I've rented cars at DUS a couple of times and found (using my Garmin) gas stations in the towns just SE of the airport, a click or two away.

I like DUS for its good layout and accessibility, although there are no direct flights there from here. If you are facing the front of the airport (facing toward the gates), the garage for the rentals is on the right side. Auto returns to the same location.

There is a Shell station next door.

Yet another train strike: this one will last until Sunday morning this week. Anyone planning to use trains or get a hire car on walk up needs to be aware.

Clever tanken app indicates the closest to the airport on the German side is an Aral in Weeze and it also gives you a recent price. Google map suggest there is a closer one in the Netherlands.

The one in Weeze should do since I will be coming up from Duisburg.

I don't know Dusseldorf airport but I have rented vehicles in numerous airports around the globe and there has always been a gas station at the airport if there is a car rental facility there.

My GPS is a TomTom and there is a facility to locate the nearest gas station to the terminal, or in fact any other destination. It has always worked for me.

I was asking because I've recently flown a few times and rented a car in Eindhoven. Well, my old TomTom (2007) did not find any gas station in the proximity and it took a while to find one and that was quite a stretch down the road.

I now have a new TomTom (XXL I blieve) that I enhanced with a few downloads that include user generated maps for gas station but since most Ryanair airports are basically in the middle of nowhere I still felt like asking.

I already added some sort of gas station map to my TomTom but I do not really trust that stuff.

However I decided to spend one night in the area since the flight in will arrive kinda late and I will probably have some time to suss things out (and maybe venture out to FKK Van Goch).

I also have a trip coming up, most likely to Dusseldorf. Could you advise me which are the best clubs in and around the region which can be reached by public transport. I have couple of days time to spend. Any suggestion on places to stay close to the best clubs?

You can get the train from Dusselfdorf main train station to station Kaarst to go to Living Room which is within walkable distance of the train station. The Park Inn hotel in Kaarst is also worth staying at.

hello gentlemen,

thank you for all your help and information to help me with my german fkk adventure. so far, i've visited oase and mainhatten and have now moved on to dusseldorf for the boat show and a continuation of my adventures in nrw.

my question is, hopefully, a simple one. assuming a rental car is not an option for me (it's not) , can anyone tell me what the most direct approach to both golden time and acapulco using a combination of trains and taxis? what are the closest train stations from dusseldorf that i can be reasonably assured will have cabs waiting to take me the rest of the way to each of these clubs? cost is a secondary concern but reasonable speed is important.

unfortunately, i've left this to the last moment since i'm planning on going to one or the other tomorrow (mon.) and the other on tues. i know that it's early in the week so i'd also welcome input on which of these clubs might be better on which night.
