Someone asked, "Where's The Action In Jaco Beach"?

I just returned from a visit to Playa de Jaco. Been there many times, and actually found a nice 4 bedroom house with a lovely swimming pool for rent in Jaco. Only downside is that I would have to share it (has two separate apartments) with the Tica owner.....and she is rather 'loco' at times.

You ask "what hotels are good for the action". And I really do not believe that any of the hotels that I know of in Jaco actually have Chica's working on the hotel grounds. You may see Chica's at lots of hotels, but when you do, they will usually be in the company of a man....who brought them there.

You will need to go to the Beatle Bar, the Monkey Bar, Panchio Villas, or perhaps Nachio Daddy's (very late after everything else closed up) to find the ACTION in Jaco.

Or if you speak some Espanol, and like a challenge, try just hanging out downtown on the strip. And I would suggest get a table at the Colonial Restaurant during the early afternoon. From about Noon to 2-3 PM. Sit there and drink a beer or two, and watch the same working girls (from the Beatle Bar, Monkey Bar, etc.) stroll down the sidewalk.

You won't have as much makeup on during the day, may also be in a bikini or short shorts (for the warm weather), but you should be able to see several that you saw at the Beatle Bar the night before.

Many of them (Chicas) live in apartomentos or cabinas. Which are just around the corner from the Colonial towards the beach. About 1 1/2 block away. They will wake up around 10-11AM and will want to get out of their tiny room and will take a walk around town, some shopping or some just looking around, or out for some fresh air.

When you see one (or two) that you like, then say "Hola" to them as they pass by, if they seem interested and stop, then it's your opportunity to chat them up a bit, invite them for a drink, and go from there. Most of them will be more than happy to accompany you back to your hotel for a "nooner". And I have found that the price is usually less during the daytime, than if you hauled them out of the Beatle Bar at night.

I think you will find that a working girl is usually "always working" even on her 'time off'.

Just returned from a week of mongering, diving and doing the eco tours. Stayed in Playa Del Coco at the Coco Verde Best Western. Basic rooms, motel type, nice pool in town two short blocks to the beach with AC, single for $41 a night with breakfast. A porch in front of the bar gathered about 8 to 12 chicas a night. Sone 4's to 8's. For the most part they keep themselves in good shape. No Gf experince, just a work out, some times mechanical. Mexico and Columbia do it with some passion. My buddy seemed to have better luck with his takes. Price $70 to $100 US.
Friendly country and a great place to visit (next time I would try Tamerindo for a change.

I have found two other guys (members of this forum) who will be in Jaco Beach the same time as I, and who have arranged a deep sea fishing trip and have invited me to join them.

Thanks to Blue Devil and his wingman Jim, for being gentlemen and inviting me to go along with them on their fishing charter. Our fishing trip is scheduled for June 1st. I will let you know later how we did.

Here are a couple of hotel recommendations:

There are lots and lots of good hotels in Jaco. Pretty much anything you could desire starting at $20. 00 per night up to around $ 125-150. 00 a night.

Some of my favorites: Inexpensive: Blue Palms Hotel, Clarita's Beach Hotel, Hotel Estrellamar

Moderate: The Los 4 Grandes Hotel - right next to the Beatle Bar, Villa Creole Hotel

More Expensive- Hotel Tangeri, Best Western Hotel

Let us know how you make out in Jaco in June. Been to Jaco twice in Feburary 05 & 06. Heard its pretty dead in the summer, but u never know maybe good bargin hunting. For some non/semi pro action invite the local waitresses, bartenders & hotel staff to the afterhours club Nacho Dadies.

I just came across a website and information about a very inexpensive hotel in Jaco Beach. It's called the Pension La Casa de Mafalda. Their website - which can be found by doing a search on Google. With their name (Pension La Casa de Mafalda) says they are beach front, with a swimming pool, breakfast, etc. And that the rate is $20. 00 per person.

There is also a phone number (local - Jaco) for the hotel. I am not sure if this $20. 00 is for a single alone. Or would be doubled to $40. 00 if there were two persons in the room. The site is unclear on this point.

I had another small hotel spotted which was just to the East (next door) to Clarita's Beach Hotel - just North of town (Jaco).

I've been to this hotel before (in person) but have never stayed there. I did look it over, and it also has a nice pool, with pretty nice rooms (nothing fancy) but with private bath, etc. And the price when checked about 3 months ago was $ 20. 00 per night - per room.

It could be that this hotel (near Clarita's - This is the "Get Waco in Jaco" place) is the same as the Casa de Mafalda. But I can not confirm this. I am just guessing on that. Could be that they are two separate hotels.

I will be in Jaco the 1st of June '06 and will report more (from the road) after I go there and check them out. Steve

I never hear very much about Pancho Villa's. I understand there is a strip club upstairs with girls available. Can anyone give more information on the girls of Pancho Villa? What is the place like? How are the girls? Prices? Any further information.

Yes, La Central disco, appeared closed on my last trip. Nacho daddies is the main place 3am-5am 7 days a week.

Following my schedule listed below. One admendment, On Weds & Friday, Backyard Bar in Playa Hemorsia has ladies night. Backyard is a 2,500 colone cab ride from Jaco. Lots of girls, mostly locals & tourist, saw a few hookers from Jaco but not openly working.

