For those visiting Puerto Plata and are younger than 50, speak fluent spanish and have plenty of game I recommend the food court at La Sirena for chatting up the girls that work there and other chicas, bring your laptop (free wi-fi) and kill an afternoon, you might get lucky. Full disclosure, I am over 50, speak passable but not fluent spanish and my game is less than marginal but I have sat there a few times and wished I was all of the above.

Went there last month and this place is huge. It has a GNC, bank, cleaners etc. But I found myself walking around like the store pervert. I would casually follow the girls around acting like I was shopping. I tried reverde tactics like talking english on my cell phone over playing my gringo status. I didn't have any girls approach me, but I never tried to strike up a conversation either. But its a great hangout, damn Mani you really get around.

When in Santiago one could check out the kaskada waterpark similar to agua splash in Santo Domingo but alot bigger. Different slides, bars, food, domino, pool tables, disco.
