I have done this 4 times already, once on a Sunday. No luck needed, just proper planning. The S2 was always on schedule (unlike the consistently late trains to Darmstadt) and the bus kept schedule to the exact minute. It was only a 5-15 minute gap between the bus and train rides each way. The bus ride is about 7 minutes, and you save 3 minutes of the train ride by getting off at Mitte instead of the Bahnhof. So, it is still faster than doing the walk.
There are 2 bus services that ply the same route, 99 and 95, at almost the same timings. One of them runs during the weekend, including Sunday. You probably checked the schedule of the one that does not run in the weekends.
I time my exit from the club to be just on time for the bus.
Anyway, my backup plan (that was not needed as it turned out) was that if the S2 was late on the way there, I would just go all the way to Diet Bahnhof, and do the long walk. On the way back, if the S2 was late, I would just have to wait longer; but in this case I would have to wait longer anyway even if I started from the Bahnhof.

For those taking public transport, I found a way to get to there without the long 15 minute walk from Dietzenbach Bahnhof to the club. Take the S2 as usual, but stop at Dietzenbach Mitte, then change to bus 99 and get off 3 stops later at the Max Planck Strasse stop, 2 minutes walk from the club. Do the reverse for the return trip. With my 9 euro ticket, I had paid nothing additional for my trips to Sharks, World and Dietzenbach, except for the taxi when I was returning from World, which is now 20 instead of 10 euros due to petrol price hike. When going to World I took the HLB train to Garbenteich for free.
