Your post is good in detail. Is the 9 euro train ticket you mention something special or just a normal day ticket? Whenever I hear someone say they stayed near the train station, I wonder if their hotel was quiet. I liked the one I stayed at the first couple of times but it had a lot of street noise. I have stayed at a different one now that is quiet. It is kind of a big deal for me due to get lag.

As the other poster put, the 9 euro ticket is a special deal to offset the rising energy prices (I believe). It lasts for the entire month you choose (June, July or August) and can be used on all public transport but not the flixbus, IC or ICE trains. But for Frankfurt as an example, it will work on the S bahn (subway), trams, buses as well as the RC trains down to Darmstadt and back. If you end up travelling to other cities within Germany you can use the same ticket for that cities public transport for the month you chose. At the DB ticket vending machines you just pick the month you need. As I was there in June I chose the month of June. In July you would need to buy another 9 euro pass and likewise in August. After August the promo ends. A significant saving vs having to buy individual tickets, day passes, etc.

I stayed at the Intercity hotel at Frankfurt hbf main station. Was on the 7th floor. Heard absolutely no noise at all from the station or street below. Might be a good choice for you? Not sure if lower levels may have more street noise??
