Good catch, you have a sharp eye. I should have said "5% are denied easy and quick processing". As you said, it remains to be seen how it is implemented and what happens to those that are denied clearance at the first try. Do they need to submit more documentation, do they need to visit an embassy, is the application denied due to misspellings, missing details and other simple issues or do they weed out certain applications?
I realized I misspoke as soon as I hit "upload report" button but alas it was too late. I wish I could re-edit some of my comments but this site is not allowing me any second chances, and I am not very careful when typing on social media sites. Perhaps the site owner can be kind enough to allow re-editing, at least for a short amount of time. But many times my comments take several hours to appear here.
BTW, separate topic but the currency exchange keeps shifting in favor of Americans. A year ago around this time, I visited Europe and withdrew roughly $4,000 during the trip. At $1.24 per Euro, I received approximately €3220.
Now, at $1.12 to the Euro, I expect the same $4 grand with fetch me €3,570.
The additional €350 Is a tidy amount for another couple of sessions, or a better hotel. Something our American friends here need to consider.

Germany is really not on top on 2019, compare to my last visits at Globe on beginning of January, where can play love in bed.

Hello Sir,
5% does not sound like much, but media reports say roughly 12 mil Americans are traveling to EU a year, and 5% of that number is 600,000. So, that many people who hitherto did not have any problem visiting EU from a visa point of view will be unable to travel.
Of course, this issue is now applicable to other nations as well and that may shut out visitors from other nations as well who at present have and problem visiting.
At a minimum, it is a minor hassle and if one is unlucky a bit more.
BTW, I posted another link from Condé Nast but I do not see my comment here. Not sure where it vanished, or perhaps it was declined for some reason.

Posts: 2073CNN article says visa application can be completed online in 10 minutes, and approval is automatic 95 percent of the time. Sounds like an excuse to collect some money.

Pretty pathetic situation.
Obviously for us mongers, this is a highly unpalatable situation. But even more broadly, this is a terrible idea considering how many people travel on business, tourism, family, and so many other reasons. People travel to the other side of the pond at a moment's notice and with no advanced planning whatsoever. Those days are coming to an end, per this article.
I did not know if US will slap a similar, retaliatory measure on EU citizens visiting US. Of course there is the situation related to those 5 countries mentioned, such as Romania and Bulgaria.
Wouldn't it be nicer to let to let the Romanian girls travel to US and then get rid of this stupid visa for Americans going over to EU? That would be a win win. I know I wouldn't mind if my favorite Romanian girls would fly out here occasionally. I would even share their travel costs if they can stay with me for a few days. I am a kind hearted man, haha.
The visa is valid for 3 years, so it is slightly better than having to apply for every visit or every year. That said, 3 years is too short.
Perhaps if Trump loses election, there may be new developments and hopefully a more sensible admin will hammer out a better agreement for all parties concerned. Let us hope.

You can go that time but I don't think there is a train to come back at 3 am.
Get a taxi to Frankfurt it will cost you 60 euro and tell the boss to pay. What kind of boss is he? LOL.
