 400 baht, you've got a good war story to tell, how you avoided physical injury by being observant, while you wallet wasn't so lucky
Like I say, go with the numbers...

Why are you paying when the goods are damaged?
If your story is true then if you told Mamasan clearly that the girl was sick down below they should not have charged you anything.
Do not let people walk all over you, you are the customer.
Be polite, tell Mamasan sorry the girl is sick. If no success then politely ask to see the the boss to complain.
One trouble with Tulip is sometimes the girls work behind the counter if Mama is not about. So ask to see the boss.
Ignore idiots telling you to just hand over the money and run away, you can stand your ground, be polite and do not get upset, just clearly state your case and ask for the boss.
If mongers make a standpoint, clearly and politely and to the right people it makes things better.
If mongers are stupid and pay and run away then more and more places will try to rip off other mongers.
Stand your ground, in a polite way, at least until the big boss knows the problems.
No doubt if your room at LL is damaged or leaking water or has rats Giotto will similarly advise you to pay in full and not argue.

I am sick and tired of this bullshit.
If this had happened at Annies we would get a complete different comment, and Aey would be the "greedy" massage parlour owner, who sends sick girls to serve customers.
I know Tulips for years now, I watched their development since they evolved from the split/downfall of Barons - and I even know Saeng as a customer. The behaviour of the mamasan[s] in this case match[es] exactly with my experiences: They don't care much about a single customer experience at Tulips. At Annies - they care much more!
I have complained/informed (some times) about bad experiences at Tulips (may be I was the only one in all those years) ... and the reaction was usually a face showing no emotions at all - and presenting me the bill.
Lifeingr,
you did the right thing, let it go, don't create a lot of problems (it's not worth it, and you really don't want to have problems with Thais, really not!!!), but write about it in the internet.
As for our experienced wonnabe Thailand expert: I am surprised that you expect a Thai person to forget about a possible revenue once it obviously was generated (whether the service was lousy or not). That's completetely un-Thai - and people who know Thailand would never write such nonsense. Once the service started it has to be paid for.
It's simply LOUSY advice given here.
Newbies, if you ever get into such a situation, and the question is to pay THB 400 or get into trouble - pay that damned THB 400 and get out of the shop. You don't need to return to that shop, and all you lost is - 13 USD !
If you cannot afford to lose USD 13 in a problem situation - don't come to Bangkok!
