That on top of the threat of being robbed at ATMs (in some countries, not necessarily CR). I'll use a credit card overseas before an ATM card. Credit card companies are good about reimbursing you for security losses. But with an ATM card, they have direct access to your bank account. In my mind, not worth the risk.
Just easier to work in cash. Also helps me keep track of how much I am spending better.

Hi guys,
I've got a trip to Jaco coming up. When I travel outside the USA, I usually like to change money instead of using an ATM card.
Any heads up advice about where to change money in Jaco. Are there casa de cambios or banks around town? ARe they open on Saturday?
Thanks in advance!

Posts: 957Chica room fee at Cocal?
Hey guys,
Quick question. Does Hotel Cocal charge you to bring a girl up to the room, like at HDR? On the website, there is that $15 "fee" for a "guest" that isn't quite clear.
Thanks in advance!

Posts: 1Hotel Cocal VS Del Rey. Current October 2017
I have been to San Jose and had the Del Rey experience "many times" over. I was thinking about heading to Jaco and spend a little time at Hotel Cocal this weekend (Oct 13-5). I was wondering whether the scene has changed in the last few months or so. I was there back in February of this year and it was pretty good. The Del Rey has gone down a little bit from what I hear from a few of my other buddies. So I was looking for a little insight.

I'm going to be in town Sept 15-18, and I'm interested in fishing, but I don't have a group for a charter as I'm visiting alone. Is anyone interested in getting a group together? For this / mongering join up?

Just got into Jaco from Panama where I had the time of my life. Much different environment. Definitely do not feel as safe and tons of drug dealers everywhere. Hit up Cocal and was very disappointed with the talent, hopefully it's just cause it's Tuesday. Picked a 19 yo tica. No GF experience like in Panama although it was promised. She used the restroom before and I swear I heard her snort a line. She kept sniffing and touching her nostrils when she came out. Terrible service so I just finished myself off cause I just wanted her to get out. Chick had the audacity to ask for a tip after smh. I was at the Poseidon but place is super ghetto so I moved to the croc where my friend was staying,.
Taxi I took back offered me a friend of his, might check it out. If anyone has tips or advice please let me know. I wish I stayed in Panama LOL.

I agree Jaco sucks big balls, but don't make it seem like San Jose is dirt cheap. It is if you don't mind dirty with a side of seedy.
