    Jaco Trip

I took the bus from the Coca Cola station to Jaco for an overnight trip while visiting CR for nine days. The bus is like a regular Trailways bus and only about $4 each way. It's a really nice way to see the mountains in Costa Rica for a really low price. The trip itself takes about 3 hours with a 15 minute bathroom/snack break along the way.

While San Jose was very spring like weather wise; Jaco was hot and very humid. Despite the economy several high-rises are still under construction. Jaco pretty much looks like any beach town you've ever visited. I checked into a motel that’s almost across the street from the Beatle Bar. I wished I remembered the name since I would recommend avoiding it. It certainly has seen better days. The swimming pool in particular looked scummy. The mattresses in the room may well be the worst I've ever tried to sleep on in my life.

I didn't actually ever go on the beach itself but it was very wide and looked pretty nice. The town itself is basically one main road with several intersecting streets. As long as you are on the main drag it seemed okay safety wise. Of course no trip to Jaco is complete without a visit to the Beatle Bar. All in all a pretty nice bar. I was the first customer at six when they opened and soon joined by other patrons and ladies who frequent the place. When I left around 8:30 there were many more ladies than customers in the place. Despite the ratio of customers to ladies cein seems to be the word of the day at the Beatle Bar with little room for negotiation. Looks wise the talent was generally good with a few 8's in the mix.

I was approached by a slightly chubby lady on the street after leaving the bar. I negotiated a bbbj/cim for 10,000 colones (about $20). I took her to my room and to my surprise she got naked for the bj. Though slightly chubby she had a pretty decent body. She was really skilled at getting junior to full staff. At some point I slipped on a cover and did her doggie style. I gave her an extra 5,000 colones for the extra service. I almost never do street walkers, especially in a strange town, but this worked out just fine.

I headed back to San Jose the next morning. Jaco was an interesting side trip and I had some fun. But other than the chubby girl the ride through the mountains was the best part of the trip.

Getting ready for my first Jaco trip and trying to finalize my accommodations. Does any have info on Villas Estrellamar? They have the villa I like but haven't read anything about being chica friendly. I certainly don't want any problems!

Also, is this hotel close to the clubs?

How are these situations typically addressed? Do I need to tip someone beforehand? Do I bring it up when I make the reservations? Please advise.

Any info here is most appreciated.
Yes Estellamar is chica friendly... I'm almost sure there is no charge for guests. I forget the owners name but he is a really nice guy and he's a huge UT fan. I believe he played football for them(Tennessee by the way). Just don't bring up Phil Fullmer or he might throw you out. lol

    The Economy Stinks!

How is it affecting chica rates? Tourism must have dropped. What about the girls? I can imagine it has slowed down considerably, so I'm just wondering what I can expect in Jaco. We leave next week.

    Thoughts?

Checked out the photo of the hotel--very basic--which describes me-single young guy use to hostels, bareback lodgings. Anyway is much of a hassle (taxis) to travel to Beatle bar from play Hermosa? I have to weigh the pros and cons for everything. Is there a map on the ISG? Of Jaco Beach, play Hermosa and Beatle bar? Thanks for any valuable info guys.

I don't know about what security they have at the Vistamar, however I would view any security they might have as a real plus rather than a potential problem.

Any security they might have will not prevent you from bringing back any guests you want as long as they come in with you or you tell the guard to let them in if they come to you while you're at home and he buzzes you. The only negative would be that they WON'T have to be signed in or surrender their cedula at the gate, OTOH, unlike some hotels, you won't have any chica guest fee either.

If you're really lucky, you'll have a conscientious guard who will really look out for you, although I wouldn't count on that at all. More likely you'll be lucky to get one who doesn't sleep on duty or even tip off the crooks which place to break into. When I was staying at an apartment in SJ, one time I brought back a chica from the BM. Shortly after I got her up to my room, I got a call from the guy at the front gate to discreetly warn me that he recognized that chica and to watch out because she was known to have sticky fingers (tendency to steal things that weren't nailed down). After that, I still had a pretty decent session with her but you can be sure I was extra careful to keep my eyes out never turning my back on her while she was there.

Bad night at the Beatle Bar

I've always had good luck at Beatle Bar, leading me to think I was a good judge of talent there or that all the girls were good.

WRONG. A couple beers, pick out a girl after talking to half a dozen, make it very clear I can't have sex without kissing. Back at the room, a little bit of kissing, then: What, you no want sexo? Gave her some money and drove her back. A couple beers, pick out another, but bad vibes walking to the car. A couple beers, pick out a Dominicana, good English, hot body, understands the rules, but just so-so sex (plus fake boobs, which I didn't suspect (beers)).

So I bring her back. Have a beer, make a plan for next night (too old for more than once a night).

Driving back to my hotel (almost a whole mile) the police stop me about 100 yards north of beatle bar and do a breath test. 06 so I think I'm good, but they say the max in CR is. 049 and start doing paperwork. They start by saying its 20K ($40) plus there's a 40% tax on tickets for "los ninyos" but as we bullshit about that's almost as much as a chica and I don't have to drive very far, they lower it to 10K (a pretty cheap DUI except I didn't feel very Influenced). While they were doing the paperwork they tried to stop another car, which drove right by, and they just shrugged.

Next night I went with a sure thing Panamanian I knew from previous years and all was well.

I gave Hertz the money for the ticket (they looked at it and said: I was really lucky, sometimes we have to come and un-impound the car and it takes days)

Advice if you are driving: make a mental note if there are police north of beetle bar. 049 isn't hard to get to, especially on a bad night. If you're stopped, be cool, it might help. But it might work to drive past as well, they didn't seem set up to track someone down.

FYI, I was considering buying property near Jaco about 3 years ago. The road was supposedly 2 years from completion even then. Some things never change - and I'm glad I didn't buy the place I was looking at - an upscale Dutch development about 4 miles up the road from Jaco.
