Posts: 2409No alcohol sales on election day
I was in Cabo during the last election when alcohol sales was prohibited. Most bars were closed, or serving only non-alcoholic drinks. Sales of all alcoholic drinks was even forbidden at markets. Needless to say, my vacation was ruined. Most Mexicans probably stocked up before hand and stayed home and got shit-faced rather than going to the voting stations.
Mexico should start serving alcoholic drinks at voting stations. That would probably boost attendance 10 times. You probably could not stop Mexicans from wanting to vote again and again all day. That may put some sense into Mexican politics.

Posts: 2409Kim Mon Chinese Restaurant / La Perla's new owner
La Perla was closed last week for remodeling. A new owner had bought over the place.
I instead went to Kim Mon, the Chinese restaurant at the end of the alley, on Nino Hero. The food was unusually good and the beer was cheap. Just remember each order is big enough for 2 persons.
La Perla was opened this week and was redecorated by a new owner. They hired a bunch of new waitresses who were much thinner and prettier than the porkies who used to be there. They were bringing out the raw clam appetizer and consomme on the house which were excellent. The beers are still $1.
La Perla is going upscale with the same cheap menu but with much better service and classier decoration. It's a must visit place for all mongers. Highly recommended.

Posts: 2409Yep. Canadian Immigration/Custom agents are stupid assholes
Especially in Vancouver, where their wives and girlfriends turn tricks for peanuts.
Be very careful dealing with Canadian custom assholes. If you dress casually and enter Canada by yourself, they figure you are seeking to fuck their wives for cheap, therefore they get jealous.

I am not convinced until Team Juanita appoints me as their QC VP, responsible for personally checking out 100% of their inventory and their services, whenever I see fit.

Posts: 2409Border agents have to act like professionals.
they should not be harassing anyone. they have to obey the laws like the rest of us. if they don't, take down their name, time, place, facts, witnesses etc... and write to the homeland insecurity bosses.
they have to investigate and report any resulting actions. if they don't, write to your congressperson and complain about specific persons' lackof responsibilities. they could get the boot and miss their minimum-wage jobs. you can sue the assholes for damages if you have good evidences and witneses. don't be intimidated by these low-level government employees.
i was harassed by a philipino agent. he could smell the chicas' perfume in my clothes and became very jealous. i assume he could never afford the chicas on his wages. i answered all his stupid fucking questions while wrote down date, time, his name, badge number and notes. he was shaken badly. he asked me why i had to write down his name. i calmly told him i am an attorney who likes to collect facts. he really shit in his pants!
last year at miami int airport on my way to bs as, the homeland insecurity morons made a nice girl take off her blouse and jeans right at the check point, next to their stupid body scanner, while thousands of horny travellers walking past, gawking. i really thought it was a gross abuse of their peons' power. if they made me take off my pants, i would [CodeWord111] and defecate all over their fucking check point and claim temporary distress. 'oops, could not hold it, czar.' then i would sue the shit out of them for large damages.
the girl happened to sit right next to me in the plane. she turned out to be a nice, sweet, gentle argentinian girl, a permanent us resident, who lives in miami, going back to outside bs as to visit her dad. she could not hold back her tears for having been violated so badly. the idea did come into my mind to offer to comfort her by making love passionately with her in the empty plane during the long night, hehehe. she was cute and i have a nice, sexy place to crash in miami beach.
you should know your rights and willing to defend those rights. otherwise the assholes in the world would just run right over you.

Posts: 2409Korean businessman kidnapped in TJ
I read a news report last week about a Korean guy, running a little maquiladora, who was kidnapped in TJ. They demanded $1 million ransom. No ransom was paid and the guy has not been found.
It's a pity the kidnappers did not know this guy was losing a shit load of money with his little fucking shop in TJ. His Mexican workers keep fucking up his contracts making him liable. His family could hardly raise $10K in cash even if his life is endangered.
A few months ago, there were also news reports of Japanese executives of major electronics companies kidnapped in TJ. Most Japanese executives have since moved to living quarters in San Diego and commute to work in TJ with body guards.
With all this briberies, extortion, violence and kidnapping, international companies may pull out of Mexico in favor of cheaper wages and better security, not to mention better educated people, in region like China etc... In fact, I know at least 12 large companies that moved their production out of Mexico in the past 2 years.
While the stupid ass-fucked policia are too busy ambushing Gringos for cerveza money around La Zona Roja, the banditos are again freely ruining the life of the good and humble Mexicans.

From downtown TJ go east on the highway towards TJ airport.
The Otay Mesa crossing is on the main East West road and on the Northeast side of the airport. There are many road signs so you cannot miss it.
The delay crossing Otay by car is probably worse than San Ysidro in the day time due to commercial traffic. At night I believe it's closed after 10PM.

I went to La Perla on Friday night with a few friends for dinner before the action. It's near Adelita. This place is a nice, clean seafood restaurant with an authentic thatch roof made of palm leaves. Very nice place to have dinner, before or after action, with their $1 beers.
The Almeja in concha, marinaded mixed raw seafood in clam shells, was very good and juicy, only costs 24 pesos each, a great bargain.
The botana con camarron y pulpo, shrimp and octopus cocktail with spicy sauce, was very good and fresh for 110 pesos.
The shrimp cocktail was good for 110 pesos.
The raw oyster was 160 pesos for a dozen. The oyster was fresh but tiny compared to those served in the US, not worth the money.
They also serve delicious seafood and meat tacos and burritos for about 10 pesos.
I found the spicy seafood can really boost my libido. This place is a very nice place with cheap beers and excellent seafood to have meals while being serenaded by live Mexican bands wandering in from the street.
The girl at the cash register was flirting openly with me but she was way overweight. She would have to knock off at least 50 lbs and put on a pretty face before I will look at her again.
After meals, we went to HK, disgusted by the looks of the girls. I went out and did 2 of my favorite street girls. When they know you, the street girls can deliver some very passionate fucking. Roxanna, who hangs out in front of the Miami bar, is a fine chica. She probably enjoys the sex more than I. She should start paying me instead, hehehe.
Life is good.

Everyday there are perhaps up to 20 thousands Americans who cross the border into TJ for work and for play. Obviously not too many got into troubles or you would not see too many going to TJ. You should be OK in La Zona Roja in TJ if you minimize your exposure as follows:
1. Walk across the border. Don't drive over.
2. Carry only $200-300 cash and driver license/passport.
3. Take a $5 cab right after crossing the border. Tell the cabbie to drop you off right in front of Adelita or Chicago Club.
4. Go in the bar immediately, don't hang around outside too long.
5. Drink, check out and negotiate deals with any girls, usually $50-60 for ST.
6. You can walk around the alleys behind Adelitas, where there are lots of tourists, and pick up street girls, usually $30 plus $5 for the room.
7. Don't wander too far outside of the zona, especially at night, as you may be robbed or arrested by the policia.
8. If you have to go anywhere, take a cab. Stay in the hotels near Zona Roja if you have to sleep over.
During day time, you should be safe on most major streets. I have been going to TJ hundreds times days and nights. I have never been molested, robbed or arrested. Just dont set yourself up like walking by yourself down dark alleys, getting into fights with drunks, or hanging around with drug pushers etc... You should be OK. Mexicans are usually easy-going, unlike the uptight Gringos. Try to kid around a little with them, they can be friendly and a lot of fun.
Have fun and post your experiences for everyone's benefits.
