Just came back from Jaco and it was great.
I have never felt like a piece of meat before, and it was kinda fun.
The second I walked in, I was groped, tugged, and forced to grab by the girls there.
My airbnb didn't allow guest, but according to some of the girls, they said it wouldn't be a problem. They mentioned they can talk to the security guard. You can also rent a room for 40 at Cocal for the duration if you don't already have a place.
Most were asking for 200 but there is room to haggle. Snagged a couple between 100-150.
I would totally go back for a boys trip when the wives are away.

Posts: 1Jaco / San Jose. First Time.
4 nights at Cocal and 1 night in San Jose. All the reports here were spot on about the girls, the bars and the overall vibe. I would like to point out one thing that nobody mentioned that there is a bus service from SJO to Jaco every hour for about $7 one-way. All we had to do is buy tkt online with pickup location "Puente Villa Bonita" which is less than 5 minutes taxi ride from SJO. On return from Jaco to SJO, the bus will stop right outside of the airport. I took the return and it took exactly 2 hrs from Jaco Central Station to Airport. If you are solo and light on luggage, this is the best option to get to Jaco from the airport. Easy $200 savings on round trip.

Fellas,
Jsut returned from an 8-day jaunt to SJO / Jaco and wanted to share some observations.
Transportation. Used Shuttlebug (Vanessa) on several occasions (To / FR Jaco) and she is truly awesome. Her prices are very competitive with other services and her vehicle is late model and kept very clean. Not to mention, she is a sweetheart of a lady. Please treat her well.
Colones. Having been to CR several times, I thought it sensible to pre-order $700 of colones prior to arriving. This worked out quite well except for the fact that my bank (BofA) sold me a mixture of new currency and old. It seems CR upgraded their colones 18 months ago and nobody thought to tell BofA prior to selling them to me. I tried at 3-4 venues and nobody would accept. The crisis was averted as I went to a local bank (SJO) and they exchanged for me. However, it took some explaining as I did not have an account at the local bank.
Cocal. Lots of talent of all shapes, ages and sizes. I have been to Cocal several times and never knew there was a smaller bar adjacent to the restaurant (beach-side). Truth be told, I prefer this bar location better than the main bar adjacent to the pool area as it was quiet and away from the "hustle". I was able to get 3 S / Ts for $80-$100 each. Service ran from average to above average.
Oz Sports Bar. Spent some time at this sports bar as I was looking for a change-up. The drinks and service are quite good. Certainly has a different vibe than the other places in Jaco. A great place to hang out after picking up talent from the local areas.

Hey all. Heading to jaco beach this weekend for a bachelor. I've read about the cocal. Our airbnb is a 5 minute walk away. Whats the rate these days for MSOG or many hours or all night?

It's hard for me to get motivated to try anywhere else.
There's an active forum on SXM here.

Posts: 957Driving to Jaco in July
Hey guys,
I am planning a trip to Cocal for sometime in early July. The last time I went to Cocal was 4-5 years ago, before COVID. And I always went in high season, never in the rainier months.
The flights I am looking at land at about 8 pm in SJO. I rented a car in the past, and think its an easy drive. I am trying to decide whether to drive to Jaco from the airport after dark, versus just sleeping at an airport hotel and renting the car the next morning. But then that would be wasting a night.
What is the drive like after dark?
Anyone familiar with driving the route in July? Do roads get washed out by rainstorms often?
Thanks in advance!
