David, how can you tell if it is this year's rate or next year's rate? They have the rates for January on their website and all the other hotel sites...(just for my information...)
It is coming up around $120 USD/day.

BTW, the photos of Marriott are not that impressive. The pool looks small and the interiors look aged but several members on this forum seem to think it is one of the nicest hotels.

Seems they change month by month but over the last 2 yrs steady increase. If you are not gold or higher w/Marriott thereby accessing executive lounge I thik its over priced. That being said I am at said Marriott now.

Vitrea did you really count through all the posts to arrive at that conclusion? I think you need to get back to Cebu quickly and spend your free time indulging in more enjoyable pursuits :-)

I have just booked 6 nights in January at one of my old favourites the Montebello. Works out at 3000 per night for two adults and two kids. This is the best hotel in Cebu City (IMHO) if your Filipina needs to bring her kids. It has a massive pool, kids pool, small lake which the kids can fish in and lots of lawned secure gardens in which they can run around and play, in complete safety and it is also very gf.

I will then be heading off to CDO for 5 nights and then returning to Cebu for a couple of days and then out to Bohol. I plan to stay at the Marriot on my return to Cebu from CDO as it is nice to splash out on a bit of luxury now and again. They were doing a special on line rate last time I was in Cebu (about $110 I seem to remember) anyone know if there are any deals to be had for January. I will be arriving after the Sinolug festival is over.............M

Ha..ha. I saw that the last post was numbered # 4980 so that was easy. I will look at the Marriott as well. Earning some points in these major hotel chains is always a plus for me.

    Thanks you Jackson

Thnaks Jackson, excellent thread. And thanks to everyone else who supported this idea.

Talking of Cebu hotels, the Radisson however nice is still very expensive on the web sites.

The new Diamond Hotel and Suites is around 4000 pesos net net or less on some sites. I visited this hotel, and is excellent, may stay there if the rates are good and cant get the Elizabeth to drop it rates post soft opening.

The Diamond is located diagonally across the road from the Parklane. More like a boutique place but nice rooms and I was told I would get free wifi.

I second the hotel thread motion

With nearly a quarter of this 5000 post thread discussing accommodation, it is deserving of a thread of its own. I am planning a trip to Cebu and it is difficult to sort hotel vs non hotel discussions.

Another vote for the Cebu hotel thread...

Jeers to da Waterfront Hotel Mactan. Had some friends bring over 3 pizzas & a staff member there insisted on a 150p per pizza "corkage" fee. Not wanting to make a stink since 4 girls were waiting I paid but thats a 1st.

We both know something small and cute that does like being tied down :D And carried across the room. In fact Hug Monster's chains for his cupboard would have been well received in your hotel room last week LOL

Room Safes - this made me laugh

I stayed at the Cebu Parklane in Cebu (near Ayala Mall) for 3 days last week while I was on business.

The room safes are small & cute and look good but they are NOT BOLTED DOWN. Just for fun I picked mine up and carried it across the room.

I guess staff would have a problem removing the safe from the hotel but it would fit in a large wheeled suitcase easily.

I met up with fellow ISG'er redman69 and he was the one who pointed it out to me. It gave us both a bit of a giggle.
