You are the French guy who could not wait to go to Seibu. I have been many times to BKK, Pattaya, Phukhet, Chang Mai, Hatyai etc... and Southern China is my favorite. The girls are prettier, easier access and they feel less mercenary...

I second your observations. Flying through LAX or SFO too numerous to count times, I have never seen "piles" of anything. This, I suspect, is at best an exageration and at worst bravado and a lie. On the otherhand, too many reports of customs catching people with pirated DVDs, possibly true, I don't know firsthand.

That’S the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. In the last three years I’ve come through Chicago, LA, and SFO probably 30 times and I’ve never seen US Customs with a pile of counterfeit handbags. Hell, what else would people bring back from China? If you look at the regulations you are ALLOWED to bring back one counterfeit item (handbag, watch, etc.). The Customs people are not interested in us, they’re interested in the people who are really trying to smuggle. A $25 LV handbag isn’t going to get their attention. If it does it certainly isn’t going to get you a hefty fine and you won’t go to jail.

Handbags, DVDs and Rolex watches for all your friends back in the States in your luggage? Well, you will certainly be in good company, as probably 80% of your fellow passengers are doing the same thing. Relax and have a good trip.

In Sichuan a couple of years ago I was given a box of perfectly ripe loquats, too many to eat there. Spent a lot of time on line trying to find US entry restrictions that might apply. Exchanged emails with family in the US who tried to find out from Customs by phone. No information available! Brought the box, about half full, through entry at JFK. Let's be nice to each other and understand that we have different expectations and experiences with variety of girls in PRC. I do agree with much of what OWL wrote.
