I don't ever hand out my numbers and especially since one of my expat mates reported how he handed out his number to an SM sales girl in MOA last year and got a nasty text from her boyfriend telling him to grow up and stick to women of his own age group. The BF and girl could have arranged to meet him by text and done a lot more damage so he "escaped" lightly.
You really don't know where your number might end up if you hand it out unsolicited. I suspect we only ever hear of the success stories like yours in these threads and never hear about the incidents that generate problems that you might wish to avoid, especially if you are here for work and have a reputation that cannot afford to be tarnished.

Was in Cebu a few weeks ago. Had the opportunity to attend David's free Cebu ISG lunch. Small group but totally enjoyable afternoon. Thanks very much David.
Not a very eventful trip other than seeing regulars. Tried the Mango bar scene three nights in a row (after seeing regulars early evening) and still disillusioned. However I have to admit I am warming to Planet X. I have previously written in a FR about the Korean bias at Planet X. This trip over two nights I have to admit sitting with two different girls that were pushing me to bar fine them and they were actually passable looks wise. I didn't go ahead but certainly will consider Planet X as a regular stop every trip now.
The star of the trip was something I have never done before. Was sitting outside at Starbucks Ayala and a well dressed slim cute but short girl sits at another table. I wrote my name and number on a Starbucks napkin and as she was leaving, walked up and gave it to her. The attached photo is the result. Had a foreign BF before who lavished her with expensive clothes and underwear. Also had worked in massage shop before. So maybe not totally the innocent girl wandering the mall but she definitely was not one of the core P4 P girls doing Ayala laps or hanging out at the base of the escalators near Starbucks. But great passionate girl. Definitely an ongoing regular. I have read FR's before of guys handing out business cards (I remember one where the guy also handed the sales girls old phones to use to ring him). Not sure of the risks of this approach. This girl could have easily been under 18 (she turned out to be 20) given she was short and young looking. And you never know where your number will end up if the girl takes offence. Any views on the risks vs benefits of handing out contacts numbers to random meets in malls?
I have now decided to in effect take 1 year off next year (but doing speculative business idea work on the road). Plan to spend maybe 50% of the time in Philippines. Have not totally decided on the merits of Manila vs Cebu vs AC as long stay options. I have many more contacts in Cebu built over 2 years of regular visits but the P4 P scene in Cebu sucks. Also I calculated that the cost / benefit cutover point for renting long term vs hotels / apartments per night was 14 days and it is unlikely I will spend more than 14 days straight in any one city. AirBNB have some apartments near Ayala and It Park for around 2000 pesos per night. There was one in One Oasis (which looks to have a very good pool for lap swimming) for around 2000. So I will explore these options more in future trips.

No 1 Problem once you there: Once you have a GF, you will be under 24 hours surveillance. No chance to bang any other girls without creating drama. As tourist you can change hotels or leave after a while. As resident you are stuck!
No 2 Problem: Life by western standards is not cheap. You want a nice appartement, not a shithole. You pay 1000 USD-month at least. You want a car, you like western food, not only vegetables and rice. All pricey.
No 3 Problem: Once you serious sick your only option is to get on a plane fly to Singapore or back home. Medical treatment and equipment is on a level 20 to 30 years back. And prices are hilarious which you as foreigner has to pay. Insurance. Over 70. No chance.
No 4 Problem: you are as foreigner an intruder. Whoever want to give you problems, will win over you. Even guys low under the radar do fall in a trap one day.
Go there for vacation, can be a couple of month. Enjoy the time then. But at the end have an escape plan back home.

One good thing about the new location of taxi queues ex Cebu airport is, young hansum guys like me, get mistaken for a Senior, and are directed, if not told, by Security to jump the queue and hop in the first taxi. I don't like queue jumpers and asked "why, why" a number of times, but then decided, this is the Philippines, queue jumping capital of the world, so I jumped in. Actually, purposely struggled to get in the car, just to prove to everyone else, I am a Senior, LOL.
Once upon a time in Davao noticed signs on taxi dashboards "Seniors Discount" think it was 15%. So promptly asked driver for the discount, he smiled and said "No discount for you, you too young". He got it so right, I gave him a tip. The Cebu Security guy who presumed I was a Senior, got nothing but grumpiness from me.
Got my cheap retirement place worked out, and it isn't the Philippines, but a neighboring country, yes. I can always FIFO the Philippines when I get an age old itch.

