I ran into the same thing and found I could not ask two questions in a single chat. 99 times out of 100 only the first question would get an answer. So I just started putting forward one question at a time. IMHO I believe the reason they struggle and appear slow is due to their difficulty with English language and not low IQ, although a good education in our honeys is a rare commodity. I am just glad I don't have to converse with them in Tagalog. That would be really ugly and I would look like an idiot. Hate to tell you Jack but that is not a measurement of intelligence on their part. For your lack of understanding and limited perspective it may be a judgement of yours.

I know IQ is not that great a measurement, it only looks at problem solving based mainly on pattern recognition, and can be influenced by practice and culture but the Philippines at 86 average IQ is telling.

Add in the fact that we are talking to them in their second language, usually not dealing with the sharpest knives in the drawer and often the more poorly educated portion of the population and this sort of thing becomes normal.

I hunt on SA a lot, there is a better educated population there and you can actualy have good discussions with them sometimes.

Thanks for that link. It would be interesting to take a look at the methodology used for the study; sample sizes, stratification variables and assessment tools. If I remember correctly, the average IQ plotted on a bell curve—in which the mean, median, and mode are the same— for the Stanford-Binet IQ test is 100 with a standard deviation of 15 points. Thus, these results, with so many countries falling below the mean, seem a bit strange.

My last day in Cebu before I had to the beach. Originally I made some plans to meet a girl who would arrive later in Cebu, but decided against it and met Ms E from day 3 again.

My experience about Cebu:

I arrived in the evening from boracay on sat evening. On Pinalove I had arranged for a gal for a date. Explicitly mentioned to her about meeting fir a date and then being comfortable at my apartment.
