Any updates on the Jaco scene?

Funny Story, I was filling up with gas coming back from a day trip to San Jose at a gas station about 5 km past the Tarcoles river bridge (Crocodile bridge- the place where tourist and tico's alike stop to look at the Crocodiles) just pass Steve and Lisa's resteraunt going towards Jaco. I notice a few nice chica's across the road walking up towards what I thought was a house as it had no signs only a gate with orange color paint and an orange roof. The attendant notice my stare and told me it was a bar that you could have a lady of your chosing for $35 a half hour or $50 for an hour or what ever you could negociate, and they also had rooms on sight. I then proceed across the road to have a look, indeed it was true, Its a meduim size place with a bar and few tables and I notice a few rooms in the back. It was early in the afternoon and there were 7 girls on a scale from 5-8 but it was early. I talked to the bartender and he said it was mostly a Tico hangout. I was approuched several times but declined due to being tired and sweaty from my trip.

I will let you know more as I find out more. Or does anyone else know about this place?

My experience is that the boats out of Los Suenos, during peak season, are some of the most expensive in all of the world. I am used to paying Cabo San Lucas prices, where $600 could get you a full day on a 30-31 foot cruiser (or you could get it for a LOT less if you are willing to attend a timeshare pitch). Compare that to Jaco/Los Suenos prices, in season, for the same boat, would be more like $1000-1100. I can pay that here in San Diego.

I have also found that boats out of Quepos are cheaper than Los Suenos - typically $750-900 for a boat like that for a full day. I had a very good experience with these guys:

They have boats in both Quepos and Los Suenos, and the Los Suenos boats are typically a couple hundred more for the day.

Sorry forgot the number you ask for. (506) 643-2215 like I said it is connected to the Beatle Bar, so very busy, not sure how much peace and relaxtion you would get there. But you could not be any closer to the action.

Thank you very much for your help. I reserved a room at Hotel Poseidon this mornig. How far is that from the Beetlebar and all the other action? Also, do you have a number for the Hotel Los Grandes? I couldnt find anything about it online and may be interested in moving my reservation to there. In regards to your boat, are you an avid fisherman who would be able to put us on some fish? If so, I would love to discuss the idea of a charter. Please PM me

no problem on the help, thats what we are here for.As for whether or not the hotel Poseidon is chica friendly,if i we to venture a guess i would say yes but i will research the matter a little further. The Poseidon is located almost in the center of Jaco So yes its walking distance to all the action.Beatle, Monkey, Nacho Daddy's Etc.
i will pm you concerning the fishing matter.

There are a a few options on motels, living here I have never stayed in one but I thought I would throw my 2 cents and contribute to the forum.

The Closest being the "Hotel Los Grandes" " adjoined to the beatle bar, I have heard it was OK. Not the Marriot but habitable. Rooms have Ac and cable. I believe it runs $40 maybe more in high season when your visiting. This motel is also on the hourly basis ($20)

Then there is the "Hotel Tangeri" which is walking distance and very nice from the outside and all rooms have AC I am told. I am not sure of the price or if it is chica friendly or not.

Another posibilty is "Clarita's" walking distance to the Beatle as well, or a $2 cab ride if that. These are only I few to start off.

One more you may look into is the "Hotel Poseidon" Ac, Cable, DVD, Mini Bar, Safe, Wireless Internet, Bar and Resteraunt. I know this because I go there weekly to watch Nfl Games. Again not sure if its Chica Friendly or not.

Concerning the Sports Fishing, Its high season then and the amount you want to pay is about the norm for half day. Here is a link you may want to check for rates and availibilty. If you have no luck, I have a 29ft panga maybe we can work something out.

Also, if there any fisherman on this forum, I would love a some advice on choosing a charter. Offshore or inshore is ok. I would like to keep it around 600 bucks plus tip for the boat.

Five days ago, me or my buddy did not get charged for our chicas. They just had to give them their ID card.
Maybe it has something to do with making your reservation online with your credit card. We paid online, but did not get charged for any extras.

If you walk in, you must pay with cash. No credit cards will be excepted.
