It's just a downstairs bar where the girls hang out. You can order drinks just like at a regular bar. You meet the girls in the bar area, get to know them a bit, then invite them upstairs for some fun. The bar is connected to an open-air terrace as well, so the girls can step outside the bar area to smoke in the little side-terrace area. After around 6 or 7 pm, the music comes on and you can dance with the girls if you want. The downstairs bar doesn't even open up until around 6 pm at the earliest.

Oh, and there are no "activities" that occur in the bar, except perhaps chatting, drinking, smoking, and dancing. That's it.

Do you have to stay at the Mansion to go to the Cave?

The Mansion is just a freaking blast. It's fun for me to hear stories like Lada's. I am a loner too and it is a nice change when I visit the mansion w / all the like minded mongers to joke around w.

I'm headed for San Salvador soon where the pussy is also pretty fine but no mansion for added support. It will force me to work on my Spanish all the more. I'll probably call Alexa soon and see what the availability is in December.

This past trip over the holiday and into part of the week I stayed over at M1 and am sure glad I did. I RTFF and even then I still felt overwhelmed and under prepared for my 1st trip to Medellin. Luckily most of the guys I met there were experienced travelers and mongers and friendly as well! Hell, as soon as I got in I went next to the pool to RTFF some more and was immediately offered a shot of tequila! The hotel was awesome for me because for the past 13 years I've always been solo on my mongering escapades. Being able to swap stories, get info on new places, and hear (and not read) trip reports from fellow like minded people really is what made the mansion for me. Needless to say the accessibility of the women was definitely the main reason I booked there, but the social aspect was a great plus.

I initially booked my room for Sunday to Wednesday thinking that I'd stay somewhere else for my last night of the trip, but after having tone of fun at night there is decided to extend one more night at M1 (luckily they had 1 opening). Needless to say, but the staff was great...

Why fuck with the girls on facebook when you can go directly to them on Colombian Cupido for example? I am guessing you are only going to be in Medellin for a a short amount of time so why even waste your time with facebook or any other websites? Just stay at the gringo lodging or go to the casas. You will have all the girls you can handle.

OP, I respectfully disagree. Facebook can be a gold mine, especially if you do repeat trips, and it can come in handy. Hotel M is another venue that can be very effective for a newbie, as FB prospects can take some time to mine.

One downside was that I was expecting a party the night I got in but I either must have missed it by a day or 2 or they just didn't have one.

As any recommendation, YMMV. But I would easily recommend staying at the mansion, hang out near the pool of M1 during the day, and head down to the cave at night for anyone that is thinking about making their first trip to Medellin.

As a side note, thanks to all the guys there during my stay that made my down time (damn rain!) and the relaxation time between sessions more enjoyable!

First time venturing out of my comfort zone and trying something different.

I'm fortunate that work has taken me through most of SE Asia, S America, CR, etc.

Colombia always had my attention but I never had a business purpose to visit. One finally came up and I jumped.

I stayed at M2 and in retrospect, was glad I did.

It was exactly as I expected with great staff and close proximity to M1. The other guests were a great time and were more than willing to help walk me through the basics. How many times have we all done that over the years? Was good to be the newbie in a new city on the receiving end of some help.

Food, rooms, service, daily laundry, easy access stocked kitchen with drinks (for purchase) if you run out of beer, water, soda, vodka, etc.

WIFI was excellent. Forgot the name of the night manager but he was spot on spending time with the guests and making recommendations.

I wouldn't think twice about staying there again. In fact, now that I think of it, I'm staying there this weekend!

Mani, I was there last January and M2 does indeed have a pool. I found the M2 pool to be much larger with more exposure to the sun than the M1 pool with lots more space around it than the tiny M1 pool. True, M2 doesn't have the bar you have to walk a few minutes to M1 for that. Here's some pics of the smaller M1 pool. Geo.

Sorry, my bad. It has been quite a few years since I have been to M1 and have never stayed at M2,only visited my wingman who was staying there. Old age is getting to me, LOL.
