I know this is late as I was just freed up to go Sept 4 for 4-5 nights. I know it's Labor Day weekend.

1. Assuming Cocal is full, any other recommendations for nearby girl friendly hotels from which a Cocal girl wouldn't mind walking, taking a taxi, etc. I don't mind paying up to $150 a night or so as long as it's close. $100 would be better. .

2. If I arrive that Friday around 10-12 AM, is it best to go to Jaco right from the airport and what is the best way (I don't mind paying a reasonable amount. No cheap bus etc.

3. I'm thinking Friday and Sat night in Jaco (seeing Cocal) and then the final three back at SL or Amistad.

Any ideas for how I might accomplish this that makes semester to the pros on the forum? Thanks again!,

If my idea of two nights in Jaco is too ambitious, let me know! I've been to CR before three times so know Gringo Gulch and can prob make do there but never been to Jaco or the Cocal. Would like to take a couple from there.

I'm thinking of going to Jaco for labor day. Does anyone have a paid subscription to Costa Rica Ticas? Is it worth it? I'd like to see more photos of what I'd be getting myself into in Jaco (as far as Ticas goes) and there just isn't a lot on here, especially for photos of girls.

I agree with this. Of course I know it isn't cool to say that anything in MDE is not better than anything in CR but I guess I am not cool. As for the girls in the casas being better than the girls in Jaco. I guess they are much cheaper. But the girls in the casas mostly made me feel like I was at the NFL combine. Oh of course there were a few gems and you had to wait.

The whole thing about the Cocal is that now most the the day there are girls there. You have your choice whenever you want. The choice gets greater as the day goes on. Several of them are as attractive as any I have seen anywhere else. The service is usually as good as anywhere else. Plus most of the guys are gringos like me who I can relate to. This type of place is a necessity for any trip I take. There is no place like it in MDE. I never want to take a trip abroad and have to call a girl I have never seen before. I can do that in the US. The greatest enjoyment of these trips is seeing the girls on site. That enjoyment is worth the cost.

All Good points Bimmy. I have lived here for 10 years now and have been doing this tourism thing for 3 now. I have seen a big shift in the last 3 years to the coast of Costa Rica / Jaco Beach. Now about 60% of my guys are going there. No doubt the women are the hottest at the Cocal and Jaco, however the weather is much better in San Jose. Costa Rica has something for everyone It's like a big futurity down here.

Well, I lived in both San Jos and Medelln and I prefer San Jos. It is definitely more expensive, though. I like the food, the weather, and the people better in San Jos, and there is less silicone. The weather is good in Medelln, don't get me wrong, but I like a drier climate. I find the ticas more honest and less complicated than the paisas. Medelln is also much more dangerous.

I already have reduced expectations for Costa Rica, but how do they compare in looks and can I get closer to a Paisa experience if I'm willing to pay for it?

I don't think that anyone really argues that Ticas are better than Paisas, do they?

The girls in the Medellin casas will have you believing you are with a girlfriend and not with someone trying to gouge money from you. And then get their private numbers and be really nice to them (as in gentleman) and they will really be sweet to you. There isn't the slightest comparison. And then in Colombia you can jump into a cab for next to nothing. Try a cab in San Jose and you will not feel like you are in Latin America.

(Remember-the dollar has rallied in the past 2 years. The Colombian Peso went from 1750 to 2650 to the dollar. The CR Colon has done almost nothing!(CR is awash in drug dollars. Too many dollars and the conversion just doesn't budge).

There are not many if any pictures of Jaco girls on * There is information that is interesting but you can go there and meet one or two guys and find out all you need to know about Jaco. It is small and has few secrets. There is no daytime action and no massage places. If you surf or fish it is great. Really, go to Medellin where the girls are much prettier and much much much cheaper. I haven't visited both-I lived in both.

I went to Medellin and stayed at the Mansion, AKA Casa Blanca mid summer 5 years ago and it was SOOOOO good that it makes me 2nd guess Jaco and Costa Rica and I'm worries I'll be disappointed by the Ticas in terms of looks and service. I was with Geraldine back in the day and that was the wildest PSE ever, and completely authentic, that girl is insane. I'd definitely go straight back there except I do love to surf and I'm landlocked.
