I'm heading to El Salvador in 3 hours so a bit off center. El Salvador is not like the Philippines. All the doormen have shotguns where I'm going, no exaggeration. Drinking some wine now.

I prefer my regulars and office girls / students as you know. I have been to the bars in Mango and the clubs where the Cebuanas are very tasty at times. I prefer the latter to bars for many reasons that you know.
The bar scene in Davao. Not sure as not been there much and when I did I already had some one with me or was pre arranged. But there used to some good clubs (maybe GE can assist more).
But next time you arrive try the non BGs etc as they are great fun, won't lie (well not as much) and are great company in and out of bed LOL.
As for treating you with respect you know money does help in that also my friend LOL. AM always treated with respect because am so good looking and have the body of an Adonis LOL.

IMO the hottest lookers I've seen in the PI have been in (Cebu) Mango St bars. I have little experience in Cebu, only Ayala Mall and Mango St bars on 3 or 4 trips but I ended up taking Cebu out of my PI rotation a couple of years ago. I took it out because the Mango St bars (Vikings etc) are full of DDG dr**k s**ts that have total power over me. I mean some of these women were incredible looking but they were out to hustle and lie for drinks only.
They are also very Asian oriented so you are in their bar being ignored and some Ks walk in and the ladies go crazy over them. It's just unpleasant and disappointing. They'd make more money w / me (in most cases) but they are adverse to westerners in the extreme, so I don't go there anymore.
But you guys have me thinking about the place again. The Cebuanas are hotter than their Manila counterparts but the Manila ladies treat me w / respect and affection.
Never been to Davao. Is there a vibrant bar scene there WR? I only have time for BGs or SGs, I want to see and talk w / them before I make a purchase.
Cheers Guysg

Referrals always best and I have never used a dating site in years or go to bars unless am going with friends. Am not a great person for bars / loud music and smoke. I have been to Alcohology and J Ave plus other clubs for short time. Plenty pickings if you have time etc but referrals best (is how I got to know that hottie WR and still do and she has friends also).

The draw for me are two things that don't involve those bars:
1) The girls who hang around in the J Ave area, and.
2) Regular girls, either from dating sites, or referrals (from my regular girls or from you good BM's). This second category has been a serious windfall for me the last several years (as seen in the PG, page 28, post #8026 / backdoor adventure). The girl in the pic is from a dating site and has been with me for many years now. When I'm in Cebu, she stays with me every night (unless I tell her to take a night off). She goes home to her parents, siblings, and kids, and to her boyfriend, who lives with the family, when they are 'on'. Every morning she goes home to her kids and mom, and she, her mom, and one of her sisters goes to church 4-7 days per week in the mornings before lunch (crazy for church, her FB gets updated with pics of her at church or on church missions several times / week). She has brought me to the family home several times (when she is in an 'off' period with the boyfriend / father of her kids). She rarely speaks, seems constantly happy, and she's pretty. She has never once asked me what I do in the daytime when she's gone home. Yes that's my other playtime with my other regulars, who tend to bring more regulars (and thanks WR for your little hottie referral).
The city is filled with prettier girls than Manila (IMHO), who are slightly less sophisticated and more accepting of doing anything that I want when they are with me (sex, staying in, going out, they rarely suggest a bar or restaurant, happy with whatever I choose). And regular cebuanas are happy (giddy) with half the pesos of her Manila counterparts in the morning.
GE is right about traffic and such, but Cebu (for me) is a place I can go to (without telling anyone in advance) and be assured there will be a girl in my bed not only nightly, but also a different girl in the daytime, or no girl at all when I want a day off.

I'm settled in Davao with a long-term asawa and I never hit the bars, but I've heard from others confirming your point, that they're not very good. However, there are women all over the place here, easily approachable, and from what I can see, the quality of life in Davao beats Cebu hands down. Of course I know this town and I really don't know Cebu well, so perhaps my comparisons are invalid.

I stayed a few days in Lapu Lapu (I have built up quite a few chatmates I see from Lapu Lapu). On a Sunday night I ventured out to Club Mermaid. It is tricky to find. It is set back from the main road from the airport to the new bridge with poor signage on the main road so unless you look down the driveway you can't see it easily. Maybe Sunday is not a good guide. But there was probably 10 girls. They tended to only dance when there were enough customers (or the right customers as after a big group left they stopped dancing on the stage). I was offered a show up of 3 girls which was fairly sad. For research purposes I did buy one girl a drink. Forget the price sorry. But overall there was nothing to encourage me to come back but the girl assured me Friday / Saturday was much better. Next I tried VIP Club. This is a mini Arena KTV style with a large public stage area. VIP Club is on the road to Shang past the runway. So it is a fair hike from Lapu Lapu city. There was 18 girls (every hour they have full girl display on stage). There were 2 girls I would have chosen. Sat with one for 600 per hour. Didn't barfine but my memory was it was 5000. VIP club would probably be the highest quality lineup on Mactan.

