What I find is a good rule of thumb is if the cars with the local licence plates slow down or speed up then that is a sign to follow what they do.

If the guy is not local like a Dusseldorf plate in a Koln area then those are not locals.

Speed don t seem to be a big problem in Germany compare to France, but if you don't defend your rights, they can catch you more than 2 years and half later.
    Sirioja,

To clarify, is this reason to explain the cryptic references you make randomly that you are no longer allowed to drive in Germany and why you now go to the Swiss clubs instead?

It was near Cologne on the autobahn just before some roadworks. Then again, only time will tell.
That is a really nasty box. A sudden 60 kph speed limit on the A3 three lane wide with usually light traffic as you approach Koln from the south. It has been there for at least a year. Hope it didn't flash you more than the once.

The speed limit is so outlandish I thought the first few times I had misunderstood it as cars went past me at 100.

    Cheers.

Good one. I might add a bit there: "HadabonersoIwasdrivingreallyfasttogettothehookers".

Now it has double reasoning also.

Siri: so you are saying I don't have to pay it when the probable bill arrives? I just assume I will get one as I googled and found it to be 90euro. The letter I got just said something like this:

"Unless you express your opinnion on the charge, a fine may be issued against you without further hearing"

BTW the term 'British isles' also includes the whole of the island of Ireland! The Republic of Ireland is a country, perhaps the only one in the world where foreigners tend to give a huge smile at the mention of it! It is and always strives to be a friend to the world at all times! Unfortunately, that doesn't extend to Irish People / Irish State being a friend to its own people!

Yes well, they earned their chops and built their reputation by working the clubs of Hamburg, Germany. So! The Germans apparently liked something British straight out of Liverpool haha!

    The Stones are Portuguese.

British real ale and craft beer is king with its variety, creativity and innovation. Unlike German beer it does not have to adhere to an archaic list of ingredients.

HB. As a longstanding harsh critic of the British I think I can reasonably jump to their defence. The stupidity of the British has been encouraged by the appalling politicians: in areas where the politicians give a good lead such as London, you will find the British to be enterprising and pleasant.

I know you were only responding to unwarranted attacks on Germany, so no problem. .

As for the respective intellectual requirements for repective languages there is a wealth of linguistic philosophy.

If I wanted to be provocative I could blame the French for the English language in its current form as it results from the forced introduction of French on the existing EngIsh after 1066 , or maybe I should blame all non native English speakers as, being a universal language, world english works down to the simplest level possible and has no poetry or intellectual finesse, unlike English English used properly (increasingly rare)

Or that english is a language for people who don't care about rules but want to achieve immediate goals at the expense of longterm goals. German is perhaps the opposite.

In conclusion, I can't think why the Germans would want the British. However you are still stuck with the French in the EU lol

My real fear is that Germany might follow Britain and become intoletant and narrowminded: this would mean the end of FKK
