Posts: 993Some liked Annies, many did not
Annies rooms were in poor condition forever. I remember them being subpar in the early 2000's. I also thought their girls were extremely well trained even if their looks were below average overall. I remember going there with a wingman in about 2006. Both of the girls got us to come three times (thanks Olive) which never happened to either of us before in a 90 minute period. I would sum up Annies by saying the rooms were poor and you had to look hard to select an attractive girl. But the service was excellent. I credit Aey and her mama.
Why is it so hard for people to accept that some Annies customers liked the place and some didn't?

Firstly every post containing the word Annie was moved there. A lot of those posts did not belong and were mainly on other topics. Subdivision should not be retrospective. That is too hard. Other better forum subdivisions were suggested, e. G. By Nic Frenchy.
It was just catching the moment of the increased marketing opportunity through the web. It certainly didn't cause its own decline. Might have even extended its life and delayed the decline. The "end" of Annie was the changed mongering approach the more opened and wider access to bkk and its special industry with social media taking a stake. There was no need to fake a Thai massage specialty as the soap massage to access paid sex.
The thread split was caused by complaints about the number of Annies posts (and Tulip) cluttering up the Massage thread.
In addition the annes facilities became old, worn out and so where the girls. Not many new talents as the fresh farm girls didn't need anymore to spend hours in a fishbowl hoping to get picked and earn in 90' what they could earn in a quickie with a ST deed.
The "corporation and affiliation" set up with the too hopeful "Dr. BJ" & co. Was probably a mistake as the soi 7/1 facilities distracted the customer base from the main Rajah comolex historical site. Maybe it was just an attempt to cater to a new busibes.
The real estate project at the Rajah complex (I feel sorry for those who started the Mexican Bar, too early to do that) put all to an end.

Although we've discussed its demise at length I'm still at a loss to understand how with its brand so well recognized and respected it was allowed to go the way it did. Was it the hook up with the inexperienced Soi 7/1 partner, the new business model they pursued or just a loss of interest after mum ceased to be involved.

By 2007, I am sure Livinstone's Lodge in Soi 33 had very good wifi internet. I stayed there a few times. I liked the late breakfast possibility.
I am sure I joined the ISG before 2007 under a different handle. Was suggested to me by a guy sitting next to me in a sex club. I do recall using some internet cafes (very occasionally) and very rarely in Thailand (was one good one in Soi 11), that was because of inconvenience sometimes of dialup internet connections (before broad band generally available). Internet cafes were also not convenient due to many not being setup to provide a Lan plugin to your own laptop. I certainly had dial up internet at home for a few years before I tried the ISG and before broadband became a good option. ISG still had a lot of posters already in 2005 or 2006 when I joined, and I was finally persuaded to try Tulip sometime later when it was already very big on the ISG.
It was a much later year when Annies got its own thread, which was a big mistake, as that was the time its popularity was dying away. I do recall when Annies used to answer posts on the ISG, in the early days I was a member of ISG. Wasn't very worthwhile.

They choose to go after the Soi 4 newbie market but the Plaza, Hillary bars and the other watering holes had more interesting choices and so business was slow. They felt by using the net to create a false narrative and using surrogate posters to rubbish anybody who pointed out the truth they could be successful. These surrogate apologists posed as honest brokers claiming no connection to the owners but their continued rubbishing of those of us who refused to allow the forum to be used in this way showed otherwise.
Despite what some believe the only "positive" posts that attention was drawn to were those that were likely shills. Some of these were amazingly by the management themselves.
Members who posted good experiences which incidentally were few and far between did not have their posts rubbished. Furthermore for anyone to suggest that members of this forum are so timid and frightened to post just because they had a negative response to something they said is both an insult to their intelligence and their character.

I have my sources re Annies and hear that Aey has not left her other shops entirely. Sighted plenty of times (by others). I comment when I believe I have better information. That simple. Sorry I happened to disagree based on what I hear. Aey leaving is most unlikely.
I have met the "Annie" (mother) and chatted to her long ago, however I don't claim very ancient experience at Annies. I also had a chat with a older female staff member who used to be at the Thermae Soapy 27 years ago, and I had old close ties with a friend of hers from the Thermae Soapy.
My latest theory (unproven) is that after an inspection by Authorities, Annies maybe was closed possibly due to illegal use of Underground water, like some other Soapies.
I admit that I did not like the Annies rooms, and did not attend there for well over a year, but I still have contact with someone who ought to know a fair bit about what is going on. I also did not attend Chrome or Wood bars for a long time now, even though I preferred the rooms there. So I did not see Aey with my own eyes recently. Someone else did who has probably little reason to feed me bullshit. Aey was always the "big boss" as far as the girls were concerned, and appeared regularly at all 3 shops (last time the Aey topic came up).
I don't invent or make up information. If I am guessing, I clearly state that, otherwise I try present good info (my viewpoint).

Certainly negative reviews are permitted. Very repetitive criticism posts implying that all positive reviewers had ulterior moves and were full of shit, were not very constructive. It is well known I have no affiliation with Annies or any of its management. I just don't like to see every positive reviewer hounded down.

There were hand bills posted in each room listing their social media outlets which encouraged customers to review them on line. Positive posts were praised and reinforced.
Anytime there was a non-positive review or comments the poster was shouted down as a hater or problem customer. No constructive or honest criticism was permitted.
There were also a ton of 'one time once' posters with glowing reviews on outlets like ISG. Many suspected these reviews were fabricated.
So because of the clutter created by these activities ISG broke Annies out into a separate forum. Tulip was broken out because it was a top spot and genuinely discussed. So as a result all the other massage shops comments were no longer buried.
Not trying to be argumentative. Just how it was. And yes I had been to Annies multiple times. Go back in the threads it is all there.

Posts: 148Stopped by Chrome Bar at noon today. Aey was there handling the SPs. Only three available, all former Annie's girls and looking rather forlorn. Not very promising.
