I agree that Romanians are not Latinas. But you are wrong about the Romanian language. There is pretty much consensus amongst linguists that Romanian language is a Romance language. Romanian takes at most 15 % of the vocabulary from Slavic languages, the majority of the vocabulary is of Latin origin.
