So my last trip I stayed in the Mansion in one of the nicer rooms. 106 for those who know the mansion well. I'm going back and forth about whether to stay this time per my previous post. My newbie friend is coming along and I offered to pay his lodging. I found a great airbnb about 2 block from Lleras for $200 usd (total) for the 3 nights we are there. I remember the last time I went solo the Mansion was under $75 usd per night but now the total bill for 2 rooms for 3 nights is going to be $600 usd.

Have prices gone way up? Am I missing something here, becuz I'd truly prefer to stay in the mansion.

Just curious I'll be in town, Monday thru Wednesday at the end of the month. I've stayed in both an airbnb and the Mansion in the past. My preference is the Mansion because it felt so safe and non-judgemental. The airbnb had a ton of no sex tourism signs etc, which was really annoying. I'm planning on staying there but wondering how dead it will be. Bar and poolside.

Had a buddy that was at the Mansion last week. Said everything was running normal. Good selection poolside day 6-10 and in the bar varies from 10-20. If you want to go to the Mansion, hope they have space for you. Only M1 is open for guests now. I book 6 mo-1 yr or more out.

Peak times are around 10-midnight. About 10-20 girls, it varies, they flow in an out. Was there Thursday and Friday night and it was good. Around 12:30 is when you see girls decide if they want to head up to Lleras to hit the clubs.

Really bummed to hear of both Greg's health and the state of the Mansion.

Seeing Alexa, Robert, and other familiar faces is a big part of why I've frequently stayed there.

Is Elkin (the night guy) still around?

Elkin doesn't work nights anymore. Talked to him & he is only working 1 day per week helping with the books.

I was just there, Greg is isolated in M2. Had 1 leg amputated below the knee. Now the other leg is bothering him. Did not see him this trip down in M1. Other notes, Robert is gone. Heard he's hiding in Mexico for some reason. Alexa has found a better job elsewhere with high er pay and more opportunites for advancement. She only works at M1 a couple days a week only in early morning like 7 am, so it's rare to catch her. So seems like no one is in charge there. Unfortunately I think the future is iffy for the Mansion. Things were still running smoothly for my 10 day stay & I just returned to the States. About 6-10 daytime chicas at pool and 6-20 night in the cave.

Sorry to hear of Greggs troubles he is a tough guy and will deal with whatever is thrown at him.

Robert has always been shady and several times in the past needed to go on the lamb so no surprises there.

Greg was down for the Halloween party for a little bit in his wheelchair. He seems to have lost lots of weight.

Is Mansion still the recommended spot for baby's first visit to Colombia? Since I've never been it's hard for me to parse what "stopped girls from coming" means. Are chicas no longer on premises?

I'm terrified of being crimed and would love it if there were some kind of safe space for gringos who barely speak spanish.

If you are terrified by crime, you really need to ask yourself if you are too terrified to enjoy the trip. I don't mean that in a derogatory manner. But if you are that preoccupied, is it worth it? As for the mansion, everything is back to normal. Chicas are readily available, both day and night. And in my opinion, if you rely only on the mansion for fun, you will not run into any crime problems. On my second trip to Medellin, that's exactly what I did and had a blast.

The Mansion's accommodations aren't luxurious by any stretch of the imagination. But that's not what you are after anyway, right? The staff there is top notch and will do anything for you. They are particularly good at advice for a newbie.

My advice to you, if the fear is consuming you, the Mansion is your best option.
