Budgeted 9 days to visit the AO clubs, and actually ended up only going twice. Just feeling generally lazy, and old these days.

Based myself in Mainz, 30 min west of Frankfurt. You get much better value for hotels, and some first rate offerings. Tho no fooling around in that town from what I saw.

Dietzenbach.

First AO club ever visited in Germany, (years ago when public sex was still cool). Have to say this trip sucked. The lineup was not great (and I'm not that picky). It was delayed, delayed again, etc. Ended up walking through the hotel door at 1:20 am. Almost 24 HR awake to visit Grimberg which is only 3.5 HR away. Doh!

Along with standing outside in cold platform for hours. Hard to explain to GF how I could be 'at work' until 1 am. (sigh).
