club x should be shut down. i walked into club x with simona;classicos had not closed yet. so club x was almost empty. i was already weaving but simona ordered 3 shots of tequila; 2 for me and one for her, and a coke. 5 minutes later the bill is 1800 pesos. i laughed and said now way will i pay that. before i knew it some huge security monster all in black was shaking me by the neck like crazy. he punched my in the eye with a ring on his finger and broke my plastic glasses (lucky i wear them for such occasions in sosua becasue i was hit by a flying bottle in classicos before; 11 stitches). this guy was wide-eyed and dragged me across the entire discotecque from the front to the back into the bathroom and was about to rap my head against the wall when simona freaked and he stopped. but then he dragged me into a small room and continued to punch me as i was on the floor. all this while i was yelling "voy a pagar; i'll pay". but i had only 1000 pesos left. so simona went into the street to liik for her friend (gringo) who forked over the rest of the money. i was in the hospital for 2 days with a corneal abrasion. my attorney said it is no use to do anything cause security works at the club for tips only so i can't sue the club. also unless the injury lasts for less than 21 days it's a slap on the wrist. the guy admitted to politur that he did it but he was drunk. people asked me if i wanted this to be taken care of the old fashioned way and i said, leave it alone. the best revenge is lsing business; to let all the gringos know that the club is unsafe for you. i will do this by posting a pic of my eye in living color here and in on the back of the weekly color periodical in sosua. many times.

if any gringo in there make sure to have 2 trusted wingmen watching and ready to rock if things get crazy when the bill comes.

i agree about the chicas on avenida independencia. like you say you got to chat with them for a bit first. still no guarantee but your chances of having a good time are a lot better. another good spot on independencia is the colmado across from navarro. i grab a seat, get a prez or some brugal and just wait for the chicas to come and go.

Back from SD, It was an overall good expirienced. I did a little bit of sightseing, not much though. I went to a few casas; three on pasteur and independencia. The girl house had consistently better loking girls, 2,500k for domenicans and 6k for the brazileras. 305 was also good. they have the most girls; Girls at this house were nicer and really friendly, price was 3,500. First time to DR, any special reason why you picked Santo Domingo and not Sosua?

In Santo Domingo right now. I've beeen in Sosua for a while. Surprised that on Ave Independencia hot girls are asking only 700 pesos for mucho fikifiki. I think I'll stay awhile.

Sosua is safe, just don't bring anything of great value. Laptop, digital camera, mp3 player are the major expensive items that guys bring and you can lock them in the safe or put a cable lock on your laptop, if it is too big for the safe. Put a password on your laptop in case it is stolen. I may buy a ten inch netbook laptop, they are small enough to fit in most safes and they seem much easier to use on a plane.

I have been out all night in Sosua, Boca Chica and Santo Domingo, and never really had any problems. Don't get drop dead drunk. Try to stay away from the tigres (the tiger chicas) overly aggressive chicas. If your room has a safe lock your valuables in the safe, especially when you have a chica in the room. If the room has no safe, hide your valuables.

I have been out alone and driven to many parts of the island alone. Keep a low profile, you will have fun.

Hotel Jaguar is a small one behing the Jaragua. Yeah, confusing name, but the rooms have the biggest safes I have ever seen. Can fit a small person inside, or a few 17" laptops with room to spare. Has fridge, sink, big ass bed, internet. The guy who runs it is a monger wanna be, and ao the place is chica friendly as can be. Girls need cedulas or need to leave after 2 hours, with a tip for the guard. Parking is onsite and free. Close to ave ndependencia where there are tns of girls waiting around between 10pm and 5am. Best place on malecon to score is between Hyatt hotel and the gas station. Haitians and spinners hang at the traffic circle in Colonial Zone. Just head east on ave independencia. If you aren't staying at a chica friendly hotel, the cabanas are about 2 miles past the gas station, going West down Malecon. Fast drive. Do not go down Avenida GOmez after midnight uless ou ferl the need to be hassled. Most street girls are true street girls and just want the quick fuck. Some are great. Like playing wheel of fortune. Can often not tell a great one from a looser by street chat alone. On the other hand, girls in sosua play for keeps and want you as their boyfriend as long as possible. After 24 hours disco fever will set in and you will be asked for new shoes jajajaja

thats racism too. if you are cruising gomez any time after 1am they will haul yo ass over just for being a gringo. i paid for my rentacar to have dark shades just cause of that. i swear, no lie, 3 out of 4 times i croused off the malecon strip in sd i was pulled over. twice for supposed speeding, once for supposedly running a red. ina when they said i rad the red, i made sure i stopped before the line and did not run the light casaue i saw them on the corner. then each time they pulled me out of the car, asked for registration and said i had big problems, that we needed to go to ther palacio. the forst time i told them i would pay whatever fine was needed right there cause i didn't have my registration. they took 5 mil. the other times they said theat i owed a fine and that if i paid at the palacio it would be alot more. i laughed in heir face and said i wanted to go to the palacio now, cause i had a high powered attorney that had questions for them. these were 3 sets of different cops btw. they than said, oh, no no no, we just pulled you over to protect you and ask you if we can escort you to your hotel. my advice is to pay a free visit to a super high powered criminal attorney, and ask for some cards. then pass his card to an offending policeman with a smile. so if you have done nothing wrong, don't take no shit. if shit happens tho, the same amount of bucks will set you free; not the truth.

i now have shaded windows in my car but previously have been pulled ovr numerous times in sdq. been accused of running reds, crossing white lines and being gringo. i just politely deny it, argue with them and finally say let's just go to your stations so i can pay my fine. usually they will state that they just want to help you and you can just pay them there. i always insist on going to the station and it always ends with vaya con dios. and the only time i've ever been asked for my passport was when i ran a red on independencia hit a motorcycle cop (also running the red) with my sideview mirror trying to get to a hotel in time to to see the superbowl with jaososua. argued my way out of that one too!

i have been in the sosua police station very early in the morning and saw when they released all the guys and girls they picked up the prior night. i was detained in the sosua police station after some crazy light skin santiago chica tried to stab me as she was trying to steal a cell phone from my room. i am as white as white bread.

i have been pulled over and been told to stop my car numerous times by the dominican police. part of life in the dominican republic, the police can pull you over for nothing. i am nice to them, i chat with them for a few minutes and they let me go. if you want to be nice, you can offer to buy them a beer. the united states embassy has a 24 hour phone number in the dominican republic. i have the phone numbers for the us embassy in santo domingo and its american citizens unit, stored in my dominican cell phone just in case. when i am driving, i usually carry my passport.

Not sure if they are racist. I have been in a good number of dominican homes. Skin color varies in the same family. One daughter can be light skin and the other daughter is black. I would guess most Dominicans have people in their family who are black, I would think it would be difficult to be racist when members of your family are black. With tourism down, I doubt the authorities in Sosua want to be pissing off tourists. There might be more to the story. Some Dominicans don't like Haitians, other Dominicans have great things to say about Haitians. I doubt many Haitian males hang out in Classicos, so if the cops are looking for Haitian males I doubt they would go to Classicos to find them.