Posts: 4050I've visited Cebu several times over the past 14 years, and I've never developed any affinity for the place. I've always felt it was a sort of mini Manila without the redeeming qualities of Greenbelt and BGC. I'm just wrapping up a brief visit here that's confirmed this perspective, and again I'm wondering what so many people appear to see in this place that I just don't see.
Last night, accompanied by a buddy who lives here (and who is leaving since he's decided he really doesn't like it much), I hit many of the bars on and around the Mango area: Planet X, Sisters, Eric the Red, Vikings, and a bunch on the other side of the street. There were very few customers in most of the bars. Though I realize that tastes in women differ widely, neither my friend nor I saw anyone that either of us would even consider. The bars were fairly shabby, lacking in much energy, and in general not much fun.
For the sake of nostalgia, we wound up the evening at Lone Star, which had at least as many available women as any of the other bars visited. Though the mood was a bit more relaxed, the options on offer were equally dis-spiriting, and we left after a single drink.
I'm told by my friend that our tour des boîtes was fairly typical of his last few visits, though granted a Tuesday evening may not have been the best time to have taken a random sample.

Did you happen to catch the name of the owner? I wonder if Steve, from Washington state, owns it. He used to have a bar near Fuente Osmena, near Love city, but sold that one for another on Mactan Island. Anyone know?

Posts: 383Mactan bars: Frolics and More
Thought I'd give a field report on two Mactan bars I haven't see much written about lately: Frolics and More. Went to them with my girl recently.
Both are on Basak-Marigondon Rd, just after the old bridge. From Cebu take the old bridge aka Osmena Bridge and keep going straight, More and Frolics will be on your right in a few minutes as the road starts to curve. If you see Jollibee you have gone WAY too far.
Frolics.
Foreigner bar, 6 dancers (5-7's on the looks scale) 2 bartenders, one mama working, and only 1 other customer besides me and my girl when we arrived around 10:30 pm. The girls say that it is often very slow like this.
Local drinks: SML 85, tequila shots 150.
Lady drinks: 200.
BF: 2800 (2000 to the girl, 800 to the bar). Tips appreciated but not expected.
More.
The bar called "More" is just down the street from Frolics towards the bridge. There were a bunch of motorcycles parked outside. Walked in, and had to pay 60 for my girl at the door. Turns out it's a pinoy bar. Over 50 customers and at least 15+ girls dancing in shifts, mostly 6-8's. Very crowded. Was the only foreigner there, got a few stares going in, but sat down and ordered a beer and everything was fine.
I forgot to write down exactly how much local drinks were here, but I remember they were pretty cheap.
Lady drinks: 200 for a small, 400 for a large.
According to the girl we bought a drink for, "there is no barfine here, only penalty of 3500". When pressed, she admited that the "penalty" for leaving work early is split between the girl and the bar (a barfine by another name). She also said that most the local customers just drink beer and watch the girls dance, unless a rich pinoy comes in and spends 10 k+ and takes home a couple girls.

Just want to give back to the forum on my experiences of a few days in Cebu.
Took a nice girl, Clara from Lonestar and she was a solid performer in the bedroom. Despite heading there a few times that place never seems to get busy possibly due to its location but also because they only have around 8 girls. Only 2 of them attractive in my view.
Be G next door to Viking was one of my favorite places and there was a couple I'd have taken if I had the chance. One who was all over me and with her tongue down my throat would have been in my bed but could only do ST due to mothering duties. Others were busy while I was there. On the first night there I was talking to a cute waitress there and bought her a couple of drinks and asked her about barfining her and she said it was 5000 ! WTF? Apparently the waitresses go for more than the dancer despite most of the waitresses standing around with nothing to do. I guess this is one of those things that us foreigners are just not meant to understand.
Viking was quite good on a Monday night, especially for low season, there were quite a number of nice friendly girls but I didn't partake as I had a girl from Blendr on the go.
Planet X had some real lookers but was largely a waste of money if you aren't Korean. When the Koreans roll in all the best girls make a beeline for them and the rest of us are left with the dregs. I won't be back.
Heard some good things about AllStar bar and have to say that I don't get it. Very ordinary girls, albeit mostly friendly. We preferred Howling Dogs up the road for an early drink. Lots of FL wander in and out.
Went to some other places like Sisters and thought it was boring and expensive. Other places just aren't worth the time to talk about.

This is for Stroker or anyone else with boots on the ground. Has anything like Silver Dollar sprung up in the same general area? Geez I miss that place. And it was so close to Mandarin where I normally stay. Replies appreciated.
