Is Mansion still the recommended spot for baby's first visit to Colombia? Since I've never been it's hard for me to parse what "stopped girls from coming" means. Are chicas no longer on premises?

I'm terrified of being crimed and would love it if there were some kind of safe space for gringos who barely speak spanish.

If you are terrified by crime, you really need to ask yourself if you are too terrified to enjoy the trip. I don't mean that in a derogatory manner. But if you are that preoccupied, is it worth it? As for the mansion, everything is back to normal. Chicas are readily available, both day and night. And in my opinion, if you rely only on the mansion for fun, you will not run into any crime problems. On my second trip to Medellin, that's exactly what I did and had a blast.

The Mansion's accommodations aren't luxurious by any stretch of the imagination. But that's not what you are after anyway, right? The staff there is top notch and will do anything for you. They are particularly good at advice for a newbie.

My advice to you, if the fear is consuming you, the Mansion is your best option.

I was there last night to scope up the scene. It's a pretty chill bar and more like a lounge to say. I arrived to the mansion around 11 pm. The bar entrance is next door. 50 k entry fee if you are non-guest. First thing I saw was a bunch of retired old white dudes with beers on their hand. Probably one of yall too. I'm literally the only young man there in his 30's LOL. Got me some Corona just to not feel awkward. This lady on her 50's (she look like working but idk LOL) started talking to me because she does not recognize me. I told her it's my first time there and just tried to entertain her. While talking to her, I saw a handful of girls probably ages 18-25 years old or younger. They all look average to me, although, 4 girls caught my attention. I made eye contact and smile. I didn't ask for Whatsapp numbers because the old gringos are watching me LOL. I asked about the Halloween party and they said it will be a busy night so I'm coming back again tonight to collect Whatsapp numbers LOL.

This has got to be the 4th time that I know of since may since they stopped girls from coming. I'm not saying they are shutting their doors I'm just saying the good old days are gone. I am a day person and by the pool is where I pick up most of my new contacts, so do many of the guys who go there. I hope you are right that this is a temporary measure I got 3 trips scheduled over the next 6 months.

All we know for certain is that in the last two weeks they have stopped letting girls hang by the pool daytime, while girls on dates are still allowed in as usual. This may simply be a short-term measure to get things to 'cool down'. The club is still operating as usual, with probably more girls (one girl who used to only go daytime messaged me she is hitting the bar tonight and tomorrow, so that reinforces that idea). I'd wait for further reports, especially ones where people talk to the managers and owners and can give better clarity.

It's free, they get free drinks, and their girlfriends are there. Many have to leave their house by a set hour to be out for the night by claiming a waitressing job or similar, so they just hang out here. Then they can be on their phone to see if they can hook up with a client (which will most likely be in the Poblado area), talk with friends, maybe get free food (a lot of guys get food for the girls), and maybe a couple of them decide to a Park Lleras walk (you will see 3-4 leave for 2-3 hours and then return). Etc. It's basically a safe base of operations for the night. All the better for us guys. I don't necessarily think the girls will stop coming to the bar because of all that.

Want to turn the club into a wild strip club? Convert $200 K COP into $2 k bills (bar has stacks), sit in the dance area, and start offering. Before you know it all 25 will be dancing topless (or more) on your lap and letting you touch and magically (are they texting continually) somehow 10 more appear out of nowhere. I have done this 3-4 times when bored and it beats any strip club experience.

Now, the news that they stopped girls from coming to the pool during the day is concerning, since I love hanging by the pool during the day. I'm going there this Thursday, so I will report back what the scoop with that is.

I have received openings of rooms and it is actually fairly full and the remaining rooms for Halloween will probably be taken soon. I have no interest in Halloween parties, in fact I hate them. I don't get turned on by girls with witch hats on and intentionally uglifying make-up.

Planning on attending this party. I've read that you need to purchase a ticket in advance. Do you buy it online? Where do you get the ticket? Is it mandatory to wear a costume?

If you are already in Medellin, just go to the club at night to buy a ticket. If you are not, you need to track down the bar manager to WhatsApp him to ask him to hold one for you (I have no idea if / how they do that for non-guests). Nothing online. The bar is a separate operation from the hotel, but you could ask them for the contact info for the bar manager. Not sure if they give that out to strangers though. I don't think costumes are required for guys, but you may want to get in the spirit. As most everyone does.

You are exactly right with many of your posts. I bring a lot of US 1's and pass them out in the bar & they'll swarm you dancing. Also the Mansion is usually full especially since they've closed off M2 to guests cause of Greg. Lots of the guys staying there have appointments already and don't go down to the bar at night. They are understandably real cautious to new guests.
