I am planning a trip to Cebu in February and am wondering about apartment vs hotel options. SNIP and close to the beach either a short taxi ride or walking distance.

You need to be more specific. Cebu is an island with many beaches. Places like Moalbaol, Bogo, Danao, Alcoy, etc all have places to rent with kitchenettes. There are no beaches in Cebu City; at least not any you'd want to visit.

I have RTFF and haven't come across anything other than Elizabeth hotel etc.

Obviously you didn't read enough if all you found was info on Hotel E.

I was looking on a travel site and noticed some nice apts for about 200-400 US for 10 days, not a bad deal but was wondering if anyone has info on apartments for rent that are girl friendly, safe area, and close to the beach either a short taxi ride or walking distance. I have RTFF and haven't come across anything other than Elizabeth hotel etc. I like the idea of having my own kitchen etc for an extended stay. My trip is mainly to relax on the beaches and have some company as well. Sorry I don't have any info on the PI to contribute as I've never been there. I can offer some info on Tijuana if needed but I imagine most people here have already been there. Thanks for any info provided.

So you're looking for an apartment for only a 10 visit? Why do all the cheap charlies want to stay in an apartment or condo if they will only in CC for a few days?

You can find a few serviced apartments around but most prefer to rent by the month. If you plan on being in Cebu for only 10 days, book a hotel. If you can't afford a hotel bring a cardboard box and set up shop near one of the NRA squatter areas. Better idea still, when the squatters have cleaned you out, take your box over to Hadsan public beach, buy a case of red horse grandes and get a tan.

BTW, a 10 day stay is not an extended stay. IMO anything over a month is worth looking into renting a condo or serviced apartment because the best value is booking a monthly rate vs staying in a hotel and paying a nightly rate.

Certain serviced apartments will book by the night but usually you can book a nicer hotel for the same rate. Certain serviced apartments will book by the week, but you plan to stay for 10 days and you will have to pay for two weeks.

A number of hotels around Cebu will provide a monthly rate, and it's usually best to try to get the rate down by telling them you will pay in cash, just make sure to tell them after you agree on the rate that the room is for two people with breakfast included. FYI hotels are much more likely to accept a lower monthly rate during the slower months.

You did not RTFF much then did you? As at least 2 seniors have posted good informative FRs and that subject plus there is a host of information on hotel not just the Elizabeth.

Some guys here would look into your posting history and decide whether you are worthy of a reply or tell you to RTFF. Just write a FR after your stay and I'll be happy. Here is my hassle free, humble opinion!

In order to rent an apartment, most places want a minimum of a one month stay but there are a few exceptions. If your first priority is to be near a beach, you are not going to have many choices because the five star hotels and resorts monopolize the decent beachfronts out on Mactan. Most every property is girl friendly especially if you book for two. I know a few realtors that might have a line on some sea view condos but it will probably cost you. You should consider Airbnb as there are many rentals that might suit you.

In your original post, you stated that she was a WG, and had lived with a guy but never disclosed that she was currently married. OK, you "never sent a dime", but you previously wrote "I spent plenty on gifts then and for this trip", so you parted with 'plenty' of your hard earned money.

She was NOT a WG as far as I know. Her ex hubby and I are now FB friends. I got the whole story. I am learning many "normal" girls are quite emotionally damaged, she grew up without a dad as her dad was killed as a result of a love triangle.

I was happy she was kicked out on the street.

Unlike most I don't lie to the women I respect them and treat them well.

Yeah I would never mislead the girl. I am not a pro photographer so have no commercial motives. My only observation is I don't remember anyone say they use these modelling websites (yomodel and modelmeyhem seem to be the most popular in Philippines). And as I have noted in my original post, there are mongers using these websites with ulterior motives. And there are some quite stunning girls (although modelling photos may overstate their beauty). I might just give it a try as an experiment next trip. If I do I will certainly FR my result here.

Different story if you are an amateur photog and want pics for your own collection; or if you will try to sell / market them (presumably legit model shots).

In any event, if that's route you want to take then be sure to have her sign a modeling contract giving you the rights to the photos as well as fully documenting her age (and have her put her thumbprint next to her signature too).

But many who are paid receive a pittance (a few thousand pesos at best) and maybe wait a few months for it (was told this by 2 girls). Some will pose semi naked / nude for the Korean / Japanese market with a promise of never being shown in this country.

I know a few who have done Trike Patrol. Blocked in this country but with VPN you can see and while they are well paid by modelling standards if the family find out we know what could happen. One girl now lives overseas, another got grief from friends when it became known she did it. They could not understand why she suddenly has an Ipad, IPhone and nice vacation. Until one of her friend's boyfriends saw the video and shared.
