When I read the posts about Belize city, I've told myself "bad luck". Well, its not so bad. In the city center, there are few bars, where you can meet some women you can buy. They don't speak too much English and they aren't any beauties, but well. I guess, price will be according to it. They are used to to locals, not foreigners.
Well, lets make the story short. I've arrived to Belize, accommodated in a cheap hostel and because of info about Belize city, I didn't expect any mongering. But, well, I just went around the city. When I went through a street, I saw suspicious bar. Doors you cannot see through. Just typical bar, where you would expect some action. I went there in the evening and I wasn't wrong. There were some women, Latinos, who were there just for entertaining guys. I've start to talk with one of them, we went through other bars (what I've got, they have home bar, but if its empty, they are allowed to move to another), in the area on the map there were about five bars, so its not so hard to find them. Two of them I've marked on the map. I hope, right. Its few months I've been there. You can just walk during the day through the city a check these bars. I think, you have 50:50 chance you will be right. And the night? I have heard a lot about dangerous Belize city. Bulshit. Just be careful and don't go south. To continue. We had many beers, moved around and when I wanted to take her somewhere, she told me "not tonight, tomorrow". Well, I was flying next day, so, I went home with full.
There is some sort of lady drinks, not expensive. As I said, these bars are for locals.

Posts: 25Well if that isn't depressing to read, I don't know what is!
i'm headed back to belize next week for an afternoon of diving while cruising the region, and was hoping for a way of ending the day with an even bigger smile, but after reading ddd's recent account of things in belize these days, i'd probably be better off hoping for a fin-job from flipper!
should there be anything worth reporting, i'll make sure to bring you all upto snuff.

visited over the weekend just to see. from my perspective, no reason to return. stayed at the princess. okay, but. bring some binder clips (can't use the a / c and close the drapes at the same time). the internet (on the 6th floor) was next to useless. the casino was a pain. need an i'd to get in then have to identify yourself every time you return. and if you want to cash out in usd you have to have the receipt they gave you. so you can only cash out what you originally entered with. limit to exchange money at the airport bank (first terminal.aa. opens at 9:30) is $250. so i've got a few extra bze$.
i saw no action at the casino or in the bar. this was a sat & sun night. taxi driver said raul opened a new nightclub with private rooms out by the airport. name is temptations. but at $25 us each way it was more than it was worth to me to explore.
back in the us today; will visit granada, nicaragua the end of the next week & san jose costa rica the following. both offer better value.

See Mcafee's story published on that link. It looks like something that could have been written on a mongering forum. And his alias his "stuffMONGER". Any idea where is this "private board" he is posting at?

John McAfee, the founder and namesake of the McAfee antivirus software company, is wanted for murder in Belize, Gizmodo reported Monday.
According to Gizmodo, the antivirus pioneer is a prime suspect in the murder of an American expatriate named Gregory Faull who was shot in his home on Saturday night. Faull, described in the report as a well-liked builder, had previously filed a formal complaint against McAfee for firing off guns and exhibiting 'roguish behavior. ' Apparently the two men had had a disagreement about dogs sometime before Faull was shot.
A police statement obtained by Gizmodo notes that police haven't established a motive yet, but are pursuing several leads, one of which appears to be McAfee.
McAfee founded the company that bares his name in the late 90s and went on to sell it to Intel for $7. 7 billion in 2010. Since then, McAfee has turned hisattention to a new company he co-founded called Quorumex, which is based in Belize and researches antibiotics. Gizmodo notes that McAfee has become 'increasingly erratic' and estranged in recent years, experimented with hallucinogenic drugs and posting to chat rooms about his experiences.
Earlier this year, McAfee was arrested in Belize for possessing illegal firearms, which he described at the time as being a 'bogus charge. ' He also accused police of having killed his dog during the raid on his house — for whatever reason, dogs seem to be a recurring theme in all this.
As strange as it is, McAfee isn't the first founder of a software company to be accused or murder. Hans Reiser, the Linux programmer behind the ReiserFS filesystem, was convicted of killing his wife in 2008.

To the west of Belize City is a place called Temtation Strip Club, formerly known as Almond Hill Obsession. Its not as famous as the Rose Garden but the set up is similar. Again you will need to ask a taxi driver for directions. (April 2011, we were told it had closed.)
Its hard to find an actual Belizean girl working in a working girl house because Belize is such a small country. 330, 000+, that everybody knows everybody else. But as soon as the question was out of our reviewer's mouth pictures of local girls were flying out of his driver's glove compartment.
Was with three chicas, from two from Colombia and one from Honduras. I paid 350 Belize money, or $175 USD, for an hour. They showered me at my hotel and got to business.
The club is open from 9pm to 4am, but the real party starts at 10 pm. The best time to bring the girls to the hotel is during closing.
I had so much fun these three that I had to have a all night cap.
Crime is not to bad, if you are a dumb ass. Princess casino is the best place to stay, if you're in Belize city.
