I have spent many hours chatting with Aey at the bar and I saw AT FIRST HAND how well she ran Annie's on behalf of her mother. This is probably before your time.

When she went missing from the MP ("less time in attendance" to use your phrase) it immediately started to decline.
The fact that it has now closed proves my point. She must no longer have her finger in the pie to any great extent as I am certain she would not have tolerated the decline in both services and amenities.

In total agreement on your analysis. The decline of Annie's and the reasons have been well documented on this forum. Its business model was trading on its brand name to attract newbie visitors through online marketing and achieve higher than normal margins by employing low paid staff. I find it hard to believe they had a regular expat trade, why would anybody who was vaguely familiar with the Bangkok P4P drop 2500 there for unattractive providers in substandard facilities, doesn't make sense and yes the recent management style resulted in low customer experience. I still feel the name has some value and they should consider reopening Annie's at some other location but it will go the same way if they repeat the mistakes of the past. Create a bordello vibe with high end facilities and attractive hostesses, get away from the low end "Bangkok Bangers" BJ "salon" mindset. Hell if they did I might even consider chucking in a mil or two myself for a piece of the action. It was a great place back in the day, drinking a cold one at the bar while chatting with Annie about what you liked and who was best suited to deliver on it. Good memories for sure.

Likely to have been very busy I'm sure and reported to visit all 3 shops, in overseeing mode. Aey has always been the "big boss" in my view, since I became aware of Annies.

Decline I don't know. In my early visits to Annies I did not find any girls doable. In later times, there started to be some girls I would consider. Is that decline? Standard of the girls was the most important thing, although I found it hard to cope with substandard rooms.

There used be another forum starting with W where posters seemed fixated on Annies, over other shops. I don't know why. This was a few years back. They were mostly idiot posters in my view with a lot of smart ass one liner posts like a Twitter setup, and almost zero detailed informative posts. So I got bored with that forum extremely quickly. Never checked it again. Someone might know if Annies is still a dominant topic there.

I guess "Decline" means that punters became aware there were cheaper shops with "prettier" girls or pornstar girls. If I find the right pretty girl that suits me, the shop becomes of low consequence to me.

My post was more directed to questioning why Chrome has not linked itself to the "old" Annie's and included some reference to a re-branding that one assumes is likely to be an improvement.

Anyway, I am not qualified to suggest a business model to bar and MP owners except for around 40 years as a punter, which surely counts for something.

Any chance this is closed for remodeling? I never got in Annies so I have no idea how bad it got in there but most of you guys say it was pretty nasty.

It's possible but I don't know how likely. Don't even know if it's an option or if decision has been made yet. It's unlikely a good answer can be given till Management announces something.

Annies was the most famous P4 P venue in the history of the BKK sex scene. It was even run down the first time I visited in the late 90's. The service was great for many years though. I remember getting my 90 minutes and three pops when I reached an age where I didn't think I could come three times. Olive was my usual provider there and she was quite attractive in her younger years. It's hard to find them tall and skinny like Olive. As Franciscass and Red Kilt have mentioned, I am also surprised Chrome didn't change its name to Annies. I'm not sure why it closed but they had difficulty finding attractive women for quite a while now just like other PPV venues.

I hope the lovely Aey is doing well and will come on this board to say good bye and let us know more about the closing. From reports here it doesn't seem like she is working at Chrome.

I did walk down there once to get a look at the place and some tout came up to me and was pushing some other place down there. I told him that I had already had sex that day and wasn't really looking to fuck, I had just walked down here to see the place because it was famous.

He said "Famous? They not famous. Famous if you like grandmother maybe!

He seemed truly indignant that I had called it famous.

I agree with Francis.

Annie's was my introduction to Sukhumvit sex adventure tours around 20 years ago and since then I have always stopped by there on every subsequent visit (despite the declining quality rooms).

I have had drinks at the bar with the original (and wonderful) Annie herself served by her daughter Aae (spelled in various ways) during the halcyon years. It's a pity Annie's has gone. I think Chrome has lost an opportunity to capitalize in some way on us dedicated and loyal Annie fans by not linking itself more closely to Annie's.

For what it's worth its sad to see the demise of Annie's, I was a big fan in its earlier days but it was inevitable with the business model it employed in recent years along with sadly poor management.

Cream always rises to the top, good looking girls will always make money over their lesser competition. Ugly girls will be forced out, better lookers will stay on. Girls will also be happier with nicer rooms as well.

The reason for closing as stated by the good doc. Was for "a set of smart business reasons", perhaps a problem with renewing the lease, maybe redevelopment of the site but also possibly it just wasn't making money and the smart owners came to the conclusion the name no longer had any value.

Ordinarily this would go in the Bangkok Reports or another thread. But initially it might be Annie's-related. I saw many new faces among the girls sitting outside Kasalong (BJ) Bar off Sois 8 and 6 during the dayshift today. More new ones at one time than I have seen since it opened. I have not studied an Annie's lineup in a few years so can't say if they are Annie's refugees or not. But quite possibly so.

Annies always had unacceptable quality rooms, I think (as long as I remember), so finally this mattered. The staff can be split between Chrome and Wood, but still they will be over stocked until natural attrition normalises it. Annies had a lot of customers, so unless they transfer successfully, girls will be earning a lot less. It is the large regular customer base that meant they never wanted to leave there. Guys just kept coming in the door.

Don't know if will get to rooms full state or not in the new location. Personally I much preferred Chrome and Wood premises despite being in the walk of shame Soi. LOL.