Hi Guys, I spent a week in Cebu earlier this month and had various successes with DIA girls in Mactan, Cebu City and took my regular Cebuana girlfriend to Ocean Bay Resort in Dalaguete (South Cebu). I also went to Silver Dollar twice and had a great time there being swarmed by six or seven delightful bargirls who pester you for lady drinks but will settle for 100 P each to keep you company while taking turns fondling the schwantztooka. Time Out bar put on the Packer game for my wingman and I at 4 am which I am thankful for. Met a new DIA girl, a hotel student, who I had skyped with quite a bit before arrival in Cebu and she turned out to be a real treat and very busty 34 cee cup so I will definitely see her again and take her to a resort when I return next March. Guys I really love the Philippines and am convinced more than ever this is the place I want to retire to in 2022. South Cebu, Dumaguete area or possibly Subic now that I have made some friends there. The Filipinas and particularly Cebuanas are the sweetest girls I have met in all my travels. They make excellent wives or girlfriends if you can put up with their mooching relatives. Safe travels, amigos.

I spent several weeks in September with her going to a few different islands and stayed with me in Cebu. I admit I spent a lot of money on her and spoiled her. She's fun to hang out with and I liked her.
I played it safe with her the first few times but went uncovered after she started traveling around with me. I don't have any obvious symptoms but will get tested. I haven't played with any one else since and won't until I know the results and any thing I may have got has cleared up.
I'm still in contact with her. She tries to get me to send her money sometimes. I am glad that daydreaming of bringing her home was only a passing fantasy LOL I had a hunch of what she was up to.
I will let her know to go get tested but I know her well enough to suspect that she won't do anything about it.
I met her on Tinder and she also has a DIA profile but can sometimes be found hanging around TGI Friday's with her friends suckering guys into buying her drinks.

Posts: 236Malapascua, Bantayan, etc. Info for X
I've been to several resorts in Northern Cebu on various trips, including a few times at both Bantayan and Malapascua. Not been impressed with Bantayan, but it is popular with ex-pats, particularly Santa Fe. Big, flat island with a scrub interior, so-so beaches and poor snorkeling. Okay bars, but that's all. Tried San Remigio, but no coral reefs and an extensive mud flat at low tide. Prefer Malapascua for Bounty Beach, okay snorkeling, (most places in Philippines are less than great.) Hire a banca to circle the island and it will take you to several of the better sites over the course of three to four hours. For places to stay, I recommend Little Mermaid Resort, just 50 yards from the beach, as that will be in the range of 2500-3000 P. Ocean Vida, also on Bounty Beach, is probably the best resort, but style is rather motelish. Their prices will be higher. However, the restaurant at OV gives a lovely beach view and serves good food at reasonable prices. I'd stay at Little Mermaid, formerly named Sunsplash Resort. If the floating bar is back in operation, that's a must do at sunset. I've taken the bus, V-hires and taxis at Various times. I was able to negotiate a taxi ride for 2200 pesos a couple of times from Cebu City to Maya, however, the wait for the ferry banca may discount that option. The bancas to Malapascua work like V=hire vans, leaving only when they reach a certain capacity, or when your impatience results in your decision to pay the extra to get them to leave!

Posts: 4567North Cebu Island: Malapasqua?
I've already posted this in the General thread, but it was quickly buried by other posts and no one replied. Sorry for the double posting.
I'd appreciate any and all info about good beaches, hotels and snorkeling in north Cebu, especially the pros and cons of the islands Malapasqua and Bantayan.
I will have a companion and we both like snorkeling. So p4 p and scuba diving info not necessary. But feel free to share if you think it will help others.
I've found dive resorts to be full of friendly, helpful people and they know good snorkeling spots, so I won't hesitate to stay at such a place.
I'd prefer not to pay over php 3,000 per night on accommodation.
I know it's a long bus ride from north terminal to up north, which is why I've always headed in different directions. X Man.

As don't bother with J or the bars as there is plenty hot girls outside those places prices can vary a lot as can service and some friends say while she looks super hot she really is a starfish.
But I know one or two who look as good as shag etc so YMMV.
