Posts: 755I'll Still Try Mansion Out
Since I'll be going down there for my very first time in May, I'll still try the Mansion out especially since I'm not that great with Spanish. I'm not worried about any lack of daytime options since I plan to hit New Life, Energy and maybe Loutron during the daytime. I'm also there on a Thursday to Sunday so as long as the three evenings I've got are decent at the bar, I'm okay with it. If Thursday night is a bust, I'll hit Loutron before they close or one of the clubs.
For those who are familiar with this place, is the walks to the closest Metro stations doable? I know there are some hills to manage.
Also, are there any Colombian food within walking distance? I don't really care about any American fast food places like McDonald's which I know is nearby or some other cuisine that's not Colombian since part of my travels involve eating local.

My era at the Mansion was between 2011 and 2018. What a great time that was. No FB, just pure Mansion girls at the pool during the day, at night up at #2, years later at the bar in #1. There were so many incredible things about the place I cherish these memories. The current Medellin just sounds jaded, dangerous, and almost entirely spent. Conversely though, when I got there in 2011, many talked about the good old days being long gone. W Robert gone and Greg incapacitated the Mansion must surely be on it's last legs.

Thanks for the current info. I'm sure there's a good way to enjoy Medellin but it's no longer the old way.

I'm lined up few SA girls but I would always like to see in person and choose. So what would you recommend for day time being in Mansion? I can't just wait until night to hit bar at night may be like get contacts in night and use them for mornings.
Any feedback would be appreciated guys. Thanks. !

Just got back. Ladies are still not allowed at the pool in the daytime.
I think if a couple have finished up business the lady can hang out with her man for a while but in the daytime the pool area is basically as quiet as a church on Wednesday.
Mr. Robert is long gone, Mr. Greg is not in the best health and Alexa has moved on.
The bar is open in the nighttime but if it isn't a Friday or Saturday who knows if any more than 6 ladies shows up.
Most of the rest of the property continues as always but if you don't have a collection of "friends" to call on or if it is your first time down it will be a bit of a dry season for you.
All the girls and most of the guys talk about how much the situation sucks but the latest word is the city is tired of looking the other way as the property has violated various codes and rules over the years and the next crackdown could be the permanent closing of the "hotel". The chicas are especially upset by the business situation at the Mansion.
Other rumors say the place is in the process of being sold. Others say that females will be welcome back in the daytime with open arms in a couple of months.
No one knows for sure except those who know and who knows who they are.
If you are going there next week. Probably OK.
If you are making reservations for 6 months from now. Good luck.

Posts: 2467Which are the best rooms at the Mansion?
I have a close friend that wants to go to the Mansion for the first time. I haven't been there in many years so I'm asking the vets which rooms are the best rooms and which ones should he avoid and why. Thanks in advance.

I assume there will be a party today. I've gone to most of them since 2012. These events are not what they used to be. The past 4-5 years the energy and talent have been diminishing. Its not been fruitful at all. Now, I read here that the catalysts (Robert, Alexa, etc.) are gone. So, I sit here debating whether to attend. I have some other reliable options.
Opinions about tonight?

Posts: 755Still Business As Usual As Of Today
Even as I contacted them today, the staff still claim that an ownership change is just a rumour and nothing has changed in terms of operating business. Think I'll wait just a bit more before booking for May / June.

It is undeniably safer than many other options. But certainly anything could happen. It's been many years since they've had any incident like that robbery.
I'd agree on the decline. And not even so much about the accomodations, which are not great. But the last year has been horribly inconsistent. At different times, they've banned all girls from the pool during the day and then allow them back. Only to change their policies again. The bar has been closed more than once. And one time was a couple weeks. You just don't know what to expect from them anymore, other than 2-star accomodations.

Heard there might be change in management and / or ownership soon which might affect how Hotel M does business. Any news on this?
