    Easiest clubs to reach

The easiest clubs to reach through public transport in my experience:

Palace: From Frankfurt Westbahnhof you can walk; or you take the U bahns to industriehof (don't know which, since I walk from Fra West). There are plenty of S-bahns and trains between Fra Hbf and Fra West.

Freude: From Bochum Hbf you take tram 603 (couple of Euros) to Breslauer strasse: 5 min walk.

Living Room: From Duesseldorf Hbf take S bahn 28 towards Kaarster See and get off at Ikea Kaarst: 10 min walk.

Samya: U16 from Cologne Hbf towards Michaelshofen: 5/10 minute walk, the tram keeps going all night long.

Mainhattan: Tram 11 from Fra Hbf, stop at Daimlerstrasse: couple of minutes walk.

    Reasonable:

Oase: From Fra Hbf to Friedrichsdorf with the S5, then the Hessische Landesbahn to Burgholzhausen: 15 min walk (make sure you know the route).

World: Get to Giessen Hbf (50 min from Frankfurt Hbf) and then on to Garbenteich with the Hessische Landesbahn (goes once every 2 hours) : 15 min walk

Golden Time: Train to Kaldenkirchen where there is busses (can't remember the number) that take you to the busstop Tierpark. Come to thin of it, this is usually a terrible connection and you're better off taken a cab from Boisheim, Breyell or Kaldenkirchen (if you can find one). The train goes between Venlo (NL) and Duesseldorf Hbf and also calls at Neuss Hbf, Viersen and MonchenGladbach Hbf.

Parksauna Rezidenz: take the train from Cologne Hbf to Honrath-Lohmer, then a 20 minute walk true the forest (you should know where to go before you try it) ; you can also call a minibus (apparantly).

Acapulco: From Essen Hbf, take S9 to Velbert Nierenhof and then bus OV 8 till stop Eintrachtstrasse. You can also get there from Velbert Langenberg (link to Bochum Hbf) and bus OV 7.

Ying Yang (NL) : From Roermond Central station take bus 79 to MLK school: 5 minutes walk.

    Enjoy!

    FKK Globe

Take S-Bahn from either Cologne or Dusseldorf to LEV Mitte. From there you can take a bus. Relatively easy to get there. Journey about 40 min.

    FKK Sharks

First time poster Basel wrote a three part report on his recent visit to Sharks. He traveled to the club via train / taxi and was able to catch the last train back to FRA.

    Complete details are available here:

Info is of course always available on the DB sites, but is nice to see how it actually plays out, particularly as the taxi leg of the trip is concerned.

Actually, the bus is only 1 euro 90. And if you want to close FKK World, you can walk back to Garbenteich Sportsplatz and catch the first bus back to Giessen at around 4:45 AM. Except Sunday morning.

    Deutsche Bahn Rail Navigator

TIP: Install DB Railnavigator on your smartphone.

There is a version for all smartphones, and it really makes finding your way around germany very easy. Germany has an extensive network of ICEs, ICs, ECs, S-Bahns, RegionalExpresses, RegionalBahns, U-Bahns, Trams, Busses, Trolleys, and horse pulled covered wagons. Using this App makes useing this network much less intimidating.

Addition to FKK World by Public Access

BTW, FKK World is easy to reach by bus direct from Giessen for about 3 euros, if you are happy to walk 10 minutes at the end, although you might need a taxi to come back if yo are planning to stay at the club until very late [/Optimist QUOTE].

...And, there is always the privately owned HLB (Heissishe Landsbahn) train from track 12 in Giessen for 2 euros to Garbentech if you don't mind a 30 minute walk to FKK World. But, as you say, Optimist, late night return trips are not available by this method.

If I understand the information from KVB in Köln correctly U 16 to / from Michaelshoven now got 30-minutes traffic all night long at Friday and Saturday evenings. If you want to visit Samya other days you still got a problem to go back to Köln late at night, but for Friday and Saturday evenings the new timetable is perfect news.

I am also planning an early spring smaller tour and this really helps as I will be using taxis / trains!

    Club tour using public transportation

Planning a club tour using public transportation in spring, figured I'd share what I've found and maybe get some suggestions / feedback. My criteria is simple: club has to be easily reached 'or' at least have reasonably priced hotels (30 50 euros) nearby. I'd also try to avoid the overuse of taxi's if possible. The reason behind using public transportation is being able to reach clubs all over germany. I could rent a car but for the length of time of my trip a car and gas would easily cost over a grand. By preplanning and purchasing train tickets ahead of time I might get all those clubs into my schedule for under 200 euro's. Clubs that need little research are Artemis, Palace, Mainhattan and Oase. These four are well documented on the in's and out's of visiting using public transportation. I'll focus on clubs that aren't mentioned as often.

Sharks: easy access to an etap followed by a short walk to the club. Easily doable. On the list.

Atlantika: not easily reachable and since its such a small club I wouldn't want to pay any extra cash to visit. Off the list.

World: a few hotels nearby but some that are hard to book via the internet. I'm hesitant to use a hotel where the front desk person wasn't around for an hour (at noon). And 22 euro taxi ride each way to a giessen hotel adds up quickly. The club is a favorite of mine but questionable via public transportation.

Goldentime: not the easiest to reach via public transportation but several hotels nearby that would help with a longer stay for a multi day visit.

Villa Vertigo: not the easiest to reach, limited hotels nearby but the club has a great lineup on the weekend. Would try to squeeze in a day if possible.

Hawaii: close to public transportation. Limited hotels nearby tough. Possible visit.

Fkk Stuttgart: easily reached, multiple hotels to choose from. Possible visit.

Babylon: reachable by public transportation, some hotels nearby. Extra costs for services make the club questionable. Possible.

PHG: no hotels nearby, not easily reached. Lineup too shaky. Off the list.

Acapulco: you can get close via public transportation, several hotels in Velbert that are reasonable. Low entrance and lower costs for the girls offset any extra costs to reach the club. On the list.

Dolce Vita dusseldorf: close to public transportation, hotel nearby. Possible visit.

Samya: easy to reach by public tranportation but from what I recall one has to leave the club early to catch the last train. No hotels near the club so doesn't meet my criteria. Off the list.

Living Room: easy to reach, hotels nearby. On the list.

Fkk Villa: reasonably close to public transportation and hotels. Love the look of the club but its always been too far of a drive to visit. On the list.

Colosseum: many hotels nearby to choose from, easily reached by public transportation. On the list.

Harem: not easily reached, a few hotels nearby. An option since the club is so far out of the way. Possible visit.

By prebooking / prepaying trains I can pretty much cover all the major clubs in Germany. Even goldentime in Austria is reachable. An 18 21 day tour covering anywhere from 7 to 14 clubs.

p.s. trying to have this moved to the general topic section, didnt intend this as a new thread.
