I received this announcement from Wilfried a couple of days ago. This is promising to say the least!

After almost 2 years since I parted company with the Hotel New Garden (NG). I have spent the last one and a half year working on a number of Hotel opportunities.

With my 4 years at the New Garden, I have acquired an understanding of what is most important for your comfort and those ingredients which make the difference between an ok stay and a great one!

It has been a real quest to find a property in Sosúa that will deliver the quality of accommodations in the right location. After working through a number of different locations I have settled on this one: Hotel Casa Cayena.

I am in the process of closing the final details this month and intend to be in full service operation by December 15th. I am the majority owner and the Hotel manager. I would like to share the good news with you.

The location of the Hotel is on Dr. Rosen just up from the new beach and the park that the town put in a few years ago. The property is not to large (25 rooms) making it a 'Boutique Hotel'.

The rooms are furnished with comfortable king (or two double) beds, flat screen TV's, refrigerators and safes. Bathrooms are clean and comfortable. Air conditioning has been recently renovated.

I intend to deliver the same high quality service that you use to receive at New Garden when I was working there, with some of the same staff. Breakfast will be included in the room rate.

I will be staying on site, so you can be assured that the level of attention to detail will be a commitment of all staff 24/7.

I am really looking forward to seeing all of you again and will provide you additional updates in the very near future.

i would think the sosua effect is worse, suicide attempts, credit card pile up, just look at the jailed drug dude 3500 dollars and he is out and he is 62 years old with nothing, i think wtf? but i know nothing surprises me there, he would be the rich one if you averaged them out.

a dominican dude told me that ex pats eventually fall into one of three categories. 1). the ex pat that flies low and hangs in mostly gringo friendly spots. 2). the ex pat that gets hooked on drugs. 3) the expat that turns to different sexual adventures (gay, **** girls, or abnormal freaky shit).

i've known ex pats that live in the campo and are normal guys, so i don't really believe what that dominican says, but you never know.

Study: Watching Porn Tied To Short-Term Memory Loss

LAS VEGAS (CBS LAS VEGAS) – Watching excessive amounts of online pornography can adversely affect a person's short-term memory and decision-making ability.

In the first study of its kind, German scientists linked the brain's ability to complete a task, reason, and understand concepts with people's viewing of pornographic images. The 28 heterosexual men in the University of Duisburg-Essen study were tasked with viewing a combination of pornographic and non-pornographic pictures while also trying to keep their order straight.

The men – an average age of 26 – viewed the pictures and were asked to touch a 'yes' or 'no' key to indicate whether the mixed sexual and non-sexual images had been seen four slides before. The study found a significantly greater amount of wrong answers from the men who viewed more of the pornographic images.

The men who saw slideshows of clean images scored an average of 80 percent correctly, while men who were viewing the pornographic images only scored 67 percent correctly.

The researchers believe that the findings could help psychologists and psychiatrists to better understand why Internet-porn addicts miss appointments, neglect relationships and even forget to sleep. Previous research linked the processing of sexual images with the areas of the brain that are responsible for emotion, arousal and attention.

'Sexual arousal interferes with working memory, an important facet of executive functioning, ' study author Christian Laier, a graduate student studying under psychologist Matthias Brand, told The Daily Mail. 'Sexual arousal and its impacts on cognitive processes might explain parts of these negative effects. '

Previous research found that watching pornography can actually cause some parts of the brain to shut down in order to redirect blood and cognition toward the parts of the brain responsible for sexual arousal.

The findings were published in the November edition of the Journal of Sex Research, and the researchers said they are now looking to conduct more tests with subjects other than heterosexual young males.

'The study is a first step, ' writes Laier. 'Our results need to be tested with respect to gender and sexual orientation to verify. '
