Never been but planning a trip to Columbia. What is the mansion you are all talking about?

Its a large house that was converted into a "Hotel". It used to allow girls at the pool during the day time. It has an attached bar that girls come too during the evening. Guests who stay there are exclusively other guys coming to Colombia for girls. I think its a great place for first timers to Colombia and those that have no Spanish skills.

The Hotel M says they are adding an extra charge of 3,600 COP to my bill for 'traveller insurance'. This was not in the original quotes so don't know if it's just an extra money grab but fortunately it's not very much. Any of you also get this charge?

Most of that route is quite safe. The exception would be when you pass through Parque Presidente (a couple blocks before Calle 10 - you'll see the ravine to each side of you). That area is pretty deserted and dark at night time so good place to rob someone. I've transited it several times, but I was very alert and ready to run if anyone got close to me.

Is the walk to and from Parque Lleras at night safe if I go up the main big street to Parque Poblado and then turn to Calle 10 into Parque Lleras and back?

I had no trouble with that walk when I was there in Feb. Be aware of your surroundings, of course.

Guys like me have a roster, so I just call them in. A few guys hanging poolside daytime. Most are making casa runs. Guys say energy has great lineup now & going to new life too.

That's awesome news. Those are the two casas I want to visit during the daytime. From the many videos of Centro, it doesn't look like the vast majority of the streetwalkers will be my type despite the low costs.

And I just confirmed with the hotel that they are still providing the breakfasts in the morning.

OK this is for anyone currently at the mansion or been there recently. I am trying to make a decision between there and Thailand. Been to the mansion 20+ times and I would just do Thailand but I only have 10 days and with jet lag and travel I felt it wasn't enough time so I am currently booked at the mansion for the end of April. My issue is that if they don't allow girls to hang out during the day it kills a social aspect of the place that made it worthwhile going to. I can't imagine a full house of men hanging by the pool with no girls there. Yes I have a roster of women I can call in so that's not an issue. Can someone tell me if it’s just a full house of men just doing their own thing with no girls at all. If that's the atmosphere and you have to deal with just the bar at night (which is fine but I'm a day person) I'm just going to bite the bullet and deal with a short fatigued Thailand trip. Please update on environment. Anyone.

I thought that lots of guys who stay at the Mansion are actually out much of the day either visiting casas or doing general tourist stuff. That's what I plan to do and hopefully tag along with guys doing the same. I can go out solo too but if there are guys who are already familiar with the city, I might as well go out with them.
