Never been to the thermas, but some of the numbers and assertions here focus heavily on Hessen. An hour long session in Samya, GT, LR, PHG with anal is 125 euros (100 for half an hour). Then there are the clubs that charge 40 or 30 for each half an hour (Acapulco and Heaven7). In these clubs it is also a lot more common for girls to be booked for 5-6 hours at a time (probably at less than 75 an hour).

Good point. This is just back-of-the-envelope calculations to demonstrate that if you are the type of monger that asks for extras than the relative bargin of the FKK compared to the Termas starts to diminish. This is because some of these extras such as anal seem to be standard in the Rio Termas. If you purchase the "frills' in Oase or World, the FKK can turn out to be more expensive.

I would love to visit PHG and some of those other clubs and see what they are about. Thanks for the input

Since May 1 as a foreigner you can not buy soft drugs anymore in the Southern part of Holland (Limburg / Noord Brabant / Zeeland).

Januari 2013 it will apply everywhere in Holland

I have read about the changing laws as well but it was unclear to me if the "private clubs' would allow the residents to carry them out of the store or you have to use them on site. If you can carry them out, for obvious reasons, there will be a booming black market aimed at tourists. Regardless, the change seems regressive.

I agree with Free Dude. I have been to AMS many times and I know locals there and none of them smoke and they do not care one bit about these laws, one way or other. Actually, outside the major city centers it is even hard to find "coffeeshops", unless you are in the know. When I first visited Holland a decade ago, I expected to find them everywhere like liquor stores in the US. I was surprised.

Is there any talk about changing / relaxing this restriction, esp in Amsterdam? I ask because:

A) If the coffeeshops become "no-go" zones for foreign tourists, won't there be a profound (I mean, extreme) negative economic effect right across the board in this "party town?" I refer to massive loss of revenue not only for the coffeeshops themselves, but for restaurants, bars, hotels, etc?

B) There will be a new, presumably more left-wing government in NL soon, so will the new government take a different stance on the "weed for foreignors" isssue? At least as far as Amsterdam goes?

Just curious if there is any discussion on these points.

A) Neither Amsterdam, nor the Netherlands has ever intended liberal drug and prostitution laws to be a 'tourist attraction'. If anything all these 'partiers' are seen as an adverse side effect of dealing with drugs and prostitutions in a 'pragmatic' fashion. I think they will feel Amsterdam has enough other things to offer. Not to mention the freed up resources / lower disturbance from tourists having bad trips (or in general being a nuisance). I'm not saying all tourists are like this, but some are; it's the price you pay for being considered a 'party city' and a reason not to pursue being one. Of course there will be small businesses (coffeshops, maybe hostels) that suffer, but I wouldn't think that will be seen as a reason not to take this measure.

B) You never know, but drug policy is sort of the last thing on politicians minds right now. This 'wietpas' innitiative has been set up some time ago, mostly because of the nuisance the coffeshops (or rather its Belgian, German and French customers) caused in the border areas. Appart from some coffeeshops owners (not the best represented industry) few dutch people will give a hoot.

Of course there will be all kind of set ups of dutch people buying stuff for tourists. Like I said below, I live pretty close to a coffeeshop, hardly ever smoke (it has been years I think) , but probably wouldn't mind buying someone a spliff if he'd ask me.

That is interesting but make sense to check trains for people carrying stuff by bag loads. May be they won, t bother you if you have a couple for personal consumption.

I agree with everything HungryStud101 says, although I would add two important things. In the Rio termas, just about every sexual encounter is a GFE. You don't have to worry about a girl not providing certain services, because DFK, DATY, BBBJ, and CFS are standard, and anal is quite common and does not incur an extra charge. In fact, charging extra for services is unheard of. Either the girl does certain things or she doesn't.

Good points. And I forgot, anal seems to be standard service in Brazil for some reason. So if you are an anal guy you will have no problem finding a Termas girl to provide this at no extra charge where as at an FKK it is 100Euro extra. So if you are an anal freak the costs become very similar. Ignoring the entrance fee the cost drinks at the Termas the cost would be as follows:

Termas L'umo. 250 R based on an exchange rate of 1. 8 R / 1 USD = 138 USD per session including anal. (Add extra for drinks but L'umo provided food last visit)

Oase / world .150Euro based on a 1. 42 USD / 1Euro = 213 USD per session including anal.

Other Guys that have been to Rio and the FKKs, Have you notice any Similarity in the Girls?

I have had 4 trips to Rio and two trips to FKK land and I love them both. Below are my observations.

In Rio, the Termas girls will do a lot more flirting and kissing outside the room. Also, they will be more likely to hang out with you post session and provide that "service after sale" that I like to speak of. Lastly, after the termas closes (about midnight or 1AM) the Rio girls are a lot more likely to meet you back at your hotel or the bar or beach the next day etc. I think there have been a lot of "Pretty Woman" stories with the Termas girls and they may be trying to set you up for that ultimate session fee called alimony. The game is very different in Rio and the FKK. The FKK is very inexpensive per session and the session is shorter and guys session multiple times a visit. In Rio a session costs more and it is at least 10 minutes longer and the girl will allow multiple SOG. At the termas, typically you pick a girl and that is it. Many guys don't session at all. After the session the Termas girl will frequently hang out with you etc. About half of the Termas girls I have sessioned with have given me their e-mail address or cell. In the FKK after a 50E session it is unlikely that the girl will not acknowledge that you are alive when she passes you in the club.

I love both formats. The FKK is a little more business like and I am OK with this. Again these are my observations based on a small sample size.

The other obvious difference is that in the FKKs the girls are naked, whereas in the termas they wear bikinis or the equivalent. I no longer go to Brazil because it has become prohibitively expensive. Going to a Rio termas and sessioning with 3 girls could easily cost well upwards of US$500, so by comparison even the upscale FKKs are cheap.

First of all, there are sometimes border checks for just this thing; once there were border officials with a dog walking through my train from Venlo. In the clubs it happens, but I'm also sure the management isn't really happy with it (just like they don't want the girls to drink). The only time I've seen a spliff, was in PSR, where a German guy shared it with a girl (I declined the offered hit, since I can smoke legally anytime I want. I could get a joint and be back home in 3 minutes).

Since Marijuana is legal in Netherlands but not so in DE, do any of you know if you get in serious trouble if you bring a couple of joints across the border?

Is smoking in the outdoor areas of the NRW clubs frowned upon or look the other way or well accepted? Do you know of or run into any girls that like to share?

I smoked a joint in GT in Vienna. I asked couple of girls and both of them showed interest but I got the sense that they would get in trouble if management found out so they did not try. They were cool with me smoking though.

I don't know the official rules, but at GT I sometimes smell weed from people smoking out in the garden.
