As expected Cebu Pacific was an hour late arriving into Cebu so it was a very late checkin to AirBnB's Trillium Residences. Cheap but one block further away from Ayala than the Quest and the Mandarin.

The international departure tax has always been there. Yours has always been in the ticket price.

As DG says it is always there but some airline don't include it on the departure tax (example China Eastern). You have to pay either via the ticket or in cash.

I don't think I've ever paid a separate tax. I've paid maybe an airport fee at some smaller airports where the fee hasn't been integrated into the ticket prices yet perhaps. But I've never paid 850 to depart the philippines. Is this something recently new?

I remember doing that years ago in either Cebu or Davao. Or both. It was PHP550 IIRC. Pesos only and certainly no credit card.

Once active the account will still work fine for messages coming from here to home.

My flight was delayed by 12 hours. Which screwed up my connections. Now I'm arriving too late for my cutie to meet me at the airport.

"Terminal Tax"; the receipt of which is attached to your boarding pass.

So Immigration can confirm you've paid it.

Yes; it can be paid by Cash or Credit Card.

Just buy a cheap Android Smartphone in your home country. Put in a prepaid sim to have a number.

I don't like messaging apps that link to Facebook or my real life cell phone. I won't have my burner phone until I get to the mall. That has definitely limited my ability to chat and test the waters. My prioritization won't be as solid and it's going to take longer to ramp up.

Just buy a cheap Android Smartphone in your home country. Put in a prepaid sim to have a number.

Then install watsapp and FB-messenger, eventual also Viber. Thats all you need to chat from your homecountry with the girls from Pinalove (add the app) or other dating boards. You also can load the app for DIA. If your profile on DIA says you are in Cebu, you will soon get flooded with "Hi's".

On that phone, only store the numbers for the dating girls. No other private numbers. And then you can also set up a total fake FB account. It helps to verify girls data.

Once in the Phils, change the sim to a Globe or Smart prepaid. And for 99 Peso you get 7 days unli text and enough acess to internet to keep on chatting.

Text is still the way to go once you landed!

Looks like I'm set for a return trip to Cebu. I've been there twice and Davao several times. The timing is poor, I know, that close to Christmas. Traffic and more reasons for the girls to flake out on you. This opening came up on short notice, so I'm grabbing it. It's been more than a little rushed.

It's been a few years and based on the forum, it seems like things have changed or continued further on the same path. Shop girls and Bo's didn't really work for me even back then. Robinson's was dead the couple of time s I visited. Never did the bars, although I did meet a mama-san outside Mango Square who provided a some backup talent.

I skipped DIA since they seem to be cracking down. I went with Pina Love and Filipino Cupid. The candidates seem a lot better on PL, so I haven't spent any time at all on FC. In general, I don't go for 18 - 22 yo's. I might include one or two candidates as a wildcard.

The number of message I get goes way up after 2 PM Cebu time. I wave off the ones who aren't local. If their profile says serious relationship, I tell them right away that I'm not interested in that. A fair number say that's okay. They may be hoping for a LTR, but I'm being honest. I think some put that in because friends and family may see it. BTW, I'm not quite the newbie that I look like. Just careless with passwords. I have probably 100 posts under South by SW and South by SW 2. Now I'm the third generation of myself. My posts were in Japan, PI, Indonesia. I tend to go dark after a trip. Shut down my dating accounts, change email, messenger, etc. Over time I lose track of my passwords.

So I'm asking myself if I go to Pattaya (again) or if I try Cebu.

I liked the way WeChat and DIA worked for me in AC and when it would be something like that in Cebu I would like it.

I'm not into bars, I like the FL scene.

I like to have two fucks a day and I'm very curious if this is possible in Cebu?

I heard that Cebu is the Playground for Online Dating, but I'm very curious if I will get there what I'm searching for and if its a good place to stay there 3 weeks.

I love Cebu way more than AC and Manila but we all vary in taste and needs. Cebu is OK if you have time but use the date site a week before. I can happily spend weeks there others can't but then some spend weeks waxing lyrical about AC LOL.

Contacts help also so asking can help you as well as no need to wonder if they turn up, or on time etc.

Also depends where you stay as like in Manila it can take time from outside the city to reach you so that needs to be thought about also.

I can say from first hand experience that Cebu is great for online dating with many many girls to choose from.

Personally, I wouldn't spend 3 weeks there but would allow a few days in some of the nearby areas around the Visayas. I had a great time taking a girl to Moalboal for a few days for example.
