    The true value of ISG comes to light with posts such as this. I never knew that paying in cash at this place would save that sickning sales tax. Many times I noted how a decent meal in Nicaragua costs more than I thought when I looked at the bill, and saw how expensive the tax is.

    Restaurante La Plancha 11, Managua

    I was in the mood for a good steak so my Novia suggested the above named resturant. Nice place inside with well dressed waiters. We both ordered steaks, but then the other food started coming to the table. First a dish with tortias, and bean paste. Then a very good broth soup. Next came a salad. My steak was rather large, and came with mashed potatoes (excellant ). Also they gave us rice, and french fries and rolls with the yellowest butter I have ever seen.     El Bosque

    In Managua this is a huge resturnat, and disco. On this Saturday night the place was packed with well over 100 people. The people were really into the dancing, and quite a few hotties were out on the floor.

    I tried to order a glass of wine that was on the menu, but the waiter had no clue so I settled for a bottle of water. It appears being a Gringo has some status here as originaly we found a table in the back, and then a waiter took us next to the dance floor. We ordered a combo plate, and it was way to big for two people. I had some of the bean paste, and really liked it. Seems in all my travels I have never tried this common dish.

    Lets see two hienigins (beer) one friut juice, and two waters plus the combo plate came to 517 cords. I thought it was a little high, but then noticed that the government tax was steep. That is one problem when you go to the better plces in Nicaragua. You get hit with that tax.

    All in all I liked the place, and I think a guy looking to dance with Non Pro's should have no problem as many girls were dancing with one another.

    The little fritanga stand

    If you're referring to the stand along the corner, North of the gas station, y una cuadra al lago desde 25 de Mayo, yes, it is still there and still is the older woman. However, they have quit cooking food, and basically its a fresco y fruitas place now. Used to like talking with the woman's daughter who lived in Colorado for awhile. She is now married and not at the stand. The Mom used to cook stuff up with about two inches of cigarette ash from the cigarette in her mouth dangling ever so ready to fall, right above the grill. Never saw her drop an ash however, she knew when it was time. Went there a few times over the last month.

    I remember the old Casa Grande, pretty much of a dump. Over there to the east of Tiscapa. Probably the worst lay of my entire life was there one night. Where was Casa Grande #2? Wasn't aware of that place?

    I used to visit Nicaragua all through the reconstruction phase after Violeta took office. Managua was so shitty back then and it's a total Turd-World cesspool now because of all the people who have moved there in only 15 FUCKING YEARS TIME, the population has doubled since 1991 I imagine but everything was so sparse back then. I remember when I used to go to the Malecon with my Uncles and the rest of the drinking crew it was way out there, dusty, dirty, but damn did they have some good hoes back then. The prices for hoes in Managua seem to have fluctuated a little since then, but I never actually paid for pussy in Nicaragua, you know, getting the red carpet treatment. Back then they had restuarants like El Gaucho, La Plancha #1, #2, #3. Damn, that country sure has changed. They had just finished remodeling the National Palace and had those crappy steel seats installed with no cushioning, where you actually sat in a seat but your ass is resting on concrete so when you got up your spine was shit because you sat down too much. The first year I went back after 10 years away everybody was excited because Juan Luis Guerra was in town and people were going apeshit to get tickets to the concert. Have you ever eaten at the little fritanga stand next to the baseball stadium? I've known that old lady for years, I wonder if she's still there.

    My Uncle (God rest his soul) was a firend of the owner of the 25 de Mayo and all the other strip clubs in Managua. No Nicaraguan worth his maduro cafe would ever go to Josephine's Elite (the one across the street from the Intercontinental) because all the bitches there had a rep of sleeping with too many gringos and a lot of them had AIDS and shit. There are tons of hidden away places where the stupid gringos don't go the would get killed immediately in some of the really fucked up barrios in the city. My Grandma's house was located near the short-lived " Casa Grande # 2 ", I used to love going there because I would hook up with some bitches that I knew from my previous trips to Nicaragua. Yeah, those were the days. One of my female cousins was even madame for a while and had her own stable. PUssy on a open platter like fruit, that's Nicaragua.

    Those hamburger stands on Carretera Masaya

    In front of Matrix, beginning at about 7:30 at night, all night, dish out some of the best hotdogs and burgers in the hemisphere. Go to Iris's cart, she is at the end, Northernmost side. She deserves it, and is one cutie-pie sweetheart Nica with alot of Indian in her.

    Alva works another cart, is a great, great person, but she works for a fat, lazy, tecano, odiosa, evil boss owner who is really just a disgrace to the human race. Alva works real hard, everyone loves her, she sells a ton of burgers nightly, yet she is paid peanuts while the odiosa keeps by far the largest chunk of profits to herself. Love Alva, but boycott her stand.

    3. La Marseillaise. Truly excellent French restaurant with superior beef and a great menu. You can get your meal cooked Nicaraguan style or French style, a truly superior restaurant.

    4. Others: El Churrasco ( more steak ), local stands where you can have fritangas ( you guessed it, beef, pork or chicken plus yuca and gallo pinto, accompanied with a gaseosa ),

    5. REAL Nicaraguan cuisine, what the PEOPLE eat, not the ricachones? Vaho, vigoron, indio viejo, chancho frito, chancho frito con yuca, pescado frito, exotic fare such as garrabo ( a gigantic black lizard ), iguana, cuzuco ( armadillo ), turtle eggs in Pochomil are to die for ( good luck finding those, the gigantic sea turtles that lay those eggs are an endangered species now cos the damn Nicaraguans eat all their eggs!

    6. McDonald's, Burger King, Pollo Campero, Pizza Hut, others ( ah, the effects of U.S. culture on the global village!).

    Come from SoCal, and real Mex stuff is my thing all over there, Tijuana also. I give up around here. It ain't going to happen here. Neither in Panama City. San Jose has a few places.

    Also went again to Tacontento in Galerias Santo Domingo today. Had Tacos de carne asada maybe a year ago there, they were good but a basic simple plate.

    This girl I want to get chubby, as I like the chubb. Tired of paying yuppie prices however for food that is not as good as my own. They asked if I wanted cheese over my burrito, which sucked. They charged excessively for the cheese, the plates, the drinks, the forced propina. Getting back to local C$40 plates here on out. Buy you a nice dress next time baby, then ya can take it off for me real slow like.

    Still trying to bed down a 20 yr. old with lots an lots of pretty India in her. Her voice. She drinks her share.

    Those burgers in front of Matrix, Carretera Masaya, some of the best in the Hemisphere. Ask for Iris, she deserves your hospitality most and is the furthest Northern end.

    There is an Arab restaurant 2-300 meters South of Piratas. There we go to next.

    On line to take Indiagirl to Masachapa, she has two days possible weekly. Not going this week given Semana who or what, all of the country will be there. But in two weeks, it's so far a go. No C$200 gals for me until after this trip. She's going to get it healthy and good.

    There is another Mexican restaurant with several chains. They use to be in the Metro Centro mall.

    There is another Mexican restaurant in the barrio called "el Dorado." It's al norte from the calle principal del Dorado. Pista Don Bosco or something like that.

    The above locales are nothing like Mexico, but the closet to it.
