Posts: 4567I suppose I should correct myself. The Cebu posting area does in fact have a thread just for "restaurants". AC, Manila and Makati do not.

Posts: 4567CC mall? You mean Cebu city? Those are your words / initials, not mine. I'm guessing your point is that shopping mall info doesn't belong in the hotel thread. Then where does it go?
Hotel thread has usually been a catchall for restaurant and shopping posts. If you stay in a hotel, you might also be interested in shopping and eating.
I'm pretty sure there will be Airbnb options at the new condos being built around the new SM Seaside mall. Ace88 posted that there would be eight condo towers. X.

You asked why no reports about CC Malls in the Hotel thread, ergo my comment went over your head because the answer should of been self-explanatory.
BTW why no Japanese field reports from ol' bob?

Brilliant question! The photo I posted clearly shows a building under construction (August BTW), but you say yourself that the mall is now open.
The answer to your question, therefore, must be "no".

Noticed a few guys asking about AirBnB options in the main forum.
I'm just back from Cebu and tried Airbnb.
Worked a treat, nice "luxury" new apartment right across from Ayala.
No issues bringing back girls, just leave the ID with the front desk.
Walk of shame very minimal as it's pretty much only the front desk guy that you encounter as you hardly see anyone else there.
Around US $50 a night.
Much cheaper and more convenient than when I stayed at Raddisson Blu last time.
PM if you want the details.

Open very soon of not already (today 27th November) but that was being questioned due to the by law and traffic issues.
As always if people did thing properly life would be easier but in the Philippines they don't.
And while o SRP you still need to go through a messy part of town to get to Ayala.
Huge mall though Xman so honeyko will like that part. Queensland is not too far away from the mall.

IMO this is NOT the place to talk malls, there are many other sites around to sit and blab about CC malls.
Unless you want to take your honey ko skating, or Queensland opens a location in the mall.
You just found out about this recently?

The pic in question shows the new mall over on the reclaimed SRP. SM Seaside, which opens on Friday November the 27th.
Hop on an SM owned Mybus for free this weekend to get to the mall, but be warned the place will be PACKED.
Personally I will give it a pass until the crowds have gone down some, plus I'm sure FB will be overloaded with pics this weekend so I will not be missing much.
I believe there are plans for 8 or so condo towers to surround the mall, with at least one of those being of the condotel variety, but currently no hotel.

Posts: 4567It must be almost finished by now.
It's about time (some of us) stop whinging about the newbies, and start questioning the so-called seniors.
How is it possible that no one has reported on this?

I stayed for about five nights in Henry hotel back in October. Price was very cheap, if I remember correctly under $100 cad for the big room and much less for the regular room. That means those with usd or Eur will find it extremely cheap. I found the rooms to be "cold" with concrete floor and walls. Also, the bathroom was somewhat dated. It is a small hotel with no amenities other than the smallish pool and the bar / restaurant but I found the pool empty most of the time and bar / resto remained open until midnight making it very convenient. No gym on site but I saw at least three gyms within walking distance. I chose fitness nation located up the street in what looked like a fairly new development with several restaurants, conv store and pharmacy. The rate was 500 per day or 1500 for a week. The gym is well equipped but not for crossfit type workouts. I have only used the gyms at Marriott and Radisson so have no idea how it compares to other gyms like golds. I like the area as well as a change of pace from the usual Ayala / sm mall areas. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Staff was friendly and didn't say anything about extra charges for the two nights when I had two girls over. If anyone is looking for a change of scenery I would recommend Henry hotel except for those that require good wifi because the wifi was absolutely horrendous.

Has anyone stayed here as it seems to have good reviews? I am looking for a hotel close to some good mongering and chicks. If there are some decent other options, please let me know. I do have some contacts with women but who knows if they will show up. I am close to booking. Thanks.
