I think that's the point. Using the name to confuse new tourists. One thing, Aey, the manager was a member here, monitored this thread, and would work to resolve any problems. Annie's was my first MP, not just my first soapy. I liked the scrub in the warm water, being able to relax while you were soaped up and washed, an hors the'oeuvres first shot, the B2B on the air mattress, then the service with a 2nd shot. I agree, there were and are better places, but you know what they say, you'll always remember your first as special.

I visited chrome in late October.

Around 10 pm on a Friday.

Nice chatty fella sat me down and told me how it works.

It seems the Annies web site shows which girls moved to Chrome bar, e.g. Nos. 1, 14, 6, 99 etc. May not be totally up to date. No. 3 is not on that list and I don't recall if I know No.3 or not.

I come to Bangkok only one or two times a year, but often times it happens to me that I see a girl that I have seen or dated before on the streets, in another gogo or or somewhere else.

Sometimes the girls even remember me years later. Which is a funny thing when you think about the amount of customers who came to their bars or clubs in the mean time.

This thread makes it sound as though Annies is gone. No reviews, just remembrances of what it used to be like.

Annies closed due to illegal Artesian water use (as with so many other Soapies). Some of the girls moved to both Chrome and Wood bars. However Annies was so famous that they has a much higher customer visitation rate than Chrome or Wood bars, so many Annies girls could not make enough money at Chrome or Wood bar, not being exactly stunning. LOL Therefore only a small number number of Annies girls are left over there, maybe half a dozen or so, and I can't say which ones, as I am not a customer recently. I expect some Annies girls were pretty enough to do okay There.

I doubt that anyone has inside information on where most of the Annies girls have gone to, and some could have gone far, going their separate ways, perhaps some guys will know how to contact specific girls or know where they work, but don't expect too much knowledge. Some forum guys might see an Annies girl somewhere but not be aware she was at Annies. I only know a few by sight and have not been sampling enough other places to bump into them accidentally. I once saw an Annies girl on a far BTS station with her secret BF (or customer). She was trying hard for me to not see her, but was not successful. I think she still worked at Annies at that time.

I visited her regularly in the last years and was highly disappointed when I found Annies was closed. I checked Chrome Bar, but there were only 3 girls and no one knew or wanted to tell me what happened to the Annies staff.

I am a 5-star hotel person so I prefer nice places and Annies was OK for me in those days.

We all have different preferences. The reality is that when Annies started it was THE place to go despite what others say. No need to over-analyze anything.

As I have said before, it's a pity it's gone but times change and so do businesses.

Fact is rooms never went through maintenance.

So what was great in those early years (facilities, sizes etc) became over worn through the times.

A little bit like Nana Hotel. Very spacious rooms for downtown and the price you pay, but everything seems worn out.

Unless you are lucky and get a room with refurbished bathrooms to current standards.

Annie's was a different world in 2006 compared to 2016. I was a frequent customer back then.

Just curious. What was so much better in 2006? I am not of course referring to any clash you may have had with the management in some later year, just what it was like in 2006. I never had any relationship with any of the management whatsoever, however Gop remember's me well enough from several take out bookings a few years back.

My early visits resulted in thinking Aey was the best looker easily, and hence went out without a booking. LOL Hence I never saw the rooms back then. Hard to imagine they ever were better though.

Allover's post seems about right to me. The line up improved in later years in my view. Does not mean a lot of hotties to choose from but I did make bookings. Otherwise change is very slow. I have to admit not being aware of Annies at all except due to the forum. Same goes for Tulip.

Pre 2006 I would have been a regular customer at several Soapies, but not Annies. I probably quit my long term favourite Chao Praya 2, in approx. 2006. It was already in decline after the Thaksin era cleanouts.

Soapies always had such huge signs, they were much harder to ignore pre Internet era, and a buddy first showed me a Soapy "The Thermae" in 1991 (it closed only a relatively short time later), which was located very close to the Miami Hotel and above the Thermae Coffee shop. Thermae obviously means a bath/spa so perhaps some have wondered why a Coffee Shop ws called the "Thermae" in the modern day. LOL

The closing of Annies was really sad to me and seemed to signify the end of an era in BKK. Not that Annies was necessarily my favorite, but the service was good and I had known Aey and the management for ages and I had a lot of good times there. But it was always there, a BKK fixture. I more or less learned about BKK, massage parlors and Thai ladies in the 1990's. It was obviously different then (pre-internet) but now the entire scene just seems different, much more commercial and less user friendly. I still like and enjoy BKK, but the area around Sukhimvit is changing. The rents are increasing and seem to be pushing massage parlors away. It seems harder to find good parlors that are reasonably priced, where they don't charge everything up front, where ladies know they had to entice you go full service.

I used to even enjoy the little dive massage parlors near the Villa Market on Soi 11, occasionally finding a diamond in the rough. They are all gone.

Oh well, nothing good lasts.

Annies rooms were in poor condition forever. I remember them being subpar in the early 2000's. I also thought their girls were extremely well trained even if their looks were below average overall. I remember going there with a wingman in about 2006. Both of the girls got us to come three times (thanks Olive) which never happened to either of us before in a 90 minute period.
