Have heard and read mostly bad things about Jaco. High priced girls, high crime, etc. We were headed North up the coast from Golfito and since Dominical wasn't very appealing, decided to backtrack to San Isidro for a night. Met a Gringo there who owns a restaurant in Jaco. He's lived there over five years. Told him we were probably going to bypass Jaco. He said it was all bullshit from a few mongers who come from San Jose for a day or two and hang out at Beatle Bar. He said crime is limited to petty theft and there is lots of cheap pussy available. Just hang out in the park next to Bettle Bar.

Found a real nice hotel across from the park and Beatle Bar called Roblemar ($40 double). At the front of the hotel is the Cafe del Mar open from 6 am to midnight. A covered outdoor patio gives clear observation of the park and Beatle Bar.

Beatle Bar has a 2,000c cover charge begining at 7 pm. Beer is 2,000c. We went in at 6:45 to avoid the cover. We were the only customers and about 10 girls. We lingered over one beer until 8 pm at which time there were about 20 girls and no other customers. This was a Monday night. As expected, all the girls wanted $100. We didn't even try negotiating as we had other plans based on the restauranteur's tip.

Established our headquarters Cafe del Mar, drank 800c Imperials, and watched the procession of working girls unfold. Never saw a single guy go into the bar. The girls came and went all evening. We stopped quite a few and chatted. Bot several ladies drinks ( 800c Imperials). And negotiated full service short time for 20,000c.

Will be going to Jaco beach for the first time on my upcoming trip to Costa Rica in June. The hotels mentioned in this forum seem to all be over $100 per night. Any info on lower priced hotels would be appreciated. Would like to spend the additional money having fun with the girls.

You have three options. Greyline, Interbus or public bus. The public buses depart each hour from the Coca Cola Station in San Jose for $5 O/W. No problem, just watch your stuff. Greyline and Interbus leave for Jaco at 8AM and 3:30pm for $25. Any hotel can arrange.

Rates went up with the cost of petro. Try the bus at the cocacola factory. Just watch your back at the station. The buses aren't that bad and cheap. I suggest you purchase your ticket beforehand or you might have a multi hour wait.

I once used a $25 bus shuttle type service from San Jose into Jaco.

The problem is, I cannot recall the co.'s name ?

I think it only ran twice/day - anyone offer some bus ideas into Jaco?

Going to Jaco in late Jan - stayed at Cocal a few times - rates now start at $110 per night. saw a bunch of posts on Clairita's and a few on Villas Estrellamar any suggestions/recommendations on the hotels above or any others that are girl friendly that are priced well.

also do most of the places have a quest fee now?

2 years ago I stayed at Clarita's for 4 nights. Basic but clean and the AC works well. My neighbors were 3 Nica's so I had some inexpensive daytime BJ's. The bar is open air, right on the beach with good food (for a beach bar). Nice waitresses too. I then moved to Los Suenos for 3 nights. Expensive but chica friendly too. Had a better time at Clarita's!

A good place to stay in Jaco is Hotel Copacabana. The rooms are just ok but the staff is great, it's on the beach, chica friendly and has very good food.

I was there on 12/12 through 12/14. The first night of my stay they had 5 working girls come by the hotel bar. All were attractive and well dressed.

Beatle Bar is still the main place to meet the ladies. Don't go there too early as my friend and I went there about 6:30 and it was dead. We went back to our hotel to eat and when we returned around 8: oo pm it was packed. I would say there were a 100 ladies and about 20 guys. Most of the girls were fairly to pretty attractive and they had a nice amount of real lookers. I saw some outfits that were really nice looking and I would definitely describe the place as a target-rich environment when I was there.

Word of advise to newbies (of which I consider myself one). In general, pass on the one's that aggressively approach you. The lady I picked was dressed classy and acted the same. I asked her back to my table and had her for 3 hours the first night and 5 hours the next night. A true GFE.

I took the bus from the Coca Cola station to Jaco for an overnight trip while visiting CR for nine days. The bus is like a regular Trailways bus and only about $4 each way. It's a really nice way to see the mountains in Costa Rica for a really low price. The trip itself takes about 3 hours with a 15 minute bathroom/snack break along the way.

While San Jose was very spring like weather wise; Jaco was hot and very humid. Despite the economy several high-rises are still under construction. Jaco pretty much looks like any beach town you've ever visited. I checked into a motel that’s almost across the street from the Beatle Bar. I wished I remembered the name since I would recommend avoiding it. It certainly has seen better days. The swimming pool in particular looked scummy. The mattresses in the room may well be the worst I've ever tried to sleep on in my life.

I didn't actually ever go on the beach itself but it was very wide and looked pretty nice. The town itself is basically one main road with several intersecting streets. As long as you are on the main drag it seemed okay safety wise. Of course no trip to Jaco is complete without a visit to the Beatle Bar. All in all a pretty nice bar. I was the first customer at six when they opened and soon joined by other patrons and ladies who frequent the place. When I left around 8:30 there were many more ladies than customers in the place. Despite the ratio of customers to ladies cein seems to be the word of the day at the Beatle Bar with little room for negotiation. Looks wise the talent was generally good with a few 8's in the mix.

I was approached by a slightly chubby lady on the street after leaving the bar. I negotiated a bbbj/cim for 10,000 colones (about $20). I took her to my room and to my surprise she got naked for the bj. Though slightly chubby she had a pretty decent body. She was really skilled at getting junior to full staff. At some point I slipped on a cover and did her doggie style. I gave her an extra 5,000 colones for the extra service. I almost never do street walkers, especially in a strange town, but this worked out just fine.

I headed back to San Jose the next morning. Jaco was an interesting side trip and I had some fun. But other than the chubby girl the ride through the mountains was the best part of the trip.

Was in Jaco 2 years ago (heading back in Jan)- stayed at the Cocal Hotel - was parting with a real waco i picked up at beatle bar - about 6 am she had to leave so i walked her outside to get a cab - to my surprise there was still allot of activity going on.( it as also light out at this point) i see this guy walking back to the hotel with a chica and asked him what was still open -he said go to the main st. take a right and there is a bar open on the right. sure enough a block or 2 down there was a place set back a little from the road that had a dj - and several women around - found a fairly decent one went back to Cocal and spent most of the day there with her.
Anybody know the name of this place and is it still open???

Hi Gents,

I've posted this in another forum, so forgive the duplicity.

Getting ready for my first Jaco trip and trying to finalize my accommodations. Does any have info on Villas Estrellamar? They have the villa I like but haven't read anything about being chica friendly. I certainly don't want any problems!

Also, is this hotel close to the clubs?

How are these situations typically addressed? Do I need to tip someone beforehand? Do I bring it up when I make the reservations? Please advise.

Any info here is most appreciated.

Yes Estellamar is chica friendly... I'm almost sure there is no charge for guests. I forget the owners name but he is a really nice guy and he's a huge UT fan. I believe he played football for them(Tennessee by the way). Just don't bring up Phil Fullmer or he might throw you out. lol

How is it affecting chica rates? Tourism must have dropped. What about the girls? I can imagine it has slowed down considerably, so I'm just wondering what I can expect in Jaco. We leave next week.