I haven't been to Jaco in a while, has Nacho Daddy's replaced the La Central disco segment of the evening? Everyone used to go there after Beatle Bar, about 12 or so and then go to Pancho Villa's about 3 or so. Anyone been to the La Central recently?

I'm starting to think that Jaco is better for the older mongerers. I'm making eye contact and talking up the girls, but they go straight past me for the old fat guy with no hair (I mean, hypothetically speaking, of course).

I think maybe it has to do with the bizzare combination of young surfers and older mongerers being the larger population of the town. They are trying to weed out the young (poor) surfer guys and get the older, divorced guy. These girls are sharp! I even overheard one of the older guys telling a girl that he pays child support or something. I think these girls are looking for exactly that kind of guy who maybe will help support one more "child" for a few months at a time.

So for my last night I figured, WTF. I need to go to bed early, and I saw this amazingly hot girl. I´d give her a "9" she demanded a $100, but agreed to give me an hour and a half, so I caved in (she was really hot.) well, we get to the cabinas and she starts arguing over the fact that I want to leave the light on. Then she demands to be paid upfront. I tell her I'll give her $40 at first, then the rest later, but she would not agree so I let her get herself a taxi back to the bar (I didn´t give her a dime). I´m actually glad it went down like this. She left, and I wasn´t going to change my mind, because I knew if I paid her upfront, it would have been like trying to make love to a fuck doll. So I'm glad I didn´t waste my money.

So that's it for jaco. The beach is dirty and it´s streets are even dirtier. There are hot girls, but they are more expensive than in spain. So my final thought is that there are much better places to monger than here (the blue marlin, even).

Finally, I cut open my leg while (trying) to surf and had to get stitches, so I can´t surf for a while. So i´m back in san jose now and heading for Cuba a little earlier than expected (tomorrow). I hope to have reports for Havana soon.

So I arrived around 7 pm yesterday and as I walked past the bars I thought to myself, "party town? " yeah right. Friday night and it was completely dead. So I ate something and took a nap. I got up and went to the monkey bar at midnight and it was getting packed. Tremont´s timeline seemed accurate. Everybody was leaving the beatle bar and going to monkey bar, afterwhich they all continue (same ones) to nacho daddy´s. I was amazed by just how many girls there were. I could not hardly even tell the workers from the non workers (sometimes). I was also amazed that they were also asking for $100. What the fuck? they seemed to negociate a little more than at the blue marlin, but they still seemed so hardcore.

Are they like this everywhere? does anybody know places in jaco or peurto viejo with "not so hard" girls. Like some gfe maybe? I'll be here until probably Monday, then on to peurto viejo, so if there´s anybody around who can show me how it´s done, I'll buy first round.

Anyone ever hit the club/bar called Pancho Villas? I understand that upstairs is either a strip club or where the working girls hang out. Anyone ever met a really pretty Nicaraguan with a gorgeous face named Vanessa? Very sweet and laid-back personality. Average body, but really pretty face. She is around 27'ish and has worked in Jaco for a year or two.

So I went to Costa Rica with the goal of enjoying the great outdoors and maybe getting some action. At least I got to enjoy the outdoors. Didn't get any action, but didn't try all that hard, either.

My first stop was Tamarindo, a once quaint fishing town now home to Burger King and Pizza Huts. The booming tourist trade has encouraged Colombian and Dominican hookers to set up shop there, and they routinely ask $100 a pop. And from what I hear, gringos young and old alike routinely pay it.

Reckon I was too cheap. Knowing the cost of living down there, I'd feel silly doling out that kind of cash for an hour's worth of sex, especially when you can get a good massage and head in NYC for not much more, if any more.

During my travels, I also spent a night in Santa Cruz, where a hotel employee told me he could score me a chick for $50. (This, after his initial price of $150 for the woman. I was more interested in catching another bus.)

Locals tell me they pay maybe $10 for sex at a *****house in Santa Cruz, one right by the college, though an older Canadian guy told me the lady there wanted to charge him $50.

In Samara Beach, where the working girls seem largely confined to weekend nights, a guard told me there was a *****house named Mango outside town. Taxis could probably take you there.

I guess I was in this mood where I didn't feel like premediating the hell out of getting sex for money. If it happened, it happened. If not, no big dealio. For those prices, I can get it in NYC and keep my passport secure.

One night in Liberia, at the Kuru bar, I chatted up a morena dominicana about sex. She started asking $100 for an hour, citing that she worked in Tamarindo. I got her down to $30 for the hour before I congratulated her on her self-esteem and walked out.

One of my last nights in CR, I went drinking alone in a small town near Tamarindo and met up with a Nicaraguan dude I'd visited with on a bus. He set up a deal for this good-looking black Panamanian bartender chick, Donna, to meet me the beach the next day for two hours for $50. This one I had good lust for. But alas, she never showed.

Tried to score with local chicks for free, but they know the score. Don't get me wrong, I think there are great people in these towns, but they see a growing influx of Americans and Canadians spending money fairly freely. And a lot of time, they treat the locals all like servants anyway.

Be careful in Tamarindo. Talked to a Canadian dude whose drink got spiked with something. He woke up four hours later with empty pockets. When I got drunk, in what used to be the Hotel Kalifornia bar, those Colombian hookers seemed to be staring at us like Dobermans on point.

Be sure to do the canopy tour in Monteverde. It's a blast.

Locals tell me that you can go drinking in the smaller towns and have no need to pay for sex. Just be friendly and speak Spanish. Maybe dance salsa or something.
