I don't think there are any compelling economic reasons for PRC Chinese hookers to work in Thailand. The demand is not all that high (plenty of competition from Thais in low / mid range), the legal / immigration situation is unfavorable, prices are not high.

With the amount of business travelers Bangkok get from China you would assume that there would be some higher-end escort agency catering to them, but if there are I'm sure it's not something us Westerners would bump into by accident.
